We love this farm! Let us know what you think in the comments
I love this one because the land boarders are not all oddly shaped!! To have the house actually in the middle of your land is a rare treat. Another great farm :)
The little shop in Orca has really come a long way!
Love the farm. Love to see you both too and hear all about the land and plants. ❤
Thank you so much!
Just lovely! Thank you both for showing me!
Bless you, thank you for watching!
Hello Joseph, Do you take down videos once the property has sold? I ask in reference to some of your older videos. Wondering if they are still available?
I love this farm and love the little restaurant nearby
Oh me too!!!! I had bacalhau lagoreiro when I was there last and it was super creamy!
Gorgeous place 😊
It really is! 💕
Buckfast bees, bred by Brother Adam @ Buckfast abbey in south Devon, in the South west of the UK, his lifes work...
Calm & productive bees...

@philleggitt3005 - They sound ideal, would they be able to thrive in this very different climate?
Happy New Year to all of you. Orca just began a language class. Hope they were able to fill all of the spaces. Great piece of Property. NICE. Thanx Joseph and ANdre'
Hi Gina! How are you? Happy new year to you too!!! 💕 🎉 Yes!!! I heard this, fingers crossed they did 😁 😊 💕

Happy New Year to You and wife, kids and to the always smiling and friendly Andre'.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Lovely place
Thank you so much for watching! 💕
very nice property ,hard to believe they sell vegemite👍
Lovely farm 😊
Marmite! I'd be a happy bunny living there 😄
Had marmite on toast for breakfast 😋
Ahh, I love a bit of marmite too!
Thank you for showing us this very lovely property!
Whenever I fall in love with one of the small farms you both show, I hesitate because I am in my "twilight years" but I can't think of a more beautiful place to spend said years than this property! It is gorgeous, and in such very good condition it is a realistic option for someone who might not have the stamina for a major restoration project.
I'd plant it to the French Lavender and keep honey bees, which, with the pine nuts might generate a little "pin money", at least it would keep one active and engaged with the land. A couple of rescue donkeys and a few chickens would complete my dream farm. 🤩😍
I wonder if the "pine nut trees" are known to harbour the Pine Processionary Moth caterpillars like other species of pine do? (but I think a large securely fenced dooryard with kitchen garden might eliminate that worry for dog owners).
Looks awesome 👌
Thanks guys 😊
Thank you for watching Daryl!
Beautiful farm. I’m certainly tempted
Awww thank you, I’m so glad you liked it 😁
Gem of a property! Would love to live there. Wishing you and your families a wonderful, prosperous new year. ❤
Thank you so much, same for you my friend!!!
Another stunning property but alas too big for my hubby and I to take on at our stage of life but, oh were we 30-40 years younger I'd bite your hand off to buy that farm. Let me wish you a much healthier and a wealthier 2025. Happy New Year to your family and Andre's from my family. 👍👍👍😍😍
Very nice
Stunning..
That would be worth millions in the UK..
Get real… millions? 😂
@@jjdeville7884 Yeah, probably a bit extreme on that one 😅
Definitely worth more than £60k though!
We really like this. Coming to visit and look in june so i hope no one buys it!
i saw that HP Sauce the moment you did!! amazing...😀
Nice land!!
Very nice property. It will be sold quickly.
I think so too!
I'm looking for sunshine 300 days a year. Is central Portugal a good area for that? Do you have any properties more south or nearer to the coast/beach?
Lovely videos!
👍🙏✌️
I hope to visit in summer!!
💕
For my needs almost perfect. However I rather have something without neighbours due to my dog.... seiously looking. thank you for sharing. cheers.
@TIMBEAU1962 - Perhaps I am mistaken, but it looked like it was surrounded by pastures and set well away from homes?
Yeah, really not many neighbours here, if the neighbours were any further I think they’d be Spanish
Hi Joseph and Andre. Another fantastic property tour, very informative. This is exactly the type of property I will be looking to buy towards the end of 2025 and I'm trying to gauge costs for renovation. Is there a standard Euro price per sqare foot so I can have an idea of what the renovation would cost?. Thank you
Beautiful place there Joseph. What are temperatures there in winter and summer like.. does it ever freeze or get scorching hot.. thanks in advance!
Greeting from southern California
Hello there, thank you for the message. Yes, it certainly can get to freezing, frost will only be present in the odd shaded area though, once the sun comes up it melts away super quickly. Summer gets hot but depends what you’re doing, if you are outside and can pick your hours for work you can easily avoid the hottest parts of the day 😁 🥵
I've grown a lot of different lavenders and would love to integrate a nice lavender field as part of "my farm" in the future, wherever I end up. Are there any lavender farms in central Portugal, either for essential oils or for agritourism?
❤
💕
Looks nice. Last one for the year? you still have another 3 days! :P
Haha!! Good point!!! 🤣 🎉
When you give the area of the rooms are you talking about the inside or outside?
Saw the youtube star andrew last week in fundao in agriloja, that property seems to be on a hill ..very dry in the summer ?
👍....Your Portuguese is excellent Joseph, especially the way you switch between Portuguese and English...How long did it take to get to that level?
