- Thinking about buying a bay boat? I have found the top contender for the money in the new SeaPro 248. This boat is well equipped and it's 30k dollars cheaper than the competition. I drove over to Sunray Marine to meet with Ken and the owners and I must say, I was very impressed with their knowledge and a vast selection of boats. We jumped on the 248 and Ken showed us all the very minute features that make the 248 a hidden gem, especially for boat captains or anyone serious about flats fishing with the ability to fish offshore. In this episode, we highlight some of the following:

When opening the hatches, I was super impressed by the finish and weight alone of the lids. You can usually tell if something is of quality just by the feel and I am confident that SeaPro didn’t skimp on the build of this awesome bay boat. She also comes in at 24’8” long and 3000 pounds dry, that is a ton of boat, but I know she will eat up three footers when the weather gets rough.

Hey Joshua....I own a 1998 Sea Pro 180 CC first of the no wood Sea Pro boats, purchased the boat brand new in 98, 21 years ago boat and motor 98 Yamaha 115, still going strong, I cant say enough about the quality of these boats. My Sea Pro has been great other than normal maintenance it has never given me any problems. That 248 is beautiful....Good luck, hope you find what your looking for... Let me just say that if I were looking for a newer boat, Sea Pro would be it......best bang for the buck...

I purchased a 2018 248 from them last year. You get a lot of boat for the money compared to similar models. The Suzuki is the best part of the boat. I do 50mph no problem with the 250hp but 300 or 350 would just be better but not necessary. Buying experience was great, however service is terrible. Plan to have it tied up for 4-6 weeks since they dont take appointments even with warranty issues. My t-top speakers have holes in them since the manufacturer left all the fiberglass cuttings inside the top. Underwater lights rusted out in a month and my boat is trailered. All Cleats are beginning to rust from within and those livewell hinges rust from the inside. I also replaced both livewell pumps myself since I cant afford to wait 6 weeks for them to get around to it because I use my boat a few times a week. The boat handles and performs very well and is solid and nicely finished. Even though its not perfect , I still love it and think its a good value even with the few hiccups. I get lots of compliments and its definitely a head turner. Good luck with your decision but I would recommend somewhere else for service.

65k with 250hp Suzuki minus trailer and sales tax. Its been 2 years now since I purchased and I’m still in love with it. Added a power pole and trolling motor last year and have had no major issues. I do most of the engine maintenance myself and use it 2-3 times a week.
Obviously she'd perform much better in flat water, but what kind of seas have you ventured into on it and how was the experience vs some other boats? (if you've had the experience)

I’ve been in 3-4 ft chop with no problem. The boat is very stable and the ride is better than the Pathfinder 2450. It cuts through waves with no problem and drafts 15 inches for the flats. Its the best of both worlds and is perfect for the Florida west coast. The gas tank is 70 gallons so it’s not an offshore boat but would have no problem going out 20 miles or so.
I looked at the sea pro 248s and ended up with a key west.
Love the rubber gaskets around each well. It keeps the boat quiet when hitting those waves.
Beautiful boat and nicely done video. There's no stainless that won't rust so if a lifetime warranty on all the hardware is one of their selling points, I'd go over the "fine print" on the warranty.
I think they are saying hey, if you have any problems we will take care of you. Saltwater tends to damage everything if not maintained well.
I’m the owner of the 172 that Ken briefly mentioned early in the video. I’ve been very happy with Sunray and Sea Pro. Ken is absolutely awesome to work with. Sunray also did a great job rigging our boat. I highly recommend anyone looking for a boat to stop by Sunray and check out their offerings.

Finished gelcoat is also easy to keep clean under those hatches.

I work in the boat industry too, and we cannot keep Sea Pro in stock! They should be building planes because they fly out of the yard!! Best center console period.
Saw it first hand at the Miami boat show this year and it caught my eye immediately. Very comfortable and lots of room. My only complaint about about it is I won’t be on it when you purchase it lol

Joshua Taylor what I enjoyed the most was the center console and tower. It just stood out from everything else I saw. Storage space, tilt wheel and the seat placement was on point. That step heading towards the bow I thought was a nice touch. Living near Biscayne Bay it’s definitely something I saw myself (hopefully one day) using to cruise with the family yet having her ready to go to for those epic fishing days.
Good information. Another good video. Maybe Ill have to go down there when I'm a little more comfortable in the area and looking to get out on the water on my own.

Nice boat. Liked the anchor lid speaking from someone that had one fall on my toe. Not sure about reaching for the rear bait well over the seat cover lid. Might get old after awhile.
Nice boat Capt. Lots of room and storage to boot. I especially like the little "Chris Cabin" but you would need to put a lock on it. (from the outside...lol) Sign above it saying "ALMOST Capt. This seems to be a bit overkill to catch some redfish and speckled trout.
Kind of like people spending 65,000 on a boat to catch bass.
For a bay boat, I bought a 16ft carolina skiff for 8,000.

That is a tough decision, I looked at both and they are both very nice. You lose a little draft with the v series but she can handle some chop.

Are Seapro better than tidewater and key west? I love key west’s for the integrated full rear bench seat looks really nice

Robalo is top of mid tier boats, then Key West followed by Sea Hunt, Sea Pro is a bit down the line along with Turdwater
@@brandycunningham4383man I tell ya money doesn’t buy more boat. Sea Pro wants 100K plus on 248s with a zuke. I got a Key West 250 with a 300 Yamaha and got a much better price on a brand new boat. The key west is lighter but can also cut chop better. Love my pick.

Hey. Would you recommend this for offshore stuff? Like where I live, the rigs are only 15-20 miles off the shore. Would that be a dumb idea to ride this boat out? Thanks
15 to 20 miles on good weather days would not be an issue for this boat.
I have a 2018 Seapro 208... 20' 8" length with over 325 hours so far of use on the Suzuki 140. I have had the boat offshore 45 miles out of Ponce Inlet, FL for Red snapper season last year. Went out 2 days in a row and slayed some snappers. I also took it out of Jupiter Inlet one day in Dec 2018 and the marine forecast was 15-20 knot winds and 5' to 8'+ seas... never took water over the bow. Of course the wind sprayed us with lots of water, but we had on rain gear. Only made it out 8 miles and turned back to fish the inside of inlet to wait for the weather to clear up. The boat will handle rough seas.
timdude50 how many people can you seat comfortably, I’m looking at the 208 also but the wife is worried we won’t be comfortable on it with if we were to bring some friends out say 4adults and three kids for example. We may have to go up in size but I like the price tag on the 208

I looked on Boat Trader. The majority of them said to call for price. The one listing I found for this model a 2020 was priced right around $60,000

Mine is 2018 219 deep v. I have gel coat cracking and rust forming on all stainless. Very disappointed. Their statement is a lie. Sunray marine has serious customer service issues. I am now trying to find a dealer to fix my issues with my new Sea Pro. Do your homework, I'm not the only one with these problems I have been told.
