A buddy of mine who I railroaded with for a number of years was an engineer on the Blue Ridge Southern for a while. The closing of the paper mill must be a hard hit for them.
Josh, I've been following your channel for a couple years and your videos never disappoint. I have even more respect for people that build such expansive layouts now that I'm the turmoil of trackwork.
Great video Josh, thats what makes Model Railroading awesome, our favorite roads will always be busy hauling Freight, my favorite road Conrail will always be busy in the era I model of 1985!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome! I moved to Toledo, OR last year and Watco runs the local switching operations for the Georgia-Pacific Pulp Mill in town. I've been wanting to paint up a Loco for a shelf layout or something
It's always a pleasure to visit the latest on the layout... There is simply no doubt in one's mind regarding the setting, for the scenery and all the little details add up perfectly. I have never railfanned the Murphy branch but recall well reading various articles about it over the years. I suppose the only Watco units I've seen have been over here on the Sidney line in western North Dakota/eastern Montana and they are on the tired side compared to his good looking units here. Thanks for sharing, as always!
It's actually not as hard as people think. Bachmann, as well as a few others, make a drop-in module for them that fits under the truck. The issue is that most of them are comically oversized
Didn’t you design a model of the Asheville mulch hoppers that watco owns now? They recently were in the yard after being in storage in Hendersonville for some time. The NS logos are blacked out .
I would love to see your layout, I bet (know) I could get lost in yesteryear for hours just sitting eyelevel listening and watching trains come round a corner/ disappear into a tunnel/ meet side by side or even a double header. Thanks for the videos so I can at least get the idea. I have old HO stuff from my childhood (70's-80's) but just lack the time and space right now. And the wife knows the only way that stuff leaves the house is after my funeral LOL. Thanks again for the entertainment P.S. did you ever get your coal loader working?
I've never heard of Watco's Blue Ridge Southern RR until now. And I must say, your layout looks so realistic it could easily be mistaken for the real thing.

Nice to see an Athearn blue box SD45 still earning it's keep!
Love your railfaning videos! You’ve mastered the art of portraying models in an amazingly realistic manner.
Awesome as always!!
I spotted WAMX 3023 GP30M with almost the same paint just the other day at a paper mill in south eastern WA!

Love your videos. The prototypical sounds is the icing on the cake.

Very true, my favorite railroad (the orangeville brampton railway) got ripped up 3 years ago but it's still running in ho scale

Excellent looking Blue Ridge Southern Units. great video.
Very cool. I agree with the Blue Box SD45 comment. Looking great.
Always a treat when you post a video
Wow very well done with nice shots and fantastic scenery. Subbed! WAMX is around here, as the Alabama Southern. Thanks!
When I heard the name Sylva, my ears perked up, as I'm presently working that neck of the woods with steam power courtesy of the Railroader PC game.
Great video as always. It was nice meeting you and your dad at Springfield
Love it Josh! Love it!
I love you’re railroad it’s inspired me so much
Great video and thanks for sharing. Dave
Like the different shooting angles. Something to consider on my next video.
Very cool video and layout. Thanks!
Very nice layout.
Dude! Love the layout and whats it has become. Have you ever thought of doing a steam excursion video?
Where is this model railroad, and whole built it? The scenery and weathering are amazing!
Another spectacular video.....
At about 13:30 there appears to be a blue light on the signal house. Is that a DS call light for some crew?
Nice EMD SD45's
I really need to tear down and start on my new layout! 😔

Hey Josh, my name is also Josh, but anyways. Does Blue Ridge southern run the Asheville sub now IRL, or is that just for fun ops?
I want to like this video, but i wouldnt want to ruin the perfect 300.
To late fir that it's at 702 now because of this well made video

How do i get this i neeeeeeeeeed this
@NSmodeler24 could you weather an engine for me for my dads birthday?
Looks new. No dirt or rust on the engines and cars.
would u like to sell one of Watco's Blue Ridge Southern or can u make me one
I'm still not a fan of the Real sounds covering up the model sounds, feels cheap to me!
