Yeah, let's be honest, these headsets you shove your phone into are NOT VR headsets. No matter how hard the companies that sell them try to tell you they are. Imagine giving someone one of these as their first VR experience, they'd genuinely never pick up VR ever again because they'd think it was absolute trash.
I bought one of those from VR box,but it turned out that my phone has no gyroscope so I can't use it for anything else than watching split screen videos on TH-cam.....

my first vr headset was something similar in 2015, i don't consider 3dof smartphone vr cases "real vr" but mine was a bit different.... i installed on it a bunch of sensors, using wii bar to track movements, no motion controller, only pad or mouse and keyboard, i played the entire of half life 2 in this way. it was still horrible, but i felt like i was in the future before everyone. oh good old times...
