Faalele has things that he is good at and things that he is not. A guard being pretty solid at pass pro( that's 47 plays last week, 42 attempts plus 5 scrambles), and pretty solid at inside run blocking (11 plays last week) is a very solid skillset for a first year guard. He will never move in space like Linderbaum or Stanley, but their movement is the reason they were drafted in the first round.t
LOL on the pad level on his trip. For sure I wish he just could get a little lower because the fact that he plays SO HIGH and still doesn't get completely destroyed with leverage every play is a testament to his size and strength. Imagine getting speared by 380 lbs though 😂
I think it comes down to 2 things. He is tall and really heavy, so maintaining that knee bend for every snap is going to be difficult physically, he is probably more concerned about not getting swam if he overcommits than he is about giving knockout blocks.
2:57 that’s because he is and was drafted as a tackle never played guard Ben Cleveland was drafted as a guard but can’t play. That’s why I tell people we got to keep hoping faalele keeps getting better because garbaugh stubbornness and hardheadedness won’t make a change. However, I really applaud his work ethic and determination. He’s been improving since week 1
I’ve been highly critical of Faalele but it’s only fair to give credit where credit is due. He’s still not great but he’s improved since the beginning of the season and at least is serviceable compared to before
The same people screaming for Cleveland are the same ones saying sign saleh or Adam’s lol ravens fans should know how big we are on oline development. He’s not an athletic pass pro lineman he is definitely a force. Can’t wait until his technique catches up with him.
The biggest shock for me is his lack of strength and lack of pancakes. I don't have a major issue with him as I know oline is about a unit more than one person. As a unit the ravens don't give up sacks and they also are able to run. He needs to get more aggressive and stronger . But when he puts it together he has the potential based on size to be dominant. But he will never be quick. What he can he is stronger and more aggressive so it becomes a super power to match what he will never have in speed
Only fan base that can have A 1st rank offense and complain about everything. When you have an elite QB making money and get a elite back you can't have every position be good.
He's NOT a starting guard, period! Harbaugh should be held accountable for not using the players that will perform the best at the skilled positions. I don't need to see what they are doing in practice. I see the issues during the games! Play Cleveland!!!!!
Literally said Ben didn't beat anyone but I don't think Cleveland got any opportunities at RG. Not even in a preseason game. I don't see Faalele beating Pierce, Washington, Beeks, and Jones enough to say he "won" anything.
Instead of trading for a superstar WR, I'd rather see a trade for a veteran OLineman. Although, our offense seems to be doing pretty good right now. I am worried about OLine depth.
He turns sideways because he's really a RT and not a RG... I believe he's more comfortable with that technique after all the years of training that way while even playing RG... He's big and side to side movement is not his specialty, he's use to coming out of his stance and kick backsliding like a true RT where he's mostly only moving to the right... Staying parallel to the line of scrimmage and anchoring is not what he is use to... JMO 🤔
Probably a decent amount, PFF isn't the be all end all but they do have Faalele listed as the 40th rated guard in the NFL and there are 64 starters. His pass pro is generally pretty good, he is good at power, inside zone and duo , outside zone to his side is passable, outside zone and toss away from him is bad. There are teams that don't even run outside zone, so that particular limitation wouldn't matter to them at all.
Vorhees is a downgrade, he was our worst performing olineman before he got hurt. He probably needs another year to rebuild his lowerbody strength and quickness.
LJ bailed him out. He's not the best option at RG. The Oline is almost complete with Mekari at LG and Roger at RT. The problem with FALLele is he loses more than he wins, and knowing our luck, he will do it when the game is most important
I don't care what anybody Daniel is not the answer. It makes me sick that he's even taking the field. He's a liability every single play and he's soft for how big he is
Faalele has been improving steadily so far, and we have him on rookie contract next year too. Maybe Ben is better than him at RG, although that's only based on a 2 game sample size from last year, but unless he is SIGNIFICANTLY better than Faalele, who already has improved from total scrub to not good but playable in just 5 games, it makes more sense to stick with Faalele and let him develop so we have the RG position secured for next year too, vs. going with Cleveland who will almost certainly not be on the team after this season, and now we are back to square 1 at RG next offseason on top of having to figure out LT since Ronnie's not under contract after this season.
He’s too slow and doesn’t have the natural instincts for guard. His whole left he was a tackle and he used his size to manhandle guys. Doesn’t work in the nfl, and his instincts make him want to ride guys out but there’s not enough space

Great film breakdown, Cole !
Keep up the good work of educating the fanbase😊
How wild is it that the fix for this is to push your outside foot up and square up.
I like Daniel man! Let that man work!
Dunno why Harbs hates Cleveland but Imagine if Cleveland OR Mekari is playing RG....
Because he failed a conditioning test a year or two ago
@@jodybold1714 So did Faalele

More Ben Cleveland please.
But I am pleased with Daniel's improvment.
Why are you complaining he did good he’s getting better
@@torronthedon5734 do you think we'd be having this conversation if say Mekari was playing there?
I get it, but ricard has to be more aware on that safety. First one through, is the motto for full-backs from day one of peewee.
Think about how bang bang that is though. How often is he getting someone unblocked on a run play haha
Instead of trading for a superstar WR, I'd rather see a trade for a veteran OLineman. Although, our offense seems to be doing pretty good right now. I am worried about OLine depth.
Olinemen that can step in and play at a high level don't get traded at this time of the year.
Ben Cleveland should get an opportunity

Mekari has shown himself to be deserving of starting guard spot. Once Vorhees healthy what should Ravens do at guard?
Mekari is the swing. He will probably go back to sideline
How many teams besides the Ravens would Faalele be the starter? That’s a tough one to answer
It's not tough at all. He wouldn't start.

Give me Mekari and Vorhees at the guard spots and just let Fa’alele stick to Tackle

Give me Jones at LG and Ben at RG

Daniel Fanlele will be expose and Harbaugh would look lije a fool when it is all set and done. Pride shows his true colors. as a head coach.
Vorhees didn’t look great, and Mekari has been a legit improvement.
Cleveland would be the same over Faalele.
I don’t get the upside of sticking with faalele. Best case he’s a guard we can hide. Worst case is the raiders game. Free Cleveland

What is Harbaugh trying to prove. That's why the Ravens are not winning nothing with that guy.🤔
