Rich Formidoni idol.
He now is with CASIO, i'm sure he will doo great things !
I bought one of these second hand a couple of years ago. It is a good synth, but it isn't a true Analogue synth, it is Analogue Modelling which was popular in hardware synths some 10 years ago. But don't let that put you off, as everything acts and sounds just like a real Analogue synth. You can make a good 303 type sound by using a single saw/pulse VCO, and edit a few parameters. Add some reverb or delay, to make some wicked 303 style basslines.
A14 is love, A14 is life
money isn't the equivalent of talent, nor the amount of gear you have. Just use what you have at the moment to the fullest and then buy one of these. I've been thinking about buying a microkorg for over 2 years and I finally got mine this week. I tell you, during that time I just wished for a microkorg allowed me to learn even more about the gear I already own and really find my own sound which is the most important thing as a musician. Don't stress it
My god the end was just amazing and gave me chills :'D
Great demo, Kraft!
Im getting mine this weekend! been waiting forever :)
0:30 your first riff is absolutely awesome !! liiiiiiiike it !!!!
Love this keyboard.
Would this be good for MGMT type sounds?
Loveee this synth! :D
This is a beautiful implement
I wish to own it
0:56 - 0:58 reminds me of Castlevania Symphony of the Night. I really wanna get one of these, seems like it would be great for travelling
Cool! I'm new to synthesizes and I hope this comes with a manual.
0:28 (Example of versatility)
1:48 (recordable patters/Data automation)
2:50 (Formant Hold example)
3:46 (Usability of pitch bend/mod wheels)
4:02 (Vocoder example)
There ya go. :D
This seems easy to play. but the more I think about it the more the sound engineering aspect of the ms20 outshines the playing functions of the Microkorg.
Ha, yeah I just started playing around with this one this week, and man the manual is helpful. After that, trying things on your own is best.
This is amazing. if i had this instrument i'm gonna make my own music like owl city.
The downside to the synth, is remembering how to switch off the write protect, so you can store new sounds. I have to consult the manual when I haven't used the synth for sometime. The write protect is active every time you switch it on, so every time you want to create a new sound you have to switch off the write protect before you can create new patches. Otherwise this is a great little synth, if you see a demo of it in a shop you will buy it straight away. I did.
Yes you can sequence the microKorg with any MIDI based software. You will need a USB to MIDI converter so you can connect the synth to your computer. In fact you can sequence the synth with a hardware drum machine or a Korg Electribe as well. I even sequenced the microKorg with a Zoom 802 multitrack recorder, the 802 has a built in drum machine and MIDI connections. I used the drum machine to sequence the synth and then record the performance back into the 802.
I Have A Micro KORG And Its Amazing
i want one so freaking bad
i have one. soo much fun. bring it to school and jam durring your free time. :)
one of the most populair synths for live at the moment is the Micro korg, because of the options and its kopakt
You have a cool play style
I really love this synth & plan to buy 1 (&/or the XL) soon. It has the same engine as the MS2000, while the XL has the engine from the R3/Radius. I love analog modeling/AM synths & IMO, Korg does it the best. (although Kurzweil's V.A.S.T. is amazing too) I have an EXB-MOSS on my Triton, a Z-1 & a Kronos X & also a PLG150-AN on my Yamaha Motif, an Alesis Fusion HD & Kurzweil PC3K. I like Korg's sound the best, (though it's a toss up between the PC3K) followed by Alesis & then Yamaha.
PS: I don't know what's wrong with Ebay sellers. You can buy a Microkorg/XL for $400/$500 respectively, BRAND NEW. Japanese sellers on Ebay are asking $1,421, $1,200, $1,100, $900,etc. LOL!!! WHY would anyone do that (put something on Ebay the will NEVER sell) & WHO would actually buy one for that price? (when you can get them for 2, 3 & even 4-5 times less)
Got my microkorg a week ago, and it's an absolute beauty. the only question i have is this: what's the first sound you show? i've been looking for it, but i still haven't found it :p
when you edit one of the presets will it stay the way you edited it after you turn off the microkorg, or will it be reset back to the original preset sound
meu sonhooo
I'm very interested in the vocoder aspects of this device but cant seem to find information anywhere. How wet/dry can you make it? Can you change the amount of voice and synth in the sound produced?
This is a very good keyboard, the original and best! a lot of manufacturers are trying to copy it and failing.
@PranksterBrothers yes, its the basic premise of recording music. You'll need a digital audio workstation like Abelton, Cubase, or Logic.
OK, so your interface has 2 XLR mic inputs and a single 1/4" line in? Can you tell me what interface you're using?
-Dave
Is there a piano setting on this synth? I still want the synth parts for my band but at some point i'd like to use piano.
I'm looking at synths, and trying to decide between this and the XL. Which would you recommend for someone buying their first synth?
This thing looks brilliant. does it have a Rhythm Sequencer?
Hey one question.
Did you got this melody from somewere already at 0:29 ? If yes could you tell me the name of it? Thanks
Hello Kraft Music! I am interested in this synth, but I think it is very old, believe that Korg will bring a new version of this synthesizer next year?
so the editor librarian. is that like a place where you save patches without them being on the mchine itself? like the patch librarian for the navation ultranova?
is there any set-up required for the pitch and mod wheels? cause i just got one of these and they don't do anything. i already set the bend range for the pitch btw
This is perfect
Is it possible for the MicroKorg to be connected to a computer for programming songs?
For starters would you recomend this one or the MicroKorg XL?
Is there a bigger version of the microkorg keyboard ?
The microKORG is really more of a dedicated synthesizer keyboard. If you're looking for pianos, electric pianos, or organ sounds (keyboards as opposed to synths) you might want to check out the Korg PS60 or X50. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. Thanks for watching!

