How to do a multi pass for thread milling in Mazatrol program. Also, where is the option to set tool offsets for tool geometry and diameter page? It usually entered into tool data page. Is it selectable option where to input the tool offsets? I'm currently assigned to run the Mazatrol Smooth VC500.
Thread Milling can be accomplished in a MAZATROL Unit using either a Circle Mill Unit with a TORNADO move or a PLANET CYCLE in a TAPPING Unit. If you wish to do multiple radial passes, try programming two separate units at different diameters. Tool offset information can be entered in TOOL DATA or TOOL OFFSET. These fields either work independently or together depending on your parameter configuration. We recommend using TOOL DATA. Please contact your nearest Mazak Technical Center for support if you have more questions.
Why do you guys at mazak not do online tutorials on how to use mazatrol and how to program, Like companies such as HAAS. They make guys like me want to learn and the company i work for only runs mazaks but i cant always look to my coworkers for help. It would send you guys to a whole new level if you taught online courses for free thru youtube. Now i get it that means it's taking bread crumbs out of your wallet but, think about the back end. If you teach on youtube that would mean your company is self marketing the brand. If would allow you to make more sales knowing that you care about the future of manufacturing. I am a nobody machinist for a small company but i know i could further my career within the company i work for if i had more resources that didnt cost me an arm and leg to learn from. I hope this gets to you and thank you for taking the time to read this.
Thanks for the recommendation! We are in the process of developing some new videos with step-by-step tips on how to program using MAZATROL, which we hope to have published shortly. You can also take advantage of our online training opportunities through Tooling-U, which include courses on MAZATROL, EIA/ISO and basic program setup (www.mazakusa.com/customer-support/progressive-learning/). Robin Cave also has some great video tips on using our SMOOTH controls here: th-cam.com/play/PLkV1mpxdeBIMUNJk6JERZLewbr8cDpRKM.html
Another question, is there any set up position for tool load/unload/visual inspection where you can set the axis position closer to operator for a much easier and faster tool change/inspection. I saw the M152 for set up position to move the axis after the program finish including door override activation. Also , when I touch my tool it just retract at Z axis not in set up position.
You can change the location of the table with the RETURN field in an END unit in a MAZATROL program. In the RETURN field you can choose ZERO, FIXED PT, OR ARB PT. Please contact your nearest Mazak Technical Center for support if you have more questions.
Please give me a mazak programming manual .....And also I'm in omnitack company in India. And how to show in machine programing pdf and all other usb & copy program... This type of work with mazak please give me sujetion
Does the most up-to--date Mazatrol software in the new Smooth machines generate adaptive clearing patterns for milling operation or are they the same as the integrex? I've always loved Mazatrol for all the turning and "point-machining" applications but it's a bit behind on the milling side of things. Also, did you add polygonal machining into Mazatrol? I was surprised that I had to make my own macro program and use the "add-in" feature to make it easier for the new people at my work.
You can use adaptive tool paths in certain milling units like slots and line left or line right. They are somewhat limited though. In slotting units you can’t make a slot wider then double the size of the end I’ll your using so if your using a 20mm end I’ll it give give you an alarm on any slot wider then 40mm.
If you go to any pocket milling strategy in Mazatrol, where you would normally select between CW or CCW for climb or conventional cutting, look for a button labelled IPM (Intelligent Pocket Milling). This is our modern constant tool engagement roughing strategy to enable higher material removal rates and increased tool life. Always remember this style of toolpath requires having lots of room for the tool to move. If you need help finding the right settings to suit your need, remember Mazak Applications Engineers are here to help! www.mazakusa.com/offices-and-distributors/
@@hdfanboy If you need Intelligent Pocket Machining on a slot wider than the slotting unit will process, it will also be possible using a pocketing unit. I have not tried to do what you say personally, but it wouldn't hurt to contact your local Mazak Applications department for assistance if you have further questions! www.mazakusa.com/offices-and-distributors/

I will agree, that Mazatrol is indeed powerful, and does shop floor programming exceptionally well. However, shop floor programming is going the way of the Telegraph. Why waste valuable machine time programming, when those tasks are much more thoroughly completed and validated offline in a CAM environment, while the machine is making parts? High value / high volume parts that require absolute traceability and process control would also never allow for shop-floor programming. Yes, Mazatrol is a great tool for smaller, mom & pop types of shops, but even most of those now have greater engineering sophistication than what shop-floor programming provides. I would like to see the development emphasis be elsewhere in the products.

If they did, Sam wouldn't be as cocky in person.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but who buys a machine like this and then programs it at the control and not in a CAD CAM package..??
It comes with cam but u can do it at the machine too
Mazatrol is the cam package on pc

It's definitely not faster
