I was about to get the same BUZZKEN kit for my 328d, i just have a couple questions before i put down the money. Because it does not have cats, how noticeable is the smell? How is the noise inside the car, or inside the car with the windows down. I would really appreciate if you can answer these for me.
is there some sort of valve in the exhaust that opens and closes related the throttle? car seems to have a raspy noise when revving in the beginning but then when you come back and rev it, it doesn't do it right away, but does towards the end again.
I have a 328d wagon and was thinking about getting either the full cat back exhaust or the dpf/scr delete from buzzken... does this need to be paired with a tune to acheive a good sound and which do you prefer? Thanks!
Spencer Han hey there man! A cat back only won’t delete your DPF. The BUZZKEN kit will give you a downpipe which deletes your DPF and a midpipe. You can run your stock rear portion of the exhaust, get a cat back to complete it, or like me make it all straight piped. If you get just a cat back exhaust you won’t hear much of a difference. The largest restriction in our exhaust is the DPF and rear muffler, which I’ve eliminated both
Semir Alic thank you! I think I’m going to just delete the dpf, if I can find a way to do that. Is this an easy job to do or is this something I should take in to a shop?
Spencer Han I did it myself with one other friend on jack stands! It was kind of a B word but overall not the worst job out there. I would recommend a 2nd hand for assistance, but you can definitely do it in your own garage
Exhaust sounds good, what's the whistle though? Turbo or a air leak somewhere I have a whining on sounds a bit a like a dump valve , started happening after a EGR clean think I've got a leak
Salam Hassan, I had to custom build the egr delete kit there isnt one on the market for US spec cars. The Dinan tune was just plug and play I eventually had DUDMD tune it stage 2+ and that was much much better then dinan. The power was amazing after a true tune. They do remote tuning so you can do it all from your home!
That's correct! car never has gone into limp mode or felt like it struggled. I've been running this set up for about 2 years now and no issues what so ever! It does have a Check engine light due to the exhaust. midpipe doesn't come with o2 sensor bungs but if you welded new ones on it would throw no codes!
@@juanrodriguez-nv7ql www.dinancars.com/products/software-tuning/engine-tuning/inline-modules/dinantronics-sport/parts/D440-0045 It was good for the time being you'll notice small difference but if you want a good tune contact DUDMD tuning in Washington state and they can flash it remotely!
Paul Schlacter yes I left that alone there’s really no restrictions even with that cat since it’s high flow. On cold starts you can definitely smell it and I’m sure if you drive behind me and I get on it, you’ll get a scent of diesel haha
@@SemirAlic Gotcha, thanks for the response. I was currently looking at the kit and would definitely want the cat. Somebody said on the forums its pretty strong otherwise. Only downside is it's like $2200 for the parts and tune alone. Did you install yourself or how long did it take at a shop to swap the parts?
@@paulschlacter4181 yeah a buddy and I worked on it in my garage! it wasn't very difficult since the Buzzken is direct fit so it works great! I did have a missing vband or one wasn't provided so i had to order a new vband that connected the new deleted dpf (downpipe) to the turbo. I also have my muffler deleted which makes it a bit louder and deeper, im sure if you kept the stock muffler it would not be as loud or smell as much!
Awesome video dude and ever cooler car. I tried following your Instagram but maybe its inactive now. Could you provide a link to where you purchased the Straight pipe, also when you purchase the buzzken DPF delete it requires the stage 3 tune they sell on tunemyeuros website, is this not required as you dont have the same tune? Thank you.
Hey hope all is well! The exhaust is from a company called Buzzken, if you google search it you will find the set up! its a downpipe and midpipe, I had a shop delete the muffler which made it full straight. I run the DinanTronics tuner and have had no issues, runs great. I plan on getting a true stage 2 tune in the near future
Taylor Ghazarian hey man, yeah here and there it does smoke a little! Under load it does. It’s a 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder it doesn’t create as much smoke compared to a 6 or 8 cylinder diesel. I recently deleted the EGR also!
First 328D? No haha there's a lot of them in North America. Europe didn't get them they got the f30 320d, 330d, and 335d. us in North America didn't get any of those just the f30 328d. E90 335d but not f30
Nice man, what kind of power are you putting out? I just deleted my muffler, and I have the afe air intake system on its way currently. Planning on possibly buying the kerma TDI tune next week.
Semir Alic are you guessing those numbers or are they accurate to ur knowledge? I’ve heard of 328d’s making close 300rwhp and 400rwtq with full deletes and properly tuned? I’ve been emailing kerma and supposedly their tune plus the air intake is supposed to take my 328d to around 270rwhp and 370rwtq, and that’s with no deletes.
Semir Alic actually I was mistaken just looked at the graph again and the two together are supposed to increase the hp by 70 and torque by 100. Which is still impressive considering there’s no deletes.
Fernando Gonzalez the numbers above are just rough estimates to what I feel like the power is! The Dinan also claimed similar hp gains to other companies with no delete. the Kerma TDI is a great option if you don’t plan on deleting it! I was looking into a stage 2 DUMD tune which claims ~280whp and ~370tq but they have a 328d with a delete and intercooler that hit 400tq so that’s my plan. A solid stage 2 tune and intercooler should get me to around 370-400 tq no problem
Josip Radić yes sir! I’m not too sure how the nm torque is calculated but yeah with full stage 2 I’ve seen the numbers around 280hp and 380-400 tq. Mine is a 328D I think it’s the same engine as 320D. The n47
Hey man, I have a stock intake the only one I have really seen available for these is the AFE one but I don't know if spending $400-$500 on a intake is worth it lol
Awesome video. I was wondering with the Dinan tuner if you noticed any change in fuel economy? Better or worse?

No valves i would like to do valves soon would be kinda interesting to see the difference. It’s not raspy at all in my opinion very deep honestly