Is there any way you can connect the microkorg to a mac using midi? Thanks.
can you record and stack beats you make? or would you need a computer for that
So does this thing produce sound from it's own built in speakers or do I have to spend more money on some separately?
Im thinking about purchasing this little monster from my local Guitar Center. My dream hobby for now would be making my own techno/trance songs and put them on TH-cam. Is there a way, if I purchase this, to record right on my computer as I play it and edit there? Thanks!!
I'm a beginner and I'm really into radiohead do you think the Korg microKorg has decent sounds for their type of music. I don't mean like guitar and drum sounds just piano. But also is this compatible through MIDI with FL studio and such. Just so I can have a wide variety of sounds. Thanks
You can use regular headphones to listen to the synth. Otherwise you will need to plug the synth into an external amplifier with speakers. The microKorg does not have any built in speakers. You will only need a mixer if you have more than one hardware synth or drum machine.
Bro, between MicroKorg, MicroKorg XL and Korg R3, which one is better sound for funk and jazz music?
Is it possible for me to record what I play right on my computer as I play it? I would like to record my songs and put em on TH-cam.
Can I plug this in Argentina or do I need some electric adapter?
whats your fav drum machine for like house, electro house, dubstep and hard dance?
Do you recommend the MicroKorg or MicroKorg XL?
Stupendo
@PunkRockCovers
Sure! It would sound cleaner and fuller when plugged into a keyboard amp or full-range PA, but you might dig the gritty tone you'd get from a guitar amp. Just use any 1/4 inch cable to connect it. Thanks for watching!

how can i setting the korg up with a prgramme reason! has it an usb ??
thx
@HiyaMichael You can also do what I do and connect it to a full size 88 key MIDI keyboard via a single MIDI cable.
i was wondering if the korg is tuning your voice?
Do i need to plug this into a laptop/computer?
Where can I find the chords of the first riff (0:30) to play it ??
Can you use this for a gig with a band?
@TheTruthHasRisen I know Adam Young from Owl City uses the microkorg with reason, and that's how he made fireflies along with other songs.
is there an audio out and an audio in jack
Can i connect a Microkorg to a guitar amplifier?
**PLEASE ANSWER: Can you hook up the microkorg to a laptop to record and make a song?
how far up and down can each octave button go?
does anyone know what accessories i need to sync my microkorg with a roland TR-606?
You can plug in active speakers
1:47 nice
Can you plug in a korg nanokontroler into a microkorg?
Glad our video helped you in learning your new microKORG. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

i need it
So, I wanna buy my first synth. I know for sure I wanna korg. But what I don't know is if I should get this or the ms-20. Any idea on what I should get?
If you're synth and electronic music geek definitely go for ms20.
can this be used with logic pro?
it looks cool. can i use it on stage and plug into an amp without having to use a PC and USB?
Yes.
Awsome :D whud be nice to make trance music with this :)
this guy seems like a v nice guy
He is, he's in my band lol
It looks like the XLR inputs on the Babyface will take mic or line level signals. Just get some XLR to 1/4" adapter cables…1/4" out of your microKORG into the XLR inputs. No problem. Thanks for watching!

can this be used with garageband? tanx :)
Sorry, the microKORG doesn't include any on-board audio recording. You'd want to record directly into your computer or audio device…then edit and transfer. Thanks for watching!

Could someone tell me what monitors these are?
Look like M Audio.
Will my Gameboy work with this?
Is this good for Prog Rock/Metal?
can you record as midi?
can I make dark German synth on this?
I would about bet on it
Sounds kind of like what I remember a 8000 sounded like
how many notes can you play at once?
im getting one XD
god that is fuckin sweet!!
for some odd reason I prefer the sound of the classic microkorg over the xl...
@MrPlaystationboy perfect hahaha
Would this be good for rappers of more urban beats?? Tryna to pick a good present for my boyfriend
+Anand Lorell can I be your boyfriend? OF COURSE IT'S AN AMAZING PRESENT FOR A BEAT MAKER!!!
+Anand Lorell He'll love it!
+Anand Lorell it would be good if he makes beats also. if he just raps, this wouldnt make much sense
Roland JD-Xi would be a better fit for hip-hop or rap. it has a built in drum system so you can make a complete beat. microKorg is still amazing but not as amazing.
+Anand Lorell Maybe a Roland MC-303 groovebox or a volca beats
Korg should sell a power supply that runs off your local 220V power. If you purchased a N. American version you can get a step-down converter to change from 220V to 120V. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. Thanks for watching!

Is this a real Analog Synth? Or is it digital?
is analog
it aint. oke hitting the keys is analog. as your hands wont understand 0111100000111101010101. But no, this is one hell of a digital baby. But still fun device.
its funny, when you search for dx7 on google. you see at the bottom 'people also search for'. The microkorg is second, enough about how crappy it is. Its fun and enjoy. I do, already 15 years.
@kraftmusic Maybe on a bass amp, it would sound way better ? With huge bass sounds ? :)
@octoberguitaru2 i think this guy just improvised pretty good