Awwwh, thank you so much! I don’t speak perfectly but I certainly get by. I never took a lesson, just picked it up in the cafes, then eventually met my Portuguese wife and of course that helped massively!
@Farmerforfun Wow! Gotta say that's impressive, you must have a brain for languages! I'm just starting out learning Portuguese with the aim of moving there in 2026 but find it difficult, compared to French which I speak a little...Thanks Joseph, have a good day bud.
Always south side of gardina mountain 😊
We film half on one side and half on the other, I prefer north Andre prefers south hehe!
Bela propriedade! Sobre energia elétrica, é fácil a conexão?
Early in the video André tells us the electricity poles are about 200m away, and he also gave us the name of an app that will determine the costs of connecting - sorry for my lack of Portuguese, but you should be able to find it easily.
EDP.pt they have a simulator on the website
Great Property! Are you able to remove some of the little trees if they are obstructing some of the views?
Hello! Yes, they can all be removed (except for the cork) and they can all be pruned or having unsightly branches removed.
Perfect! Are you able to make a lake on this farm always been trying to find/ mirror Mr. pintos' wonderful farm you filmed 3 years ago if he has any more farms left he'd like to sell that are exactly the same, 😅
Awww yeah it is a great property, I go there often to visit my friends. I have one that is 11 hectares, 2 ruins, lots of water sources which could easily be made into a lake, waterfalls etc, views that are out of this world… €75,000 we haven’t filmed it yet 😊 💕
Hello i have been following you flr a while now . I did mention i want to come an visit in the new year.
Can i ask what was your main priority when purchasing your own land?.
Appreciate a response as i would be new to trying to go self sufficient.
Liam
Hi Liam, thanks for asking my friend. I have always been an animal lover and although for many reasons we wished to move to central Portugal, I would say that pretty high up on my list was being able to farm as many of the animal products that I consume as possible. To get all the way there was a pretty unobtainable goal, but every bit that is possible is a win for me. My Portugal goals have now evolved somewhat since the creation of my little family here, now I want to be able to raise my two kids as close to nature as possible, with livestock, veggie patches, fruit orchards (we have a cherry farm) etc.
I hope that helped and thank you for the really great question! Love it!!! All the best and happy new year Liam! Joseph.
@ thanks appreciate the reply. Living the dream as they say . Keep them coming .
is it allowed to place a shipping container on the property (without having to request it) ? ... the same question for a caravan ?
Hallo Josef,
Could you send me the Koordinates of the Land ?
I Like to understand the sourounding.
All the best Lhundup
Hi Joseph, I’m interested in the property! Already sent you an email. Thank you
What’s the internet access like?
Nice place. Are wild boar an invasive species can they be culled ?
Is it legal to live there? Or is it a barn?
12°C fabulous temperature in December. Love it however I would love to know what the typical average temperature is in the summertime? can you provide information on how the summertime heat and humidity is both day and at night for your area that you’re filming? thank you for all that you do❤
Hi there, average winter daytime temps are around 10°c / 15°c, nighttime down to 0°c but normally around 5°c (odd nights lower). Summer daytime temps up to 40°c max, normally around 32° - 35°. Hope that helps 😁
@@Farmerforfun Thank you
@@Farmerforfun i’m trying to find the summer temperatures that I’m showing read like this: the temperature you gave is 104°F being American that is just too high for me but when I research it, it shows this information:
In the Serra da Estrela region of Portugal, the average temperature throughout the year is considered mild, with summers seeing highs around
75°F (24°C) and winters experiencing lows around 34°F (1°C); the average high temperature is around 51°F (11°C) and the average low is around 34°F (1°C).
Key points about Serra da
Estrela temperatures:
• Summer (June - August):
Highs typically around 67°F - 75°F (19°C - 24°C) with cooler nights.
• Winter (December - February):
Lows often near freezing with highs around 45°F (7°C).
• Spring and Autumn: Moderate temperatures with highs in the 50s - 60s°F (10°C - 16°C).
So I guess what I’m trying to determine is where do I need to be in Portugal where I can get those temperatures in the summertime listed that I’ve just posted in that area do I have to actually be in the mountains? Do you have any insight on that I appreciate a little bit more Information if you can provide it I don’t mind 80s but I could never do hundred degree days for the majority of time of the summer months. So if I need to be looking into a certain area or region, can you advise what that area region would be thank you again I really appreciate it. I love watching everything and all that you provide to us. Happy new year.
Is it still possible for uk residents to move to rural portugal?
Yes absolutely, need to look into visa options though, now outside of Europe it is the same as moving to say Australia or the USA, visa options that are most popular are the D2 & D7, try those, look on google and see if they suit your needs 😁
Can you legally live in the building? How much in your opinion would it cost to get running water, electricity and a second floor with a decent roof. If you could answer the above it would be great as this gives me a more realistic idea of how much I would need to spend. Also how much about would other charges be? Legal, taxes your fee? So total €40k plus what? I’ve been looking at properties now for over 6 months but when I find the right one I don’t want to make a mistake with my budget.
