    Thanks man! This works great and is the cleanest / cheapest fix I've seen yet. No stealership needed. Harley should have re-called this issue decades ago but chose to hang their customers with the cost. NOT A GOOD LOOK HARLEY!

      When you did this fix did you have to get a different type banjo bolt

    Thanks, found them on amazon. My bike has been sitting for a year now.... I even took the module apart to see if I could clean it. Really should be a recall on this with a redesigned part. Pretty dangerous.

    Thanks brother for your video. I did the same thing on my VRod, on the rear brake. Now I have the front lever of my Ultra locked, I think I'm going to do the same thing and your video was very enlightening for me. I have a 2012 Ultra and a 2012 VRod. Big hug and good roads!

    I hate the problematic rsds system on my trike, no more nanyware! So I decomputerized my trike , carbed it and installed a stand alone ignition system. Plus installed a road glide faring

    After bypass, plug abs module back in and leave it on the bike. abs light turns off

    Gonna do this soon , but in the mean time , my rear was locked up , and I turned ignition on to cycle abs valves , then tapped the front of the hcu until the rear valve freed up , and simply pulled the abs fuse

    And BTW , just called a dealer and the HCU is $735.00 , they fail for two reasons , one not getting the unit cycled and flushed and the other is they fail even with regular maintenance , and if you do your own maintenance you can get an app or tablet for less than $200 and do it yourself instead of paying the dealers

    Riding and wrenching since the late 1970s without ABS and don't need or want it. As more HDs age getting rid of the extra junk will be the wise move.

    Very interesting video, I want to make this change too. My question is what happens to the electrical system? does the ABS warning light stay on? does the control unit have problems in the future? or do I just know how to change the oil pipes?

      Someone else In this comment section actually did what I did far as bypassing the system but left the block in place and left the abs plug connected and that keeps the light off. Otherwise yes you will have a light

    Just picked up the parts for a buddy’s 2012 ultra classic. Thank you for the vid. Ever thought of just plugging the holes on the abs valve and keeping it in place so your light doesn’t stay on?

      @@chickchickboom324 so I connected the lines and just stuck some pieces of shop towels in the open holes. So far great brakes and no abs light. My buddy’s very happy about it. We may get around to proper plugs, but so far, the paper plugs are working just fine. 👍 It does take a bit of work to get the lines positioned with the abs block still taking up all that space.

    My problem is just the opposite, front brake has no pressure, it squeezes right to the handlebar grip first squeeze. No air in the system, bled correctlly. One pump and it's good. Is this a ABS issue?

    • @chickchickboom324
      @chickchickboom324  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very likely. You could test that theory by testing pressure right at the master cylinder. Remove the line and put your finger over the whole and see if it builds pressure first squeeze.

    Why in the HELL is this part so expensive in the first place, resulting in having to bypass it? It seems like a pretty simple fluid exchanger type of box. What is so special that justifies the cost? Just so they can gouge people with the repair cost?
