I really appreciate what you have shared about your locomotive roster. I am relatively new to the hobby, and acquired an Athearn Cotton Belt GP60, with the specific intention of weathering and patching UP. However, I have never done any weathering or patching before. Anything you would be willing to share on your process would be greatly appreciated, given what you did with that SP locomotive. Thank you! Very inspiring wirk
Thanks Josh! Man you do great work! Thanks fer sharin'! The little yard B unit is called a "calf". With an A unit they're called a "Cow and calf". (Well, of course they are!)
Love to see the fleet of locos. I’m still in the “acquisition” phase of the hobby and am working on getting some more modern cars for my layout as well as the occasional locomotive. A majority of my models are either from starter sets of Bachman or second-hand from a hobby store I love because of the owner’s kindness to me since I was around 8 and first got interested in the hobby (I’m now 23 and still willingly make the 6 hr trip yearly or so to visit). I have several newer locomotives, including a Walthers Proto DCC ready SD70 ACe in BNSF colors (5983) and a Union Pacific SD 40-2 painted in a special scheme for United way charities. I don’t have a DCC system yet (plan to get one once I finally graduate from pharmacy school in just about 2 years), but found 2 hardwired SD 40-2’s that we’re an Aethern Blue Box set. They are not quite fully operational at the moment. Had my friends at roundhouse help me test and one just doesn’t run (power isn’t getting through the frame to motor, but motor runs); the other literally barely crawls at full power. I am excited to continue with the hobby and make connections to learn more skills in the future
A very plentiful and amazing roster, man! I'm honestly truly intrigued on looking into getting my own small CSX Roster someday! A small mix of EMD and modern GE
Wow! That is truly an impressive roster. I've always liked local and yard power, and you did an excellent job representing typical NS power from those categories. I railfan the NS DeButts Yard in Chattanooga TN sometimes and typical yard power there is SD40-2s and a couple of Geeps, but I'll occasionally see an MP15 also.
Some years ago model railroader did an update article on the Utah Belt, where the layout owner stated that the layout was finished, for all intents and purposes. A magnificent layout, indeed. But then he decided that finished wasn't exactly true, so he started removing some of the old trees and replaced them with taller, more mature trees. Remarkable modeler.
K (series), 5 (total of 5 bells on horn), h (high manifold), L (has a 1L bell), a (has either a 3a or 4a bell). 8099 also has a k5hla now. Used to have a standard k5hl, but after getting fixed, it received a k5hla. 8099 has bells 1L, 1, 2, 3, 4a and 8105 has bells 1L, 1, 2, 3, 3a.
You should update your 8099's Number boards cause the real unit was repaired but given different version of the Number boards with White numbers on a Black background
What do you use/ buy to make the brass handrails for your models? I have several that have broken plastic handrails and would like to fix em up. Thank you
Fantastic roster. You have come a long ways in your modeling. It looks so real. Where did you have the Utah Belt decals made? I have always wanted to do one of Eric's models.
Do you sell you custom sounds? Can you do a video on how you do custom sounds?? Hard for us Aussies who model NS or US power to get our own sounds.... Great roster of Locos..
In an older video you said that it is possible to get your costume sounds via Lombard hobby. I checked the homepage but I can’t find them. Is there any other way? I don’t have Facebook 😅 Greetings from Germany. P.S.: is there any way to know when you sell some engines? Would like to buy your awesome modified locos.
Great video, as always Josh. What are your thoughts on AC44C6Ms? I seem to recall a kitbashing video you made a while back but I've also heard a rumor Scale Trains is working on some. Any thoughts?
Do you make 3 d printed parts? The reason I ask is I have 2 GE engines in 7.5 inch gauge 1/6- 1/8th scale backyard train locos. One is a Santa Fe C44-8 regular cab & a CSX B40-8 regular cab also. Both have the Dash 9 exhaust stack but according to your video I need to change them a bit. It looks like I could add a 3d printed piece to the top of the dash 9 exhaust stack & it would look a lot more prototypical or at least better.
Your ns roster is truly spectacular and it has grown so much over the years, Can't wait to see them running on your layout and others!!!!

Nice josh! I'm a big fan of your roster, very nice man!
Great to hear back from you again! Great roster as always.
Those short diesels are hilarious. I hope you get to run those at a show or something.
Thanks Josh! Man you do great work! Thanks fer sharin'! The little yard B unit is called a "calf". With an A unit they're called a "Cow and calf". (Well, of course they are!)

Glad to see you back at making some videos.
I like the short dash.9 locomotives looks cool.
Absolutely amazing Josh! Thanks for posting buddy! 👍
I believe the cabless switchers were referred to as calves. Slugs were cabless GP or SD units, IIRC.
Very nice video Josh, the horn that NS 8105 is equipped with is the K5HLAR-24.
K5hlar-23a iirc. 8105 had its #4 bell replaced with a 3a.
You and your Dad's attention to detail and knowledge is impressive. I always enjoy your videos and a Thumbs Up from this spectator..
I'm actually watching this video BECAUSE of the "Time and Work" you put into them. You do beautiful work
The last NS units are really funky.
I love your layout josh I love come visit your layout someday ns and csx are so cool
The dash .9s are hilarious

THE CHIBI DASH 9s ARE STILL ALIVE YAYYYYY
I like how you said "a couple of dash 9's" when you should have said "quite a few dash 9's"😂
Nice! I wish I could have one tho.
Dapper! 🤙
I love Lombard hobbies

Awesome video! Hope you are doing well in school… what are you up to? Thanks and be well!
Whaddup, Josh!

Can you give me an honest review on some of the ScaleTrains units you have? I’m really interested in a couple of the C40-9s.
UTAH BELT I WANT ONE
Awesome roster and awesome video! What ever happened to the video of the Utah Belt running on Pierre Larson’s layout?
You should update your 8099's Number boards cause the real unit was repaired but given different version of the Number boards with White numbers on a Black background
Very nice!
I’ve seen 7667 in Fostoria leading a NS freight
Wondering where the AC44C6M went to?
And we still need more 😂
Woah
Utah Belt! KCS! Make that CPKC.
What do you use/ buy to make the brass handrails for your models? I have several that have broken plastic handrails and would like to fix em up. Thank you

You should do a backdated roster with southern and NW power to run every now and then
Fantastic roster. You have come a long ways in your modeling. It looks so real. Where did you have the Utah Belt decals made? I have always wanted to do one of Eric's models.
Nice Roster Video
Do you sell you custom sounds? Can you do a video on how you do custom sounds?? Hard for us Aussies who model NS or US power to get our own sounds....
Great roster of Locos..
Have you thought about building a GP38-3 the 5800s?

is that still masking tape on the door window of CSXT 252 at the end of the video?
When did you get the csx es40dc? #835. That locomotive looks nice.
What’s Utah belt?? I’ve never heard or seen that locomotive brand
Are you bending your own wire for your brass hand rails? I’m looking to upgrade from the plastic ones.
Will you ever make a video on how you made the squished locomotives
Nice fleet, has there ever been a video of the steam engines running on the layout?
Is this because you wanted to or because I commented asking if you had 9880?
Sure was lot of ns locomotives on the table
In an older video you said that it is possible to get your costume sounds via Lombard hobby.
I checked the homepage but I can’t find them. Is there any other way? I don’t have Facebook 😅

That CSX 835 is a es44ah low numberboard not to be a geek but yeah.
