When welds are performed on stainless with no filler they will typically exhibit a mild amount of magnetism, even when filler is used the austenite can transform into ferrite with enough heat.
@@BackmansGarage There are multiple grades of stainless steel, the martensitic varieties for example are magnetic. You'll find those in fasteners which can take advantage of higher strength from heat treatment. Your Leatherman multi tool is martensitic for strength!
Thanks man 🤜🤛 I try to keep as much of the real experience in the video, even tho sometimes I know it might not be the most "picture perfect" moments 😄
The fitment of the exhaust looks great. I have been keeping my eyes on a bunch of stuff from KL Racing. For me the shipping to the US might be too much.
Yeah Im surprised it was priced so good, its definitely on the low-budget scale but for a daily/second car I would recommend it. Martelius has some nice exhausts on the bit more premium side, i think they might send to the Us but not sure. Maybe you can contact KL-racing and se it they can provide shipping via boat, usually gets the price down if you are willing to wait a month or two.
Good idea, I have looked at bunch of stuff so might make a bigger purchase and ship by boat. Really enjoy the channel. Looking at a T5 swap in the future also.@@BackmansGarage
I already wanted to buy this exhaust, well the one with two dampers because police and mot suck here in switzerland, but now i am really convinced. It seems reasonably quiet and looks as if it could flow a tremendous amount more than the stock system. Really like your videos, keep it up👍🏻

Thank you for that input! Always nice to learn something new 👍 I will be sure to update on how the exhaust holds up over time.

Some grades of stainless are in fact magnetic because of their high contents of ferrite 👍
