Mandrake was part of an animated series called Defenders of the Earth with flash Gordon and The Phantom and some kids of theirs, the main antagonist wass Ming The Merciless. It lasted for 65 episodes.
I had no idea this channel was Canadian until I saw the every child matters shirt. You learn something new every day.

Millions of people, she certainly isn’t “obscure”. Brigitte Nielsen played the title role (a biggish name at the time as Rocky 4 came out the same year) and Arnold Schwarzenegger was in the movie. Am I saying it was a huge mainstream success? No. But the character is FAR from “obscure”. Obscure:- “Not discovered or known about widely”. The 1985 movie “Red Sonja” has been watched by millions of people in re-runs alone. Sorry but that’s not “obscure”

Surprisingly enough, I’ve come across quite a few of these while reading comics for a good 27 yrs now. It’s always odd for me to see or hear about certain characters being labeled as unknown to most while I know about them expecting others to know as well.

One of the narrators said Bob Kane was a talentless hack, but I question how many characters you have created who completely original and what stores you have created that were not inspired by things you've read. Don't be so quick to judge another's flaws when you have your own to deal with.

Hey Top 10, Dush ''The Dush'' Collins here, using my buddy Joey's TH-cam account. Just wanted to mention that while skipping through some of this video (as I had already seen a few of the episodes before) using the right arrow in full screen; most of the video sounds like gibberish, but you can distinctly hear some guy yelling ''Nerd'' quite loudly and at a distance, and was wondering if maybe there's some subliminal messages from the gods hidden behind the timestream of your videos. Dush out.

Mandrake's character looks eerily similar to the owner of Walt Disney, Walt himself. Just wondering if he had any influence over the character..
I did not see him mentioned, although he is more of a lesser recognized then lesser known, but Azrael. I am talking from the original comics, not the games or shows where they butchered who he was and did not do him justice.
He had a significant role in Batman's storyline originally, (being the one who took over the role of Batman for a while), and the relationship between him and Batman is an interesting one, as is his entire story.
While he is not as lesser known, he does often go unrecognized. I hope to eventually see media portray him in his original form from the comics, because I am tired of seeing a character I love completely misrepresented.
Red Sonja had a film. Witchblade had a TV show that lasted 2 seasons.
