Another useful video from a person, who I admire. Thank you for uploading this and I am going to use this to build a proper resume while I complete my masters at Imperial College London 😍❤💕
Thanks Vy, this is very helpful! I was wondering if you can share experiences with interview. I recently found an attracting research position at the University of Oxford. Not good at interview…
Hi there! I am an undergraduate but don't have much kab experience besides some lab courses I have taken. Would this suffice in "Lab Experience" section?
Thank you for your video. i'm trying to make application in RA job on UK. May i ask guideline for Covering letter? is it format of E-mail? thanks you so much
I'm currently preparing a video where I discuss how to write a cover letter. In the meantime, you can check out the reference links I included in the description box for some guidance!
yes, referees are important, especially if the application requires the referee to write a short reference letter. but often times, they only require referee information to contact after you get the job, mainly for cross checking!
@@biomedwithvy oh thanks you for your answer. it's my first time to applicate RA position. so selecting referee is unfamiliar. i've seen your every video, and you have experience in Cambridge RA Position. i'm supposed to apply cambridge and it need to type 3 referee.... Does it means thant my referee have to send short reference letter...?
Thank you for your video Vy! I'm currently applying for RA roles. Does it matter much if I include a 'Lab Skills' section? I feel like my "lab experience" covered most of it. Also, is a one paper cv for a masters student with no work experience okay?
A lab skills section helps provide a summary but it's not compulsory if you feel like you've covered it well in other sections! I personally had no work experience apart from one internship and it's not expected for a fresh graduate to have any. 1 or 2 pages is okay!
Thank you so much for all the tips!!
You don't know how helpful they are for students applying to internships for the first time
This was so incredibly helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome, glad it helped 😊

Great Video!

@@DOSO-e1w not necessarily if the lab doesn't ask for it, usually they'll only contact referees if you've been offered the job!
Please share your CV personal details cut out.
