    I love the look of the case, but the price point and the temps make me once again acknowledge just how good the Cooler Master NR200 is for it's price, customization options and size...

      Nr200 is way too big for it to be called an itx. But its also less than $100 and has amazing airflow.

    • @georgie3908

      @MrMilkyCoco case that is over or right about 20l is not considered as an itx case so

    • @georgie3908
      @georgie3908 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      plus nr200 is still a itx case. It’s 18l so. I agree that is bigger than others itx cases. But still an itx case.

    I really enjoy Phanteks design language. Using Evolv Shift for 3 years and love it, this case also looks great, with minor bugs that they will probably fix in the future iterations, just like they did with Evolv Shift.

  • @NickBaysingar
    @NickBaysingar 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

    This is actually pretty sick. Honestly, the CPU and GPu temps you were getting with the NH-L12s and two exhaust fans at the top is very reasonable considering the amount of horsepower being packed in to such a small enclosure. I doubt you would ever have to worry about any kind of thermal throttling.

  • @roebucksruin
    @roebucksruin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The 9600K is a 90W chip, and your Low Profile Cooler is usually for 65W. In an ITX, I bet all temps would benefit from a 65W CPU.

    I've been wanting to build an ITX form factor for the absolute longest and when this case was made available I purchased the case/PSU combo. This case comes off aesthetically pleasing. As for thermals it isn't the best and isn't the worse either. The true test will be when I start overclocking CPU & GPU.

  • @EdwinPohan
    @EdwinPohan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Looks interesting and has some okay gimmick but airflow really needs to be given extra attention. The only choice seems to be the upper exhaust fans to dissipate heat.

  • @disciprine
    @disciprine 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Thank you for talking about the cooling issues with the case. I originally bought the evolve Matx based on your old review and was Incredibly unhappy with the thermals, despite no issue being mentioned in the video. It seems like phanteks always has this issue.
    With the amazing thermals of the NR200 there is no reason for bad thermals in this day and age with sff

      I bought the Phantex P300 and I have had no issues with cooling. I also like it a lot easy to swap parts, love the wire management. And have had little dust getting in to the pc.

    Interesting case, love the Drgb as you call it hahaha, cracked me up. Designing and 3d printing a vertical stand shouldn't be that hard, or even 4 tall rubber feet to keep it simple. With this termal performance this case is more for a midrager PC if we want to keep it truly compact, but the option for aio is a welcome addition

  • @zgoaty9235
    @zgoaty9235 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nick from Gear Seekers mentioned that the dust filters restrict cooling capacity quite a bit and that removing them for him dropped temps by a few degrees C, but that comes at a cost of letting dust have unrestricted access to the components so it’s a “pick your poison” type of situation.

    • @michaelkreitzer1369
      @michaelkreitzer1369 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Running the top fans as exhaust makes the dust filters pointless anyway. They'd need to be intake to get positive pressure, forcing air in only through the filters.

    I got that Zotac, I literally cut off an inch of the end shroud to place it into an i9 Extreme gen 1 NUC. LUCKILY it was literally like a hairs length from the fan shroud housing. Was probably the scariest thing I've ever done with tech I paid WAY TOO MUCH FOR. BUT knew that going into it. Mine's a 2070 Super which was supposedly the max supported with the power supply inside the NUC.

    For someone like me who likes to undervolt and not overclock, all this tells me is that this case is perfect for me since even when you overclocked the CPU it didn't thermal throttle.

    I feel like all itx build should prioritise minimising the footprint more than the actual volume. Smaller volume is great but if the case still have the same footprint as a mid tower whats the point? I feel like the reason people want an itx build is to have a smaller footprint pc sitting on their desk. Also, acoustic, its sitting on your desk, you want it to be as silent as itx can be. Which is why i think, personally the meshlicous is the ultimate itx case. I like the design of the phanteks, but if it can have a smaller footprint, its going to take meshlicous away from my cart.

    Dang, that's a bit disappointing. That's the first case I've seen in the past few years that I thought was quite aesthetically pleasing. But roasting a GPU for aesthetics isn't an option. The price is a bit above where I would have liked it too be ($150), but it's not too bad of a stretch given the quality of the materials.
