I love Bateman, grown up attitude and just goes about being a pro...no drama, no diva presence.

Great personal qualities, yet being a #1 draft pick has yet to translate into appropriate production. As well as a contract extension! In 5 games stats 13 catches- 202 yds- 2 TD. In one game J Chase 10 catches-193 yds-2 tds. That’s a true #1 stats. Bateman is barely a #3.

Bateman is a situational complimentary player and as long as he can produce when his number is called, on a team that is well rounded and that includes a handful of similar players, such as Likely, Andrews, Hill and hell, even Kolar, that will go a long way into complimenting the superstars such as Jackson, Henry and to a degree, Flowers.
Bateman gets OPEN..his quarterback just needs to find him...and on that note, that AFC Championship game last year, when Jackson forced a throw to Likely in the endzone where the Kansas City defense was holding a defensive team meeting and the ball was intercepted? Bateman was WIDE open on the right side of the endzone!

I think it’s more getting him in tune with the offense he’s been there but gone through a lot in his personal life and with injuries so just getting a more locked in version of him every day every week is gonna be great i promise
Lamar is sharing the ball to everybody and that makes the difference in the last 3 weeks.
A healthy Bate is all we need along Zay and the TEs + the king ofc.

Really nice breakdown from an O-line guy, Cole. I was dubious about Bateman from day one. However, I recognize he can separate in a phone booth. So when a team like the Bengals put eight in the box and go man coverage, he's going to be an option. And the quicker the throw, the less time Rashod has to think, which helps overcome his deficiencies.

It's not a question of these two, it's a question of the depth and strength of the rest of the room. If either of them goes down, who steps in?? It's a serious weakness. For that reason and others I'd take Adams.

Oh, in all of my commentary, I failed to answer the question directly: YES, I do think they are both good enough for the Ravens to succeed, especially considering the overall weapons they have.
The Ravens offense is FINE. Adding a Devante Adams would be fine for name dropping purposes OR just to keep him away from the possibility of being acquired by Pittsburgh or even the Jets.
The Ravens are probably going to make a trade deadline deal, but it's probably going to be defensively.
Even the defense is fine, talent wise, just need to fine tune some things...and when they do, by the middle of next month or so, folks really going to be infatuated with this team.
I also expect the defense to rise up this Sunday vs Washington and sort of bring Daniels down to earth a notch...had the game been flexed to Sunday night, he would have really been in trouble!

Agree with everything above. I'd also add that, while the Ravens tend to draft the best player available, they usually work the free agency market by need. Maybe they think differently, but I don't see WR as a need position. Idk if I'd even have it in the top 3, which I think would be all defense, or possibly some O-line depth/upgrade.

Tez walker not getting any opportunities really exemplifies why I hate harbaugh, like he is our fastest weapon with keaton Mitchell out and they refuse to put him on the field. Meanwhile if he was on the chiefs he would be on the field getting at least 2 deep shots a game

I think we should grab Amari cooper. He fits well in a run first system. Also pretty sure the Browns converted most of his contract to a signing bonus so he only costs 1 mil for this yr.
I think Nate and zay are probably enough but why take the risk especially if one gets injured.

On that Hill play where he gets hurt, they should have Bate run a post route so that doesn’t happen and if he sits Bate will be wide open for a TD

Bro🤦🏾…. Bateman was WIDE open on almost every single play you broke down for Zay. SMH, ik him and Lamar have a connection, but if Lamar can find some symmetry down with Bate we’ll be LITERALLY unstoppable. That’s the ONLY game changer we have, that doesn’t have constant chemistry with Lamar.

@@leidonnames1748 Typical goofball, Flowers had 3 receptions for 41 yards the week before. A number one receiver is consistent. The week before this he had 1 catch for 10 yards against Buffalo and then 3 for 20 against Dallas. That’s not a number one receiver you🤡

Bate hasn’t been bad with quitting on plays this year I would purposely watch what he do on clear out routes just to see if he’s selling his route properly and he’s been on point , looking at what George picking doing with his routes on the Steelers we can only hope bate keeps this up bcuz he’ll get his time
He is the only WR was have who can catch a 50/50 ball we just need to involve him. I would question a WR who wasn't upset they are wide open every game and not getting the ball. Need to blame Lamar for that. Open is open has nothing to do with off-season workouts. If he was covered I'd blame Bateman but that man is wide open and Lamar misses him or doesn't see him too much.
Bateman a beast
Bateman is straight. He just had an issue with the drops once he came back from injury last season. He's almost always open due to his great route running.
