I disagree with everything tbh. at first I had many of the same feelings but eventually I thought about it, and the reason many things are this way in the trailer is because this is mario’s first adventure and by the end of it, things will become more like the mario universe we know and love
I see the Peach/Luigi swap potentially good for screen- time real estate reasons. We're doing the down the rabbit hole origin story, which means by the time we reach the point of no return, Mario has personal stakes in who he's rescuing because we've seen their relationship.
Exactly, otherwise, why is Mario really saving the Princess? He doesn't even know who she is, and it wouldn't make sense by the end of the movie when Peach is like "Who are you?". This is a good way to set up their relationship so that in the future if Bowser steals the princess, Mario actually has a motive to rescue her.
I don't wanna sound like that person, but grow up, people! It's not Chris Pratt is gonna replace Charles Martinet in every MARIO GAME. This is probably gonna be the only time we see Chris Pratt play Mario. And what's wrong with Chris Pratt as Mario anyways. He does a fairly decent job, especially when we hear more dialogue from him in later footage. Sure, he doesn't have an Italian accent, but neither does Charlie Day. I've rewatched the trailers, and I don't hear an accent in voice.
It’s funny because I’ve actually never been more excited for a film in A very long time. I’ve been OBSESSED with this movie and it weirdly ticks me off when people are upset by it when it doesn’t necessarily do anything super wrong. I don’t really agree with any of your negative points mainly because the movie isn’t out and people shouldn’t judge plot points when the plot isn’t revealed and I guess it’s a little upsetting to see someone else so upset at the movie when it isn’t being given a chance. But, even though I don’t agree with you, I give props to you for defending your points well.

I forgot to say this. 4:31 - Now I don't mind Peach taking an action role, hell it has been done before and we welcomed it after spending years of seeing Princess Peach getting her peach (ba-dum-tiss) kidnapped by Bowser countless of times. But a part of me want Peach to be kidnapped to be a little more accurate to the source. BUT, Don't have Peach just sit around a cage all day, awaits Mario (and Luigi) to arrive. How bout have scenes of her trying to escape (Or at the very least, have her kick major tail before she got kidnapped? Letting the audience know that Peach isn't a weakling.) Have Peach almost sneak out of the castle, only to have caught by Bowser's advanced security is that damn good, but it doesn't stop her from trying! Getting Kidnapped is a cliché, but it doesn't mean it's bad. You have to get the ball rolling somehow. You can still be badass even when you get kidnapped. Everyone can't do everything alone... If I go back and play the original super Mario brothers this movie makes me think when you start out as Mario playing the game you’ll be stopped with a picture of a princess with a text box stopping Mario every few seconds to explain what a pipe is what a Goomba is and how to jump shouldn’t Mario not know any of the stuff but be good at avoiding it on his own without the princess telling him how to get around obstacles to rescue her.