Thank you
Hello there, thanks for the comment, lots of great questions! Taxes are 5% of the purchase price, stamp duty is 0.8% of the purchase price, you would need to provide your own legal representative so you can ask them how much their fees are (I can recommend some English speaking ones in the area if you don’t know of any) there are no other fees regarding the purchase.
Building costs is always a very difficult one to answer, there are so many variables but I’ll do my best to answer here. It is usually cheaper than people expect when coming to Portugal as they read online about ‘€1,200~ a square metre’ or whatever it is in places like Lisbon and the Algarve. Here it is much cheaper if using trusted Portuguese builders, just recently some friends of mine were quoted €40,000 for a rebuild on a building roughly the same size as this one. To give an idea septic tank costs around €1,500, a bathroom costs around €800 (basic standard). More can be spent for a more luxurious quality, it all comes down to taste I suppose.
Borehole would costs around €25 per metre drilled into the ground, estimated depth of between 60 - 100 metres in this area.
Hope that helps! 😊 💕
@@Farmerforfun Joseph I remember some months ago - referring to a stunning mountain property - you said that regarding a borehole when they drill and find no water you also do not pay anything?
@@Farmerforfun Thanks for the quick reply, this has helped me when comparing properties, what is your fee? Thanks
Hi! Yes, that is correct, no water equals no payment
We don’t charge a fee 😊
Small British section in the mini market .. 😂
Just to confirm, can you legally live in this property?
Yes, one hundred percent!
Built before 1952 then classed as habitation. Not 100psnt sure though:)
Do you milk your sheep?
Hi! I only ever milk mine if they won’t take their lamb or if there’s a problem lambing, for example taking milk from another mother to give to a different lamb. Mine are meat breeds so not great for milk production 😁
@
Ok, I’ve been looking into sheep’s milk. It’s ment to be very creamy and more suitable for humans than cows milk. I’ve not tried any yet but I will be doing.
Yes absolutely, I stand to be corrected but I think goats milk is actually even more beneficial (just check that first though), closest thing to human milk and easier for our stomachs to digest
@leeboss373 - Sheep's milk makes wonderful cheese! "OKPortugal's" videos showing their neighbour Joaquim's dairy sheep herd always set me to dreaming...
@@Farmerforfun
Yes but goats milk doesn’t taste very nice, I’m lead to believe sheep’s milk is similar tasting to cows milk.
😂 ..I just watched an ad where the AI woman is telling us that she lives in Dallas with her husband and two children. 😐
Oh my word, AI is taking over the world, one advert at a time 😫
Quick question - it says usable 130m - so that’s double the building. What does that mean?
It’s if you add a first floor to the already built area, easier legally to go up than go out?
Yes exactly, extending outwards is very possible also, but requires more paperwork and an architect. Easier to stick to the current footprint.
Do you have internet acces there??
Yes, of course, I live close by and run a TH-cam channel there. Internet is accessible nearly all over the world. Best way here is either 4G router, starlink or no doubt other options
So good Connection also by mobile?
Yes mobile connection is fine here
Thank You for the Information ❤
😅how long can Brits stay in Portugal
As long as you like, of course you will need to look into visa options though if planning to stay longer than three months, because they are now outside of Europe, it is the same as moving to say Australia or the USA, visa options that are most popular are the D2 & D7, try those, look on google and see if they suit your needs 😁
Hi Joseph, nice farm but you need to be more open regarding whether there is a habitation lisence for the so called cottage or not, no point in people contacting you if you are not giving out the full facts regarding the possibility of living there.
Hi, I believe I did say it before walking inside the cottage? If I didn’t I apologise but yes you can legally live there. Also, there is even more of a reason for people to contact if I miss something, I welcome any emails and questions and specifically say please ask us anything. As I am sure there will always be something that I might not have covered on the tour
Were there any fruit trees on this farm?
I think i have seen it b 4
No, must be a similar place, this one is first on the market today
Very nice land but thats not a house it may have been a long time ago however fact that you have to go outside to go to other part it would more likely been a farm building like it is now, as there is no toilet area in original barn so not a house at all
It is a pre 1951 ruin, never would have had a toilet, back then houses looked veeeeery different from nowadays
Is this still available
Hello, Joseph! I hope everyone is doing well. I sent an email several days ago inquiring about this property but I have not received any response yet.
Love the farm. I did send you a email. Answer when you have time. Regards from Sweden and Happy New Year🇸🇪
Can you get the price for the land from the mini market in isle 2.
Why don't you start the video with the Following: Area, size , and price I've watched the whole video and still don't know what the price is😢
Hi, erm, I don’t really know what you want me to do but it is written in the thumbnail, it is written in the first line of the description, it is verbally mentioned, it is on our website… I couldn’t really make it any easier to get this information, even if you did not watch the video you would see the price and size literally written in the thumbnail picture… Next time I’ll shout the price every five seconds for those a little hard of hearing 🙄
@@Farmerforfun wonderful presentation and you did mention all the necessary details. People just need to pay attention. You and Andre did a wonderful job again!
Time for a new hearing aid and a trip to specsavers 🙄
