Horned Adder drinking

Bitis caudalis is a venomous viper species found in the arid region of southwest Africa, easily distinguished by the presence of a single, large horn-like scale over each eye.
Horned adders do not drink from water bowls in captivity, so it's important to hydrate the snake by misting it weekly with a spray bottle. The snake will flatten it's body and tilt it so that water droplets form along it's back where it can be sipped up.
