You are a wonderful teacher! The fix to the fix is to not use the ETF. The bigger the ETFs the more powerful they become and the more influence they will have in steering policy to close the ramps to self custody. Maybe because the alternatives will be small markets like early days in crypto, there will be opportunity in volatility but it’s likely our last chance to make gains before they “fix” that. Place your bets before it’s too late. Not financial advice. 😅

Love your videos Lewis. So the powers that be are working against us. Ok, I get that. In many ways even beyond financial. But I'm still not clear on how these "tolls", gates, automations, etc... is going to prevent me from making good or great return on my crypto....? If I bought say Hbar last year at lets say .08 U.S. and put it on a hard wallet/cold storage, how is it that my profit will get scuttled ? (assuming the price per unit does go up significantly) Are you speaking about the future and the craze that will develop when everyone wants to get on the band wagon at a later time ? Is that who you are referring to ? Because if not, then I'm not understanding. I see the tax man as a bigger obstacle. Maybe I missed something but hoping someone can clear that up. Thanks !

If you hold you never lose. The next 4 year cycle lows are always last 4 years cycles all time highs. Follow the liquidity. Bitcoin follows the stock market and that follows that liquidity cycle. Very simple. Never sell when your red. Except you have to wait for 4 year to recoup your L. Stop trying to get rich quick. Hold for 10 years. You will make 500% plus gains

The solution is simple get in first before institution money and be patient
I'd say for the average person the actual "problem" is how their time and energy is being rewarded and reciprocated. Bitcoin was conceived to "fix" this issue... A person wouldn't have to "win at money" if the reward for their work was sufficient. Working for someone in our current system is by definition doing so at a profit to them. If an employer in turn has to "win at money" in order to survive as opposed to offering quality goods and services- then the employees become enemies to longevity as opposed to being assets. If the money itself cannot be rigged, then the game should be more equitable and rewarding for everyone.
Nice to have you back mate, as long as you have the elite holding the majority of the share we’ll always be disadvantaged unless your have the fortitude to endure a savage bear market and do your homework.
I propose that once enough Crypto is out there and in private hands, we the people can agree to use it as money, therby bypassing CBDC's. We dont need their centraised version of what we already have.

I don't think it really works like this. I dont think governments have as much control as you give them credit for. They're mostly just a bunch of old geezers LARPing. Someone could have easily applied this same logic as they were getting impatient leading up to the last couple bull runs
I'm not sure your location, but in the US this absolutely can and probably will happen this way. Corruption by the big banks and investment institutions will put pressure on legislators to protect the average investor hence giving said institutions the right to take a huge percentage of our gains in the form of fees. They don't want to miss out on tremendous amounts of easy money paid by you and i.

Not just crypto... it's the same with everything else
Tax. Taxation of everything, your income, your investments, your home, your food, your services, any product you need, your entire life is taxed at pretty much every level.
Tax is how govts control you from getting rich. Taxing crypto by being able to control on and off ramps and track your money is also now a thing. If you manage to invent a way to make gold out of thin air....you will be taxed on every aspect of that production including capital gains when you sell it.
Even solar panels are being taxed now in Australia, yeap, you know the panels the govt pushed with these subsidies to get them installed and the false advertising that it would save the taxpayer money on their electric bill? Well now the companies are taxing the individuals for creating energy by way of putting a tax on it being pushed back into the grid. Govt is fine with this because there will be tax on the charge they charge the individual which will be taxed, then the sold energy money to the company will also be taxed.
Everything is being taxed and its not entirely hard to imagine another 20 years from now where they tax you to take a step out of your own home (assuming you are not homeless from all the taxes).

I think you are thinking of it in the wrong way. You are thinking in terms of the stock market but crypto is not like stocks. Stocks are essentially like gambling that needs volatility to get people rich especially in the short term. Stocks can be artificially propped up and overvalued or a stock can be tanked. Definitely do not buy into the crypto ETFs because its the stock market way of making money off crypto. The right crypto (XRP, XLM, XDC, HBAR) has utility which has intrinsic value. That value is going to be set by what the users value it at and it will be documented on the blockchain. This value cannot be artificially created meaning its like gold or silver. That is why all the banks and companies and governments are signing on to use XRP and these other cryptos because they aren't volatile because they need it to be stable for the global economy to work. This is why I feel Bitcoin will eventually fail because Bitcoin doesn't have utility. It's essentially being traded currently like a stock with tons of volatility.
A bit far fetched. BTC for instance is very scarce and will go up in value over time nevertheless. And a staple uprise without volatility is/can be good.
The only problem, is that the government is going to take it away from us. From institutions and from everyone and only keep it for themselves. That's what Lew was saying.
The problem is now there is no fix to the new problem they fixed.
