- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell tells "Face the Nation" that he stands by "everything" he said in the days and weeks after the Jan. 6 attack about former President Donald Trump's actions related to that day. "Obviously, it'll be up to the Supreme Court to decide whether I was correct," McConnell said.

McConnell is the REASON we still have to contend with Trump today! Had he been impeached the first and second time by McConnell Trump would have gone away for good and what a relief for America. His decisions have really hurt this country and he damn well knows it!
The irony is, had McConnell done the right thing, the GOP could have regrouped and had a viable candidate to run in 2024. Instead, they are stuck with a self/aggrandizing serial molester who is bent on plotting revenge rather than guiding this country back to a leadership role in the world.

But MITCH himself felt that NEITHER of them (Blackmailing another Nation and trying to instigate the first COUP in American History) were "Convictable" and so Mitch and several other GOP Senators voted NOT to convict Trump.
Mitch KNEW that it would take 67 Senators to Convict Trump and the Dems only had about 48.
He's the one who packed the court with judges who seem poised to make exceptions for Trump. Spare me what he says.

Brennan did not pull punches.....well-done. McConnell personifies the chaotic, disjointed nature of today's GOP. He gets a few things right (doing what's best for the country) and some major things wrong (e.g., refusing to outright reject an Insurrectionist running for POTUS) and mostly spends time wallowing in the mud, being unproductive.

Where the Constitution requires the president to: “…take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed…”, DJT can only be described as "oxymoronic" because he must have acted outside his presidential duties in order to require immunity for crimes he committed in office. The demand for immunity actually establishes the abrogation of his oath to “…defend the Constitution…”, which compels the Supreme Court to rescind any privileges of his office. If SCOTUS grants immunity, all oaths of office, affidavits and sworn statements to the government are just perfunctory and hold no legal obligation.
