Just got an Ultra 1 for $400, it’s a definite upgrade from the SE 2020!
Same here Amazon has them cheap, found a “renewed” one and it came looking very brand new zero scratches or dents with 100% battery health and original bands. For $489. I like it it’s nice

I just bought the Ultra 1 for £600. Hopefully, it should be a noticeable upgrade from the 2nd Gen Apple Watch.

I’m really torn which model I want. A part of me doesn’t justify the price for the ultra 2 when it’s very very close to the first generation. But at the same time I like the idea of purchasing the ‘new’ model.
I've seen some places drop the Ultra 2 to $700 and places that still sell the Ultra 1 for $600
If you have the ultra 1 already I wouldn't upgrade, but if you have one of the much older series I'd get the ultra 2 - my ultra 1 is a year old now and still does exactly what I need it to do perfectly
Up to 3 days without charging....wao I have the Ultra 2 And I'm fighting for 2 days of battery.
Using low battery mode helps get that extra bump of life 🔋🙌🏽
The visual difference to tell them apart is at 2:50 where you can see the older model has a smaller opening for the wheel. Could just be the way it's sitting but that's the only thing I can tell that's actually different looking.

I’m still rocking the Apple Watch series 4 since 2018 when it came out
That's what I have now, I bought a used stainless steel for $180 in 2020 to replace my OG Apple Watch from 2015 after the screen started falling off.
Same I have the series 4 but I ran a couple races and realized that my watch has my minute per mile pace about 20-30 seconds higher than what I’m actually running 😅

I think you should just bypass the first 2 minutes and get right into the details on the differences. That's why we are here. I could care less about the packaging and what comes with - so I usually have to skip over the typical standard unboxing process because it's non value added pertaining to the title. I mean there are a plethora of videos on TH-cam walking us through the differences, the quicker I can get to the value add the more chances I will stay and watch or come back for other content. So in other words - just cut to the chase and get to the good stuff. You can move that other unpacking visuals (for those Christmas unwrapping gift lovers) towards the end. Much appreciations.

I watched the Event yesterday specifically for the watches. I’m confused about their narrative on the Ultra 2 so I appreciate any relies to clarify. Amazon has been selling an Ultra2 for a while. The Event launched the fancy black one so other than color how is it different than the currently for sale Ultra2s? Follow up question if there are differences like a diff chip are those worth it? I’ll be switching from a cellular 6 because of battery life. TIA!
I ended up getting the ultra 475$ looks brand new. I had the series 7 givin it to my partner. Currently own the Gear 6 really dislike it. Very pleased with my Ultra 1

I upgraded my U1 to the U2 and have no regrets. Why? I think we’re beginning to see what Apple is doing in terms of innovation and I think it’s clear that the Watch has pretty much developed as far as it’s going to go. Don’t get me wrong, there will be minor additions like blood pressure and maybe even eventually blood glucose readings. These will likely be general readings as in your glucose is increasing/decreasing, etc. without giving actual numbers. These are helpful but very limited. This being the case, I'm not sure there's going to be any new "I've got to get a new Apple Watch!" Going forward.
As a result of this I decided to get the U2 because of the new chip and 64GB of storage and let this be my final Apple Watch for the duration. At least until there’s a real reason to upgrade. I was given $410 for my U1 which reduced my cost for the U2 by half. The new chip will future proof the U2 for quite awhile and concerning performance, it’s a watch…it does all the current functions very well and does it’s main function, it tells time! Because the battery is so good, I find I can leave my iPhone 13Mini at home and just take my U2! I do wish it would connect to CarPlay but maybe someday it will. The U2 also gets a brighter screen though the U1 was bright enough. In short, the U2 is an upgrade though not a dramatic one but if like me you plan on sticking with an Ultra, then the U2 is the one to be stuck with! U2 for the duration!
I had the same train of thought as yours. I was thinking of buying a new AW and was torn between the U1 and U2 because of the price difference. I ultimately chose the U2 because of the On-device Siri (same as latest iPhone Pros), right now it sounds silly but with the upcoming Apple’s AI updates that requires that chip to work, the U2 feels future proofing.

Great breakdown on the key differences between the two watches. I'm still using my Apple Watch Series 4 from 2019 and the Ultra 2 looks like an amazing watch upgrade.

I found the Apple Watch Ultra 1 for $600, it's open-box excellent condition though. I think I'll do it. I got my iPad open box excellent condition and it's been flawless.

Thanks for your thoughts! I have the Series 8 and am thinking of upgrading. I'll probably go with the 1 since I see nothing (not even so-called future proofing) to justify the price bump. Samsung's similarly priced Ultra (compared to the 1) is enticing but I tend to use the Apple ecosystem with my Windows devices providing the flexibility for gaming; so no brainer there!

My series 5 have Siri on the watch I’m confused
You won't need your iPhone nearby to interact with Siri if its a command that does not require an internet connection (ex: start a workout, set a timer, etc)
Previous Apple Watches need to have an internet connection to process these type of commands.

It is crazy how Apple didn't think about solar power on their watches .. i enjoy that tech in my Protrek Casio watch since 2013 to this day.
The fact you don't think about charging your watch battery is a the real "Big Plus" for me.
JBTech, you never mentioned anything about the Blood Oxygen Saturation feature. I think that’s something people who may have a medical condition should know, If they were to purchase either type of watch. Don’t you think?
I think that feature is on series 8 and a few 9s only because of the lawsuit with the patent holder. It doesn’t appear to be settled yet since Apple didn’t mention it at the Event as part of the Health lineup. Hope this helps
Fun fact the “quick action” feature has been out for years, apple just started to advertise it now for some reason but you should be able to use it on almost all Apple Watches.

its not worth it compared too the original ultra, especially since sp02 was removed. i did get one since im coming from garmin and my old android watches are incompatiable

I have a question: In the Apple Comparasion Website (in german) is the Ultra 1 at 3.000 Nit as the Ultra 2. Is this a mistake or has the Ultra 1 got a brightness update recently?

When do you workout with it?
At the moment very minimal lol but when I do use it for working out, I could do at least two 30-60 min workouts and about 36 hours later I’d be at ~20% or less

how easy is to scracth a titan body?
It holds up well. I have the Ultra 1 and I work construction and bang it all the time. Very minor surfaces scratches that aren’t even noticeable unless you stare super hard and even then it’s almost unnoticeable

it also doesn't scratch nearly as eaily as any other apple watch I had, granted I always picked up the cheap aluminum ones.

I have an ultra 1. No issues for vision under daylight whatsoever, 2000 nits is bright enough and it’s actually the max brightness an iphone can display… OS is smooth and never lags… don’t need a fast processor on a watch just for notifications and heart monitor/training apps. Siri? Let’s talk about it when it will work properly. Upgrade is just not worth unless you have money to waste. The only way i see an ultra 2 is an upgrade from an AW 4/5 with a very good deal
