- My new ITX gaming PC build is done and I took a strictly MINIMALISTIC approach in the Fractal Terra case. With (some) sensible components in the Fractal Terra this build is something I've been dreaming of and it provides an amazing balance of performance, cooling and clean looks.

I love the shout-out to Optimum Tech for help. I think he's been one of the biggest influences for the SFF community. That extra step for custom cables would certainly clean it up! Let's see an HC/OT collab!
Optimum Tech is the 🐐🐐🐐
I still don't understand why so many builds of big channels don't have custom cables. DIY of custom cables has been around for AGES, it was perfected many many years ago, and if they're in USA they could get cablemod if time allowed and didn't want to do it themselves
i legit clicked on this video thinking it was optimum tech
Not sure why he didn't just go with an sf750 and a custom 16 pin for the gpu.
@@ab185 He frequently draws content ideas from the SFFnetwork forums without even a link on video descriptions to help support the community. He's famous but he stands on the shoulder of giants he does not acknowledge. It's a bit disappointing he finds the time to add affiliate links but consistently neglects the giant community where he draws inspiration and knowledge from...
The cinematography is second to none in the tech space, absolutely incredible shots
I agree ! It's like movie quality !
Yup. Got some Optimum Tech vibes from the intro
For sure, this channel and Optimum’s both have great camera work
One of my favorite videos from you Eber, enjoyed the discussion and background on component selection and the build process, great shots / editing as well! This is a great window into the passion that drives this hobby!
Everybody who gets this case talks about using the bottom fan mount as intake, which I don't understand. The GPU and CPU have sufficient intake since they are both right next to the side panels. Both tend to then dump their heat within the case so if anything the bottom mount should always be used for exhaust.
Hot air rises. Why not take advantage of that?
@@MonkeyZeus194 Convection is extremely weak, usually almost negligible. The thing is, the replacement air has to come from somewhere if you set it to exhaust, which could end up recycling hot air anyway. I'm not sure it makes much difference at all.
I remember a video from Optimum Tech finding that setting the bottom fans to exhaust on these SFF cases to be better than setting them to intake. So, you're right.
Sometimes it’s nice to come to a pc channel that isn’t all about the biggest-baddest pc tech but is more just a chill vibe around pc’s and building them. I don’t always watch y’all’s videos but when I do, they’re always top-tier and have my attention the whole way through. 🍻
The build looks amazing! Also, love the Optimum Tech shoutout. He’s the entire reason I got into SFF builds
theres nothing worse than wanting a pc so bad but you can never afford to get one and watch videos like this and depress yourself
Just buy it parts by parts
Only cpu and gpu is missing in my build
ull get there one day man
Save your money as best as possible and or buy it piece by piece
I don't get depressed but think about time when I will grow up and buy it myself. I don't feel depressed but I become excited and happy.
For my last 2 builds I have shortened original power cables. You don't have to throw them away and buy expensive custom sets. All you need is to shorten one end of like 3 cables, which is 50% less work. Requires minor investment in tools and pins which is roughly in line with popular extension cable sets. But you learn a new skill and the fit will be perfect. And eventually you can do full color custom setups if you decide to do so or could recycle cut cables for different projects since those lose ends already have pin on one end.
I learned from Optimum Tech. Except I use hot knife to cut original sleeves/insulation. So you cut and melt/fix them in one move. Works good enough for me.
If you want a cheap and easy undervolt, I would mess with your LLC (load line calibration) in the bios. This will adjust your vcore voltage ranges. Throw it on cinebench between each level to see if it falls in line with what you want. Works well on 13th gen
Welcome to SFF! I really feel you on the fitment issues, that's something I experienced in when I first got into SFF. Great build, I'm super impressed with the thermals. I have the Louqe Raw S1 and love the look.
I have to agree, these are absolutely beautiful cases. I particularly love the Jade and the Black case for the way they look with the wood trim on the front.
Awesome work with the B-roll footage composition, the editing, and the music.
I’ve been loving SFF more and more, what a build!
Excellent craft. Beautiful machine, music, and build sequence. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Masterpiece.
I agree. I just got this case. My favorite case to build in, use, and look at, of all time. Its incredible.
Those product shots are awesome and a great visual design.....
Right choices. Is rare these days to see big channels building a pc that actually makes sense.
The cinematography is *chef's kiss* good. Beautifully shot.
This came out great. Thanks for the video. It was well needed after today’s work day. That 4070 was a great choice and looks fantastic. Cheers!
Thanks 👍
I love my Terra. I ended up building it with a 6800xt and a 5700x. At first, I tried fitting the case with a Noctua NH-L9x65, but the temperature of the GPU and CPU were pretty bad. I ended up using a smaller cooler and I found that putting the gpu further away from the grate side-panel helped keep my temperature low. It runs great now.
What’s the smaller cooler you are using?
The much shorter Noctua L9a!
hey man how are temps within differnet games your playing currently
Such a great looking and compact build. glorious.
Great pc building video. It was amazingly satisfying, and I really enjoyed every single second of the content.
i bought that exact GPU a week ago, and it really is super quiet.
Beautiful build.
