The last 10% of the build = 90% of the work. This is where most people that have made it this far, fail. You are charging through the challenges like a bull with a massive thinking cap. Impressive. Thanks for taking the extra time and effort to share this journey with us. Especially appreciate the sharing of your thought processes and occasional shortcomings.
This has been a great project to follow, I have been wanting to do something similar, just adapting a drivetrain with a manual transmission to an electric motor, just so I can drive manual every once in a while. It would be fun
Hi, Jeremy…yeah, that was me who suggested the Preval unit for applying the FVA…glad it worked for you! Your fabrication skills are amazing, equal to or better than many of the “pro’s” out there. Lots of work, I know, but the end result will be a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Really enjoy your content, thanks for taking us all on the journey with you. -Don
So true about the 10/90 thing. When anyone asks about building a component car the number 1 thing you have to have is ...... DRIVE. I say - Everything on this car is my fault, from door locks, AC system, glove boxes, switch gear, general engineering"... You comment on the door latching.... Car companies have maybe 10 engineers working on just that aspect, you on the other hand are one engineer responsible for every system on the car. I tuned in to the channel as I have long been interested in the K1, yet there is almost zero online information. Thanks for the effort and allowing others to asses the challenges associated with this manufacturer and the quality of the components (or lack thereof). You may be a car building rookie, but I'd bet you are an accomplished engineer/problem solver in some other field.build of one of these cars. Thank You.
Real nice Jeremy, it turned out even better than what the factory would have done. Heck yeah you’re pleased with the results even I’m pleased with it and it’s not even my car, thanks for the video catch you on the next one.
Im a long time viewer of your channel. I have a couple of tips that you could try or not it's all up to you. Instead of packing tape or painters tape try aluminum tape that has an adhesive backing to form anything you want to create. Not only does fiberglass not stick to it but you don't have to put drywall mud on it because it keeps a shape. Three things that fiberglass won't stick to is Aluminum foil or aluminum, wax paper and parchment paper like bakers use. Give that a try it could end up saving you time and effort. It also makes it quicker ! Just saying
It is good work. Are you still considering making the mock c-pillars to give the car a better hatch look? You had mocked some up in an earlier video and I think it would really improve the look.
Great videos, love the weekly update. I have a question : When I built my kit car many years ago, the door window panels bellowed outwards when driving along due to the low pressure on the outside of the window pane. Have you thought about this and how to combat the problem?
@@ElectricSuperCar More like the windows and frame would bend outwards at the roof if not strong and rigid. The air rushing over the outside creates low pressure, just like air rushing faster over the top of a plane wing creates lift.
Is the door going to clear the A pillar with that piece in front of the window? Looks good though. Glad you did that bottom strip to make the window more secure. Looks more like a factory thing vs an after thought that a rubber or foam gaskets would’ve looked like sitting on the bottom of the window. Keep up the good work. Did you choose a color yet?
Just curious is this a build that will allow you remove the panels and do convertible? is the roof and window panels going to be a permanent fixture? either way you did a great job on those panels way better then whatever the crap is you got with the kit, Looks Great.
How many pounds of dust has this project created?? I’m guessing it’s at least 40 lbs Again I will say that you have done an absolutely amazing job with this kit car
Another question, do you plan to paint your car in your garage? because the humidity temperature filtration etc, are not controlled. or you plan to take it to a car spray booth and paint it yourself?
@@ElectricSuperCar You could rent a paint booth for 100$ for a day and paint it your self if you want a perfect particle free paint. But I understand if you want to do a full DIY in your garage. Thanks for replying
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I saw a video that your ordered the kit, if it was already aligned from the manufacturer. why did you do a full overhaul and re alignment? it wasn't aligned when you got it? and why is that. what am I missing? thanks
At what point does the company making the kit reach out and offer to buy your molds so they can make a complete car without new customers having to go through all of this crazy work you’re doing? 😂
since you have the flimsy roof, why not make your own roof. A double bubble like the original 1966 batman car, with an extra brake light between the two bubble domes that can be seen by trucks and SUV's.
@@ElectricSuperCar so instead of fiberglass for the roof, use plexiglass. make a double bubble like the batman car of 1966. this would allow someone taller to sit in the car. keep making it better, not the same.
@@ElectricSuperCar maybe one big polycarbonate bubble roof for extra room for taller people, or perhaps two smaller bubble panels side by side, one above driver another above passenger, connected with a thin band of carbon fiber between them with a molded spot above back window for an extra brake light so bigger vehicles can see your stop lights.
Ivan, thanks for the comment! I am always trying to improve. Not sure what you mean by "Clickbait" photo. I am holding the door panel that I made in the video titled "making custom door panels". Doesn't seem like clickbait, but maybe I am misunderstanding.

@@ElectricSuperCar Welcome
I had no idea that buying a kit would involve all this extra work done to it. I guess you've now become the "Go-to" guy for help... :)
I had no idea either. Happy to help!
Gorgeous door panels! Can't wait to see the back end and final painted product.
So excited!

Great to see the levels of confidence in taking on challenging fabrication really ramp up recently.....brave and satisfying!

Seriously!
Damn, by this point you can rightfully say that you built everything yourself, including the body panels. Nothing left untouched anymore.
Maaan the car its looking amazing, both, with and without the roof on, nice job!

Each time you make so much progress, really nice work you're doing.

Your buck/molds and laying up parts is getting really good👍 You’re becoming quite the pattern maker.
Thanks 👍
WOW, you’re doing so much mods that make it look and work so much better. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations on the project! The car is very beautiful! I came through Jerry's channel 🙂

Sanding is indeed a terrific way to build biceps (and test one's patience). Your hand appears to be "swole" too. I trust that all is well?

Good to see progress being made. A bit of dust on the console. Hasn't been out much? Snowing etc? We're going into Autumn here in Australia.
