I picked up my MAC 9 DS about 3 months ago. I have put about 500 rounds down range, and the MAC ran flawless. I was a Glock guy and carried a Glock for 15+ years but I wanted a change and the MAC 9 fit the bill. I have not changed any internals, but I have added a Streamlight TLR-1 HL light and a Holosun 507C red dot. For me, the MAC 9 is an excellent gun that shoots great. I have numerous years of tactical experience and also being a firearms instructor. Yes, the MAC 9 is not a Staccato, but it sure beats the hell out of a Springfield Prodigy and other similar handguns. I have no regrets purchasing the MAC 9 and I carry it everyday.
Went a step lower and got the Tisas 1911 DS Carry. Like it quite a bit! Good video. Id love to get my slide ported by Monsoon Tactical. Maybe soon. Just a bit pricey…
Have had my Mac 1911DS for 3 months changed the recoil and hammer springs added a red dirt trigger shoe it’s at 3k rounds and it just runs ,always have had a couple 1911s favorite platform
Mine is an 11# recoil, 19# trigger spring, staccato short trigger. Tweaked the sear. 3# 2oz no issues at all. To pull a 2011 out of the box this good, your going to spend 3 x the $. Ttl cost for mods? 70$.
Just got off the phone with Monsoon and Valor......Recently sold a C2 with the ice comp. Seeing this thing, (and I ordered one today) and its close resemblance to a P...... comping it, and having some fun to make it an EDC that's a blast to shoot is exciting!
Like the intro fellas got neck cramps... First of all Vinny hurt a lot of guys feelings by speaking the truth, lmao... Learn how to shoot and stop complaining yeah! I like that guy! Very good video guys... I was wailing for this one but one thing, what was done to the MAC 9DS??? Lol... 😎
We went over it in the video, and it's in the video description. GENGHIS KOMP, Cherry Blossom Stipple, OD Green Cerakote, 10lb recoil spring, and Vinny tuned the stock trigger.
My MAC 9 DS 4.25” became my main carry gun. The MAC 9 DS and my USP-C 9mm are my main carry guns. What’s the website and contact to have that modification done to my MAC?
@markela1313 It was like February after it had some updates. It didn't run really bad per se, but had so many little fitment headaches with holsters, magwells etc where it's slightly off. Mine had a few issues like incredibly tough safety, the safety disconnector once in a while giving me a dead trigger. Some coating deficiency it seemed like. Was also hitting way off from point of aim and sights not adjustable. Thought i was crazy but I had other pistols with me to confirm i just suddenly forgot how to aim.
I'd like to see ur review of Apollo 11 by LFA. N AFTER REVIEW head to head with mac 9 ds n Apollo 11, maybe some other ones like Tisas, n Prodigy. Compact vs. Full size. Stack vs. tuned vs. modified. I have the Mac 9ds with all Atlas gun work internals an monsoon tactical red dirt trigger I also has my local gun smith Gulf coast coating and repair port the barrel an slide i have 500 rounds an this thing performs like a dream never have shot a staccato or own one this is my first 2011 and I can run the s*** out of it
To each their own. I know plenty of Prodigy owners that like their guns. However, the vast majority we've dealt with have buyers remorse. It got to the point where we don't even carry the gun in the store anymore. To be clear though, the point we were trying to make is that the Prodigy is a POS for the cost of the gun. If that thing was in the $800-$900 range, it would be a different story. Though $1300-$1400 for a gun you have to mod to get functional...just doesn't seem right.
@@BUCKEYESHOOTINGCENTER the only 2011 ibwould buy under 1000 is tesa Mac 9 with a brushless bull barrel. No way I wouldn't own a 2011 without a bull barrell. If you are a crap shooter with a lower price gun. You'll be a crap shooter with an expensive gun. Just because a gun is expensive does not make you a better shooter
I can unequivocally state I'm a much better shot with this MAC than I would be with a Hi Point. There is something to be said about quality guns performing better. If your fundamentals suck, then they're going to be more present on lower quality guns. Higher end guns have a tendency to hide fundamental training flaws.
@@BUCKEYESHOOTINGCENTER Can confirm im a pretty good shooter with my glock, Im a great shooter with my STI DVC. I easily doubled the distance i could put down identically sized groups down just changing guns. due to the difference in triggers.

Same. I agree with your statement. I threw a SRO on mine and it runs perfect
Classic firear.s has these on sale for 742$ in stock too.

A great gun for those on tight budget, but don’t want a striker fired

This thing with the Monsoon treatment…chef’s kiss! Anything Vinny touches turns to gold.
So...comp further up towards the end of the barrell....or back more, behind the front sights. More dwell time?
Front sight relocated. Comp up front, front iron behind that.

So the real question is ….if you don’t get a stacatto, what would you rank your 2011’s. Platypus’s….?
1200 thru my Mac without a single failure. Highly recommended
We will be doing some business soon I hope. Nice video

Get a Stealth Arms Platypus