This is actually the first time ever I see a build that I would like to own too and that’s coming from someone that usually owns more than one pc….the quality of video of yours is superb btw
This is an amazing build Eber! One of my top favorite PC builds for sure!
Beautiful build! Thanks for sharing
What an amazing video... I can't believe I haven't seen a lot of your videos until I needed to find something about a mini PC.
One of the best builds I’ve seen so far!
Hardware Canucks have the best B Roll on YT. Love Eber's videos, amazing audio.
I did a 5800x3d with 4090FE in Terra. Id cooling IS55 for CPU and a Noctua exhaust under GPU. Undervolted the amd and have a custom fan curve. Love it so far, it’d powerful, not too noisy, and looks lovely on the desk.
I have a 5800x3d also what mobo did you go with
@@ethaneaves_04 I reused the asus b450-i from my previous PC.
I just built my first gaming PC in years and went with the Terra case as well. It's such a clean looking case and was super easy to get up and running
Beautiful job. Love the whole build.
Love the Mass Effect inspired track during the build sequence
Perfect. I just built in the new Corsair d2000 I absolutely love this case. The i7 was a no brainer for me also
Great video. What an awesome build!
Excellent presentation. Excellent looking build.
I've been holding off on buying a prebuild, let alone attempting to build my own gaming pc.
But this has made me rethink the decision.
That green case is gorgeous.
I picked up a Jade model of the Terra and love how it looks. I mostly moved a lot of components I already had into it from my main built that was having some heat issues in the ITX case it was in. I was using a Ryzen 5 5600x with a Noctua NH-L9a and while it was able to keep it cool, it was a little too loud. I swapped it out for a NH-L9x65 and now it is pretty much silent even when gaming. GPU is an MSI RTX 3070 Ventus 2x. I have been very happy with the build over all and especially the case, though I wish I had not gotten RGB RAM.
Recognised the box for that GPU in the background as soon as the video started. I have that exact one, it's so gorgeous, I wish I could attach build pics here
Build looks amazing really want to get this case
this one almost had me won over but after seeing ali from optimumtech jam a 4090 and 7800x3d into the new dancases and have it average 60 to 70c that one just seems unbeatable
Yeah but the cooling components are like a thousand additional buckeroos
@@vincentvega3093 you need to pay attention....... it was a noctua and an FE card. Learn to read better.
@@vincentvega3093 oh it was more about the case itself i meant, you could shove whatever you wanted into it or the same parts ebert used if one wanted, ali did make an aircooled version of it too tho that didnt spend thousands on cooling but was just noisier which is the usual for aircooling anyways.
Optimum is just built different, the true goat
Agreed, I'm rocking a 13900k with a 4090 in the Formd T1 sames as OT, but I only cool the cpu, and the 4090 fe is air cool
So jealous!
What an awesome build 😄
I want one! 😊😄
Yes! Love compact builds like this.
Good luck finding this case in stock!
I have this EXACT GPU. My upgrade from a 3060ti, and it is SO insanely good! Perfect for power to performance to size imo. I blast the vast majority of my games at 90-120fps at 4k with all the eye candy on. Amazing choice!
Nice looking build, I have a graphite Terra and have been really enjoying it. When you talk to Optimum Tech about cables ask him about fan setup in sandwich style cases, you want the bottom fan as exhaust because intake just recycles the GPU exhaust.
really nice build, if i was doing a new itx build for myself it wouldn't be too far off from this
beautiful build, brother!
Video production is on next level.
I have the Asus Dual 4070 and love it! Quiet and powerful it meets my needs.
This is very well made, i love this case! Very slick and minimalistic! Dunno how i can do this with my 3080. But daym! Its so nice! 😎👍🏻🔥
It's a beautiful machine, but your editing skills in this video are the true star of the show. 😮
I have my machine built in a Loque Raw S1, and I posted a few photos of my build on my IG, but it doesn't even begin to compare to your build vid.
Such a nice built, good job ! I have pretty much all the same components but paired with a 4090 FE. Because of the cpu cooling limitation brought by the gpu, I went with the A4 H20 and its super good looking....but that Terra.
Impressive build and temps
This is such a cool build. Almost makes me a little annoyed I just built my first computer ever and did it in a 5000D, 4080. I do absolutely love it, but your build is just sleek. Nicely done.
Don't be annoyed while they look cool making everything fit in these little cases can be very frustrating. Itx probably isn't a good first build but definitely try it in your next build
Love the build! One thing I would change is the cooler to the Thermalright AXP120-x67. Same height and clearance as the Big Shuriken 3, but it has an extra heat pipe which REALLY sets it apart from the Big Shuriken 3. On top of that the fins on the cooler are orientated vertically so the path of air flow is much smoother, making the cooler much more efficient. I've had both and tested both in my FormD T1 and I would definitely give it a look if you want to tame the CPU a bit more.
On the end note of a potential 120mm fan on the bottom, you'd actually want it to be an exhaust. that'll promote more air pulling through the side panels to help the GPU cooler more effectively.
I keep seeing this reference to horizontal and vertical fin orientation. What does it mean?
