    25 to 35 minutes? Does that mean if someone's just used the toilet you've got to hold it for 35 minutes before you can go?

    how hot does the incinerator get? I've noticed some other companies have different models that are 2,000 degrees or 3500 degrees. How much power does it take? For those in off-grid systems, that's important to know how much power it takes to flush the toilet. Also, why is yours so much more expensive than other companies? Will that change anytime soon?

    • @ecojohnwaterlesstoilet2870
      @ecojohnwaterlesstoilet2870  4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      It gets to about 1400F inside the burn chamber. During operation, the TinyJohn only use about 20W of electricity compared to 2000W on other models. Also, a urine cycle only takes about 20-25 minutes, compared to other models that take over an hour.
      The TinyJohn is the ultimate toilet solution in off-grid applications! Maybe a little higher price tag than the cheapest models, but it will have very low operating cost, and long life span, so if you calculate your total cost over 5-10 years, you will actually see that the TinyJohn is a more economical solution, and you will have a more aesthetically designed toilet.

  • @carmas54
    @carmas54 ปีที่แล้ว

    can you flush and have it drop into the incinerator pot and not have it incinerate every time you flush? And then decide to burn it after a couple of flushes. I know it interrupt every time the lid is lifted, after use it then continues and then eventually stop once everything is incinerated, or the answer keep the lid open so it doesn't start the cycle?

    • @ecojohnwaterlesstoilet2870
      @ecojohnwaterlesstoilet2870  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There is a button one can use to manually open/close the trap door without initiating a burn cycle, so you can use it a couple of times without burning if you prefer to do so. But, in general, it's good practice to initiate a burn cycle after each use, otherwise the bowl will start to fill up.

    • @donkingdonkey4764
      @donkingdonkey4764 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@Steven-gv1ke sure. I put it in an RV. It sort of worked once, but not well. It constantly had connection issues… as in takes 30min for you to get it to enter a burn. It took more than 3 burns to make ash. And then never worked again after moving the RV. After removing the toilet, I opened it up to see the connections to the board… it’s absolute rubbish. There is zero chance you can move this pos without a connection coming loose. It is not made for an RV and not made to move. There is no way it was ever tested as such.
      The real bogus part is even if this was stationary it’s still horrible. Too hard to “connect” the controller and the toilet and the burn is entirely inadequate.
      To make matters worse, nothing else works well either…. The drop doesn’t work right, the closing of the inner lid doesn’t work right. It’s ridiculous. So this is your process in a stationary space:
      Use toilet. Try to connect toilet for 30min.
      Give up or get lucky.
      Drop contents. Get stick to help it drop. Play with 💩 hoping to close burn door.
      Burn so everything smells of burned 💩
      Come back and see nothing is burned
      Try to connect for 30min
      Burn more
      Try to connect for 30min
      Burn more
      Take half burned 💩 out because only one or 2 uses fit.
      You can buy mine if that sounds good! Just let me know.

      @@donkingdonkey4764 I appreciate your explanation. That sucks bro. Sorry to hear it didn't work out. You definitely saved me some money! After more research I found "Incin-oilet" which has been manufactured since the mid 1950s, and still in business. Apparently they use very low tech (not complicated) design that is very durable and been tested for almost 70 years. I've seen many people say they went 7 years with the their toilets before they had to do any maintenance, and even then the parts are super easy to get, and the manufacturer has posted videos on line showing how to replace the parts that wear out. Basically if you can replace a heating element on an old school mechanical dryer from 25 years ago, you can replace these parts. Nothing is digital. Check them out. They are made in Dallas, Tx.
