  • I've had a lot of issues with autofocus on my Logitech Brio webcam and needed something I could manually adjust. I narrowed it down to these two cameras. This video does a comparison of the two

    Excellent review. Ihave to say I liked the MOKOSE color better because it was more blue while the ELP was more Yellow. But I am with you that all the other reasons have caused me to go with the ELP. Thanks again!

    Just a thought, have you tried recording in QuickTime or VLC to see if it freezes? I’ve had issues with OBS freezing on different cameras.

    Thank you. Are these cameras suitable to use as a webcam for Zoom meeting? How they are compared to Logitech Brio 4K or StreamCam?

    The newest Mokose UC70 firmware is stable for me. The former firmware was not. When you upgrade firmware, you get the option of naming the camera UC70-1, UC70-2, or UC70-3 by selecting a one of 3 firmware files. This makes it easier to add 3 cameras because you can see which camera is which. I use the 1/1.7" 12MP 3.2mm f/2.0 cs-mount lens, which is almost as wide as GoPro. I wish it had a lower aperture, f/2.0 isn't enough light and is noisy in most low-light rooms, but it looks really good with more light. I also really like the Mokose C100. Get the one with the 85-degree lens for an M12 lens, the ones with varifocal lenses have a built-in IR cut filter and you can't use M12 lenses with them. Also, check out the Mokose C200. They have a new optical Zoom camera, the UC90A, which is a 1080p IP camera with HDMI and 10x optical zoom.

    thanks for this review! I'm interested in cameras like these for overhead recording, and it has been really helpful. could you link to where you read about the mokose freezing problems to know more about?

      It's possible there is just something weird about my computer setup and it might work fine on yours. Here is a forum post about a Mokose USB camera freezing in OBS: www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4553286#forum-post-64842197

    Interesting. I haven’t tried the ELP but I have the Mokose but mine has a 5-50mm zoom. I’ve left mine running a full week and so far never had a frozen screen.
    I also have two with HDMI output. One with 2.8-12mm and the other is 6-12mm. All have adjustable aperture. None of mine have had a freezing issue. The c100 had HDMI, USB 3.0 and a micro SD card slot. It works to 256gb and will record to SD while using HDMI or USB outputs.
    The main issue is the lag in HDMI capture cards. I’m having to run approximately 300ms delay i. OBS to sync the audio.
    On a Mac you don’t have availability to camera settings like you do on a PC but the HDMI cameras have OSD settings available so you can control everything.
    I find I don’t really need the filters in OBS with the HDMI cameras.
    Thanks for the review.

      Hi Only My Opinion Tech, I think we have different model cameras. The one I tested didn't have an HDMI output, only USB 3.0. It sounds like the one you have is more reliable though :)

      @@curlytalegames2609 I have three. Two HDMI and one with only USB-A.
      It has an option for three different lenses. I chose the 5-50mm to use for overhead shots but the actual camera is the same as yours. They use C/CS lenses.
      There is also an option for a non-zoom lens that is manual focus that is 3.2mm.
      The 5-50mm has a great zoom but it’s a bit tight as a webcam. Since it’s manual focus it needs to be close enough to reach or you could move it farther away and just leave it focused for your sitting position.
      Have a great day and be safe out there!

    I'm debating on whether to get the Mokose, ELP or Arducam (preferably with the Sony IMX starvis sensor, or similar low light sensor), to connect to my Android phone with the app "USB camera", and use as a bodycam and dashcam.
    I was going to use a low light USB webcam to connect to my phone, but figured I'm better off putting out the extra $$ and getting a low light variable focal lens USB camera. It will come in handy.
    Does anyone have any suggestions for the best camera that fits that description.?

    Hey there!
    My uncle is considering to buy a Mokose camera for dentistry. He’s expecting either to attach the camera to the light of the dental chair or to his magnifying lenses.
    Could you tell us which is the minimum focusing distance of this camera?
    Thanks 🙂🙌🏼

      That's fun! Unfortunately I don't have the Mokose camera anymore, however I just tested the ELP camera and I could read text on a piece of paper that was pressed up against the lens. I had to pull the paper back slightly and shine a light across it, but it looks like the focus distance is 0. Both of the cameras are pretty similar so I would imagine the Mokose would be the same.

    Which would you say produces more accurate colors? There's quite the discrepancy between the two in this footage.

    • @curlytalegames2609
      @curlytalegames2609  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      What I showed in the video was what the colors looked like out of the box. Neither one was accurate by default. The SVPRO ELP camera is a little green and Mokose 4k was a little purple/blue. If you play with the built in camera settings you can get it better. You can also do color correction in OBS to get the colors looking how you want them :)

    Will the freezing problem occur on HDMI output as well ???

    • @curlytalegames2609
      @curlytalegames2609  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cameras I tested only had USB output. From what I've read online the issue of the freezing image is caused by not enough bandwidth on the USB 3.0 port and people recommended if you were getting freezing to try a different port. None of the USB 3.0 ports on my computer worked reliably with the Mokose 4K camera. It might work fine for you but it didn't work for me.

    Why don't you try the other ELP camera that has 4K60 with USB3 and HDMI output ? The HDMI port should be able to handle true 4K60. You're not going to get 60 fps over any USB port even if it's USB3.

    Hi @CurlyTaleGames Thanks for sharing your opinion. This is really helpful for me. Just subscribed to your channel. Could you do me a favor? I am looking for some test videos of cams where a table tennis ball can be seen in action. I am streaming tablesoccer aka foosball and on a pro-level which is then a quite fast game. I am looking for a cam which has a good pic quality, and can stream at least 1080p with minimum 60fps and over some hours without over heating. A an external power supply and (in an optimal world) with external microphone input (but if tehr is no input for a mike, it is not a big deal). Could you do me the favor and produce some test vid with the cams you have with a table tennis ball bouncing on a table from some hight and a distance of let's say 2 meters or 6,5 feet ? The connection of such a cam can be in done via HDMI or USB. Do you may have other solutions in your mind based on my request?
    Thanks and greetings from germany. (and sorry for my dump english)