@@Notorious544d it’s referring to the fins that the heat pipe go through. If the fins are up and down vertically in the same orientation as your airflow then it doesn’t have to make a 90 degree turn to exit the cooler.
That's a good looking cpu, clean and streamlined
i built this same box. it was noisy while running like you would not believe.
i ended up dremmeling out the sides and replacing the slots with screen material from a literal screen window. the metal kind not that nylon stuff. i washed it with some muriatic acid to get it nice and silvery. but that didn't look right so i ended up painting it with black high temp exhaust spray paint. it has a great flat black appearance, and it's what i had kinda like the screen.
anyway! now the box runs cool and very reasonably quiet.
Dam this was such a amazing build now I'm stuck now between the Fractal design ridge and the Fractal Terra I have the NR200P right now its amazing but I'm looking to downsize my PC case even more but keep the amazing performance.
Great build! 👍🙂
I really love the wood on it. I still hope for a case like that but with liquid cooling compatibility and the option to swap between glass and mesh panels
Just go with the meshlicious, wood gets old fast
@@michaelgrover1 I like the look of old wood
I really love the new asus dual GPU design, looks clean and the temperature is really good for a small card
Definitely will take some of this components into consideration. I'd change the K seriee CPU to a non K variant since I'm no creator and probably just move everything down from there. But I'll definitely choose that GPU option since it looks sick. Otherwise, this is an exceptionally clean build.
I built MY dream ITX PC recently too! It's a bit smaller at ~4.5L, while still pulling 5800X3D/RTX 3070 ti performance!
This makes me feel like going back to my ITX roots
I tip my hat to you. It's very cool looking. All of those issues you ran into and subsequent mods you made are why I just always say screw it and throw everything into a mid tower 🤣
Wow... Hopefully I can build that kind of PC too this year. It's so beautiful 😢
This is the case I’ll be using on my first new pc in 7 years. Still to decide in what colour though, silver will probably age best.. great combo of components though!
One of the best looking GPU's I've ever seen.
Great pc, great video, great job!
very beautiful video and case :)
That drive speed is bonkers
Asus knocked it out of the park with the Dual OC cards redesign and the pro art series. Very good looking cards
Just beautiful! Nothing else to say.
Sick!! my custom loop one is coming
glad that u managed to build the perfect itx PC for you. I just want to mention that maybe A4h2O would be better for your case considering that it can fit a 240 aio cooler to control the horse of an i7 13th CPU, with a 3 slots GPU, and almost the same size
Gotta say... you guys do know how to build superb looking computers and those b-roll shots. WOW! Keep it up!
wow envy the build🤩
It also funcions as a small room heater during winter ;)
I am not good at building anything so if I could buy a pre-built like this I'd do that for sure! I am trying to figure out how to make a minimalist den/office setup using something like this so I can upgrade the work from home setup :) I am also a fan of that color.
This case was announced a couple weeks after I received my Formd T1. I'm happy with my build but damn I wish Fractal could've gotten this one out sooner so I didn't have to spend so much for a nice sandwich ITX PC. No regrets on the quality of the T1 though, it's a beast.
How did we end-up admiring the amazing craftsmanship put into ... a box? ... Just a box that houses electronic components.
Great build. Good call on no rgb.
thank you for sharing this vdo help alot
I would've gone with i5 13600K honestly. i7 runs pretty hot with that cooler.
and more budget friendly
nice bulid! would love something like that for my bed room allready put togeather lol
so clean!!
The overhang on the big shuriken 3 is intended to go over the rear I/O and not over the memory. It should clear the rear I/O and allow any height of memory to be used.
It doesn't in this situation. Hence why Scythe is releasing a new one this year.
I mean if you're going to talk about CPUs drawing too much power, id hope you go with amd, but if it works, ok lol. Could probably do a 7900x3d on ECO mode and have more room for gaming + streaming with more cores. If you really want quicksync I guess that's your prerogative
Looks good as hell in the end!
yeah, that 850 is really overkill, i use my 5950x and 4080 on 600w still fine
I figured from the thumbnail that the build would be with fractal terra. Superb case!
Yeah that what they call FPS2 card has no pin outs or manual info! For anyone one wondering the + pin on the power LED is towards the right ( I would assume it's the same for hdd light.).
I love ITX builds
Keep an eye out on those Gen 5 SSDs. They are known to overheat and hit like 70+ °C
Love the look of the Terra... Hate the high price . Such a shame , but will have to find a case that fits my budget Excellent build
I love the build and the video was great I would have just liked to have seen how he had to adjust the PC spine for the cooler as I want to do this exact build
It's so beautiful! Kudos to whoever did all the amazing cinematography.
Thanks for a great video. Are you still happy with the build? I heard that some people have noise issues with fans too close to the side panel, because of the way they made the ventilation holes.
I would certainly like to see how the 13700k does under a full workload. Been thinking about this case a lot myself, and I'm acknowledging that I would have to make some compromises to build in it, but if I can still get away with a workhorse of a cpu, I'll be happy as a clam!
Why not go for a 7900 non-x then? It's limited to about 88w and runs very cool.
You can always make a custom acrylic/glass cover if you want to show the interior.
Nice ITX PC!
