I would have had a hard time choosing only 10 flowers too. The struggle is real! Tip for next year’s Top 10… you can add a lot of value to your video by showing a picture of the flower/foliage you’re talking about as soon as you introduce it. (True, we can Google search the pictures but most people aren’t going to take the time to type in the names of the flowers, they’re just going to be annoyed that you didn’t put a picture up because that’s what everyone else does, and that’s what people are used to seeing.) Also, the names of the varieties are important to get right if people are to look up pictures…Zowie, not Wowie. Roseanne Brown, not Roxanne Brown. That aside, I enjoyed hearing your Top 10!
They usually do that. I'm guessing they were in arush with the video. And if you have followed them through the years, you would know the flower they talk about - I do anny way ;)
I wonder if she does do names wrong on purpose. Or maybe she has some sort of issue like face blindness but for names. She does it all the time. BakerS creek seeds, garden answerS. I don’t mind , I find her content and personality more than make up for it, but it does jar me every time.
Oh! Lisa MARIE Ziegler, instead of Lias Mason Ziegler. That one does irk me because keeping your maiden name when you’re married is not just some name you got stuck with, it’s a choice and I’m sure that being from her generation and the south she’s probably gotten other push back about it. I don’t have a horse in this race, of course but I wonder if if affects who sponsors her when there’s a decent likelihood she’ll get the name wrong. Again, I love this channel and don’t mean these as insults. Just food for thought.
I ordered Zowie seeds from Johnny's. It really is a remarkable flower. I've learned more about flowers from your videos and livestreams in the last year than my entire life combined (and that's saying something). I appreciate the heck out of you sharing in detail all things flower. Have a great weekend!
Hey Serena, I watch almost all your vids and almost never comment! So popping in to say hi. Love what you are doing! A lot of my viewers watch you also. We are very particular about what takes up space on our farm too xx Phaedra
I’ve missed you!!!! Thanks for this great video. I’m about to go online seed shopping to buy some of these I haven’t tried… that’s if your video didn’t sell out the supply! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. 💕🌺💕
Hello Ian & Serena, I heard about growing Tulips in hydroponics trays. If you have leftover tulips, may be you can try that for this/next spring. so, you may have tulips for valentines day. Just a suggestion, you might find it useful. Have a great holiday.
Great list, Serina! Thank you. You've given me some exciting ideas here. I find that your bouquets are my overall favorites of any I've seen. You have a great aesthetic.
I just discovered your page and thank you for making such practical info for smaller beginner growers in northern regions. I’m a Wisconsin veggie farmer adding cut flowers and these videos have been super helpful! ☺️
I’d love to see your top 10 with pictures of them both fresh and dried. If there is a top 10 of dried flowers, that are different than the above, and a discussion which are easiest to grow, dry, use, sell… I’m sure you will let us see what sold well at the fair. Catch your breath! Mexico is coming!
I fell in love with the Indian summer this year - it just produced like crazy and such big blooms. Potomacs are the first snapdragons I ever grew and I love them best, but I've never tried the Costa series. Gonna hunt down that apricot, I love anything 'buttery". Thanks for the list!
I really enjoyed your video. I loved hearing about why you chose each of them for your top! I would have liked to see a pop up picture of each flower, but it really is ok, I can Google. I look forward to your next video!
I agree that showing the flower you are talking about would be very helpful. Also, I was getting motion sickness from all the hand waving and emphatic head bobbing. Perhaps try keeping more still as you speak?
I already ordered 8 of your top ten flowers from Johnny's Seeds, just from watching you snip them out in the field. My favorite is blue lisianthus which received an honorable mention only. Maybe you could add links for folks just starting to grow their own cut flowers.
it's been awhile now that you converted your farm to all flowers...how is it doing? do you miss vegetable gardening? have the bouquets been a financial blessing? its it following your 5 year plan or doing the same or much better? just curious.
Thank you for all knowledge you share with us. You inspire me to grow more flowers next year. I bought pro cut orange seeds and benary zinnia in purple, lilac and bright pink for next year... i can not wait for spring.
Do you grow vegetables still? What product do you feed your veggies? Do you make sure it’s organic - whole - high quality veggie feed. Could you share? Thanks!
Would have loved to see a pic of each flower you are describing especially since you are so specific about the colors. Also, the stud by the greenhouse when you shared about Zinnias made it hard to focus on zinnias🤣
Thanks Sirena! Great recommendations. May I ask, which flowers do you stake? I'm thinking of purchasing netting for my flowers to grow up through. Growing: snaps, strawflower, zinnia, stock, clary sage, cin. Basil, calendula, flamingo feather celosia, rudbeckia, giant MARIGOLDS..and more. Thanks! Nicky from Victoria BC
I'm try to find wowie zinnia, but can't find it, only seeing zowie. Where are you getting the wowie zinnia seeds? sure would of loved if you would of shown pic of these flowers. Thx!
Hey guys, love your channel. I’m curious about how the flower plants receive water when the plant base is stuck in a six inch hole in gardener fabric. So my question is, if you walk down the row with a hose, is that enough water for each plant. Doesn’t a lot of water just hit the fabric and run off?
Have you grown any alchemilla Mollis yet? (Lady’s mantle) Similar chartreuse/greenery vein to Bupleurum, but perennial. I don’t recall seeing any in your bouquets. Also stocks? There’s a lovely shade called Vintage Brown which might fill a similar colour gap as the Rosanne Brown Lisianthus. It’s got more of a pinkish hue, but it has a romantic old fashioned chic feel to it.
I was so exited to see a video from you this morning!! Bupleurum did really well for me last year but I can’t seem to grow statice.☹️ I’m going to keep trying!!

Nice informative video. But missed seeing the flowers.

I can't explain it but I really enjoy you more without the fake background. I love the chaos background of the cats and kids. Great topic. Thanks!
I also love the “Zowie” zinnia and Lisianthus “Rosanne Brown”, the antique color of miss Rosanne is classic and can be used in so many designs.
