"dirty socks" smell for us in the north for fall is goldenrod usually. not sure when it blooms down there, but goldenrod is usually a lighter amber color.
@hefleyhives fall in my area we don't have much Japanese knotweed, but if the goldenrod doesn't produce, they'll get the knotweed. You might not be able to see it, but the bees will find it lol
Are the med boxes surplus equipment to you? I'm just getting started and am looking for use equipment. Have one hive that was a swarm last year I got by accident. I am moving and will be in your area on the way from point A to B.
Thank you for the reply. I figure a shot not takin is a shot missed. I had a chance to purchases a complete "old timers" set up but there is no way I could move it all half way across the country. The bees here are already capping honey wish I could keep them here longer.@@hefleyhives
13 dang I've never seen 1 that low. Thanks for sharing your time.
Me either but it was extremely dry at the time
@@hefleyhives Does it make it more difficult to extract being that dry?
Yes, depending on the honey. Cotton is thin to begin with

This was in the late summer. Plus we don't have very much goldenrod around here.

Not surplus, I've put them to use the past couple of years.

The last 2 years the cotton honey has been dark
I had both dark and light last year. The lighter tastes way better to me. What parts are you from?
