    Thank you very much for this mini course. Anyone can learn to use any program, they just need a little motivation and an instructor who teaches what is really essential in the program so that the person can continue training and become more interested in learning the rest later. I'm very happy to have learned the essentials to get started in Marvelous Designer with you, it's something that I believe will add a lot to my future projects and I was very pleased with how this course was divided and explained. I wish you every success

    For anybody whose patterns showed up incorrect/glitchy in Blender, this helped me resolve the issue:
    In Marvelous Designer, open the UV Editor window and right-click in the empty space to get the "Reset UV to 2D Arrangement" option. Once the arrangement has been reset, you can highlight all the patterns and right-click on the selection to get the "Fit UV to 0-1" option.
    These two steps should reset the patterns' UVs neatly for export.

    The huge file size is because the topstitch is getting exported as OBj. If we change it to type "texture" then the file size drastically decreases.

    this was literally one of the best tutorial series ever.. you are an amazing teacher!! i’m wondering if it’s possible to take the whole model into unreal or something to use as a player character for a game. the cloth simulation is perfect for a cinematic or something!!!

      Thanks glad you enjoyed it! The best way I've found to bring it into unreal is to export the character & clothsim as an Alembic file from Blender

    please make more context like this.
    i am a pattern designer for clothing.
    i am using Optitex and CLO 3D..
    but want to present like this in blender rendering .
    this give me much understanding of blender and work flow..
    love to watch Specifically more controlled and detailed video on blender.
    how to import, which format . how to add texture of fabrics. if we have simple plain fabric in CLO3D. etc.

    Hey man first of all thank you for the tutorial series! That is awesome i have learned a lot! But, recently I am struggling with syncing the cloth animation with the original fbx animation from mixamo. It looks like the base model is glitching through my cloth animation. I can't find a way to fix that. Any tips for this kind of situation?

    @veryveig All three parts are great tutorials! However, you missed a pretty important step.. unless I didn't catch it.. How was the clothing animated, before bringing it into Blender? I'm not talking about the simulation.. It looks like when it was imported into Blender.. you said you had to match-frame the existing animation with the avatar's. So.. what gives?

    Hey please help. I love this tutorial. Very detailed. My issues is that i put gloves on my character and the gloves keep falling off once the animation gets to fast. and also my clothes keep coming through each other. I put them on different layers and everything. I have a very strong PC But it not animating chorectly. Please help me. What can i be possibly doing wrong

      If I ever need a higher resolution result I convert it to a quadrangulated topology in MD (static) and then use a surface deform modifier on the original triangulated sim in Blender 😎

    Hey there. I've exported a wonderful shiny dress, but for some reason, the "shininess" doesn't appear in Blender T_T. Do you happen to know why, and how to fix this? I've got the dress itself in Blender, no issue, but it's just not shining, and it really ruins it...
    EDIT:
    Alright, kinda solved it already, lol. In Blender, in Viewport Shading, I changed the setting to "MatCap". It makes it shine a little more, but it's still not like in MD.

    Did anyone had a "vertex count mismatch" issue in mesh cache modifier? I did this tutorial step by step and I had this problem that don't let me to play the animation that I have on my clothes. :( This is so frustrating, I can't find the solution.

      I've found the only reliable format to export animations from Marvelous Designer is .MDD

    Yo what have you been doing now that blender 4.0 removed the legacy OBJ import? I always get a vertex count mismatch now when importing the mdd

      I've still been using the same workflow and haven't had any issues - Usually I only get that error if I have updated the clothing OBJ without resimulating the animation too

      it took about 2 hours - I had it rendering at 32 samples with Optix denoiser enabled so that helps to speed things up!

    when I import the clothing to blender, and I tick off the auto smooth option for normals, the textures still have black patches all over the place :/

      Try turning off the 'Auto Smooth' option in the vertex properties of the mesh

      I'm not sure I still use version 9 as I find their latest releases don't actually offer any improvements and overall have worse UI and usability :(

      They did change it, what I had to do was delete the model and re-import it. There is an arrow at the bottom of the window, and if you click that you will see the animation window. Once your re-import the skateboarder model you will see it, I set my animation setting to "Animation Stable" and then click the record button.

    6:03. I followed this tutorial couple months ago & plugging the alpha worked for me but I have done this a few more times after then & it never seems to work. I plug in the after & it still shows the black bar. Trying again right now & it's still not changing. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

      Work once for me, but not anymorE. It's like it's clipping or something. When i press L to select all the faces attached to the sticker and move it a little bit, the black is removed... but the sticker is floating lmao

      @@bigdaddyproduction7266 I actually found an alternative. I go into edit mode, select a face of the sticker or something, plug in the alpha and under material properties, I change the blend mode from opaque to alpha blend.

    I've tried to follow this the best to my abilities, but this has been such a struggle for me. I ran into problems with my base mesh avatar from blender being the right scale, importing my animation, exporting my animation as an mdd. That part is really getting to me, I have no idea why my garments won't sync up correctly with my model in blender.

      @@xdepredatex You know I caught myself in the exact same situation. I made it to the blender import step with these tutorials and my own assets, and can't seem to figure my way around correctly importing into blender without issues. I'm considering going back and buying his asset pack, 30$ seems worth it. But, through the 10+ hours I've spent trying to find resources to help me correctly import my design into blender I realized that Clo3d (sister software of marvelous designer) is actually perfectly suited to my needs for animating/showing off my clothing design. I'd recommend checking out their animation workflow and seeing if it works for your project, it's a relief having the garment creation and animation all done in a single software.

      Don't Parent as automatic weights. Select your shoe, then select bone in the foot and 'Set parent to > Bone' (Ctrl + P)

    I'm unable to edit the induvidual png overlays.. when I go into edit mode it just looks like 1 massive mesh.. anyone?

      open the material for each png overlay, and ad mix shader and transparent shader like in this video th-cam.com/video/6ExiMqTk5mw/w-d-xo.html

      Change the blend mode of the images in material settings to alpha blend
