You’re only going to notice this difference in videos like this. When you’re using one over the other day to day, you won’t notice the difference going from one to the other. If you have the 1st gen, like me, I’d say keep it.
Agreed and I think something will happen and the Siri will get a little faster. But the 1st gen ultra is already so fast that it’s hard for them to improve on.
I’ve got the ultra 2 and had the ultra 1, you can tell a pretty big difference in a lot of things, so don’t go fooling yourself, there’s definitely improvements.
I was all set coming from a series 6 to the ultra. My main reason is for the extra durability and a little more battery power. After watching several comparative videos I elected the AWU 1 as I got a reduced price of basically $175..and I have no interest in the pinch on the 2. The 1st edition is more than bright enough for my needs so I am happy with what the 1st edition has to offer
Nice. Yeah I think that the smartest way to go. The ultra battery is so amazing it doesn’t degrade like the series ones so the old ones will still last multiple days. And you save money.
I think so from the 4. You'll get always on display, better battery, blood oxygen (if you get one soon, may be removed on new watches soon). Series 9 and Ultra have brighter screens. I love the always on display that alone was worth it to me to upgrade from the 4 when the 5 came out. But I am a nerd and love this stuff.
Anyone else suffering major battery drain on watch ultra gen 1 after watch os10 update? I was getting 3.5 days use from a single charge and now only getting 2 days at best. Really disappointing and hoping Apple address this.
I do like the fact that he says the boot up process is waaayyy longer on the ultra 1 , in reality it is measured in seconds … this is where we are nowadays where boot up and app launches on tech are measured in seconds different but somehow this is made out to be a big deal…
When you click the action button, on frame by frame view you always click the ultra 2 first. This is pretty minor upgrade wich in day to day use is never going to see with naked eyes. Pretty much all youtube-rs says that Ultra 1 is the watch to go. I buyed it new 3 weeks ago saved around 100$ vs ultra 2 and im pretty happy.
I don't get why so much fuss about that pinch feature.... I mean, I already use the pinch feature on the accessibility on my Series 7 and it works very fine!!!
The new feature is very different. The accessibility is setup to navigate the watch for those who can’t use both hands. The new one is set to trigger certain actions quickly based on what’s going on on the watch at the moment.
I decided to go ultra 2. Wanted new. Crazy enough Best Buy had the ultra 2s cheaper Thant Ultra 1s which was insane so I couldn’t pass that up! Can’t wait for it to come in on Thursday!
Id always say get what you want if you have the money. If the ultra 2 is what you want then just get it. But if you want to save some money the first ultra is still just as good. Main things you will be missing is the pinch feature when it is released. Day to day I honestly don’t think you’ll notice the brighter screen or the speed increase.
I thought the Ultra 2 no longer allowed Blood/Oxygen levels to be taken (due to infringement on Apple's part). If they've since resolved this, I'd like to know. Also, the increased storage capacity I hear people talk about all the time, stating that you can load more photos or songs onto the watch. I'm curious as to exactly HOW they're loading these songs onto the watch. We're a family of 4 with 4 different Apple Watches... and three of those are under my control (one is my Ultra, and two other watches for my kids under the family management app). Nowhere in Apple's marketing do they make it clear that the only way to load music (or any audio files) onto your managed Apple Watch is if you FIRST have an Apple Music Subscription. Well... call me old school, but I don't need another subscription -- music I like I buy. Unfortunately, even though I've purchased my music through iTunes I can't load it on my kid's watches... simply because I don't also have an Apple Music subscription. Seems like a scam to me.
Kinda disappointed with Ultra 2. I hoped for some new design (colour, new functions, and faster CPU - but it seems they are almost the same). I am not sure about double tap - I will wait and see tests for it - I think it can be a problem sometimes, when I "press" it by accident.

My guess is most people don’t care about going that long off the charger. Biggest selling point is just the not having to care or worry about the battery at all with either ultra. Normally no but this is the first processor upgrade in the watch in the last few years. So I was hoping it would have a bit more impact. Main shock to me was the Siri interactions.
No they are claiming it can only work with the second gen and series 9 because it needed the new chip to be reliable. I feel like it’s more of a we are leaving this feature out to give the new watches more of a difference.
Agree,,my thoughts exactly. “Don’t waste your money”…. but everything is much faster…..bad title
When did I say everything is much faster. Booting was a bit faster and the action was a little faster but the - beat the 2 on a few things. Did you watch the wrong video?
Don't waste your time and your money buying an Ultra, if what you want is a smart watch for athletes who take sports seriously, what you have to buy is a Polar or a Garmin Fenix 7X solar sapphire, Garmin has a very large variety on smart watches (really smart watches, not fancy watches like Apple ones
But if you want the best most rounded watch go with the Apple Watch. It can do so much more than any watch on the market which is why it’s number 1
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭
Child, start studying and finish your homework so you can go out and play with the other children.
I think most people buy it’s for its more an Apple eco system
Good advice especially if you guarantee the wearer never suffers a serious fall or a head-on collision, in which case the Ultra wins, correct?
Do you really notice how quick an app opens😂😂😂😂😂😂
Normally no but this is the first processor upgrade in the watch in the last few years. So I was hoping it would have a bit more impact. Main shock to me was the Siri interactions.
They doesn't open at all after a single day tho...
Well not really.🤡I was afraid you’d be asking.
@@efreutel just pulling ur leg mate ❤️
In UK difference between U1 and U2 is 100£,or 200£ if you get an certified refurbished U1 from Apple witch is same as new
I buy Apple refurbished all the time.
This "update" is appalling.
I was pretty shocked to see the results from my tests.
will the ultra 1 get double tap feature?
No they are claiming it can only work with the second gen and series 9 because it needed the new chip to be reliable. I feel like it’s more of a we are leaving this feature out to give the new watches more of a difference.
Agree,,my thoughts exactly. If the never had that exclusive to the AWU 2 there would be absolutely no reason for people to upgrade,,,well that still not enough reason for me.Really in essence just think how many times a day we nip out fingers together. I would kill a battery in 12 hrs...lol@@TheAppleBias
It's has it lol Apple just won't tell you so they can push the gimmick out there and sell ultra 2s. If you are on watch OS 10 it's in accessibility settings.
Yeah that been around for a while but it’s not the same. Yes it has the same gesture to trigger things. But the new system is much more useful for the majority or people with the action navigating multiple areas. Where the old system was fully designed for those that needed the ability to navigate the entire app section by section.
It's not different from the ultra 1. If these are both on OS 10 it's not going to function any different. Literally this is the same watch lol
