Wow. This is must see t.v. for all former and current members alike. Glad to see you back in the mix Brotha Struggle, one of the best and most valued here!
This was an eye opening video, the correlations are chilling. Watchtower really is just a business trying to stay afloat. Great to see you making videos Eric, keep up the good work
Love your videos. I'm in my 40's now and I was raised as a JW for most of my youth. I left the religion when I was in high school as I hated it as I grew to see things I didn't like nor understand. I always felt pressured and felt high anxiety when forced to give talks and hold my numbers up high when going door to door and even when I left I had the elders and circuit overseers up my ass 24/7 trying to meet with me and they would always hound me with shepard calls and I finally said "F**K It" in so many ways. I just wanted them to leave me alone. My Pop was an elder as well and he gave them the finger and left and as a family we have gotten along after that. Anyway, I still believe in "God" not sure which one but I do believe and try to live an honest life and I do pray and ask for help wondering where I need to be. It's pretty scary knowing that the JW is all I knew but wondering what else is out there in trying to live an honest life. As far as the rest of your video yes I agree, every time the big wigs were coming into town all of us had to get the Kingdom Hall 110% etc to get ready for the District or Circuit overseer and had it diamonds and work extra hard and it felt like a retail visit from corporate. Anybody else out there feel my vibe or experience? Thanks Brother and have a great New Year. : )
Awesome video, and spot on! Glad to see the familiar face I used to watch when I first woke up. You were the only one I could handle till I got a hold on things. I love Mike, and Kim now, but Mikey was too much for a fresh out of the cult pup! lol. Love ya man! :)
Hello Eric, It's good to have another video from you, sir! I agree with your analysis completey. The WTBTS is a franchise business, and they are feeling the pinch! But they are much more. McDonald's don't tell their customers to shun family members if they don't eat at McDonald's anymore, or choose to buy a Burger King! McDonald's doesn't encourage their customers to eschew higher education, or vilify other restaurants! The business model is the same, but the motive is more than profit. It is the complete control of people's lives. You are a treasured member of our community, Eric! I hope life is good for you, sir. Peace be with you, Excelsior!
Nice to see a new video from you,Eric. After such a long time. Totally agree with your Spread sheet and Business module. The Shop-Floor shelf stacker is always shown the carrot of 'promotion' up the corporate ladder by a sleight-of-hand called 'Showing Spirituality' and , of course, whatever goes up must come down too, a tardy attitude or 'Dissension' is tantamount to derailment of the 'Cherry Cart' ( The Road side variety that are being aired regularly in the town squares here in UK).....and the derailment equals 'Amen Corner'... or out-on-your-donkey...!! Kind Regards and loved the Database... Arnold.
Perfect analogy!!! I always dreaded the circuit serpent's visit. I never liked field service (even though I pioneered) and I felt like the circuit serpent's visit was nothing more than a tent revival meeting drumming up more field service.
great vid Eric! see this is why we need you to continue to make vids. u add a great clear perspective. we know you're busy, and we have lots on youtubw now spreading the tatt. but your input is appreciated. thanks again.
+Geary Kunkel I agree. It involves way more than simply money. They are evil. And they play on words. remember that purple tract entitled Earth's new ruler or one world government?
Great video Sir. And I agree with your business comparison. One major difference. While corporations have to pay tax. The Watchtower has charity status in most countries and cleverly saves itself millions.
I have had these same thoughts - absolutely you are on target! Great job!! The GB have taken a "vow of poverty" - yet have tailored suits, pinky rings, expensive watches, housekeeping, cooks, private housing, laundry service, etc - I'd wager also private jets so they can go "where the need is greater".. like Hawaii, Dubai or Tahiti. All businesses should pay tax. Especially if using free labor and reaping all the benefits of high-class CEOs. I can't wait to see them on "American Greed" one day..
Religion is a business. That's just all there is to it. Since I left the JW organization I became affiliated with a protestant denomination as the secretary/bookkeeper for a local church. My part of the job is all about numbers. What I can say is different about this church and the JWs is that although they don't hide the business aspect of their religious organization, they don't try to make their members feel that they will be destroyed if they leave it. JWs began as a printing company and it never stopped being a printing company. What makes them dastardly this the fact they try to promote it as being God's chosen entity. So, you're spot on with this explanation of things regarding the WBTS.
Totally agree. WT is big business... well, its actually a business that is experiencing fall out, thus the reason for the insanity of the Regional Conventions. Great video!!!
Very interesting Eric, certainly the Watchtower is a tax free publishing company/real estate establishment, rather than a legitimate religion. It's great to have a new JWStruggler video. The advantage in adding the covering of a faith organization is its ability to use the carrot-on-a-stick motivation to get people to work for free, building the KHs and distributing literature all without paying taxes. Have a terrible childhood, work for no pay as well as being forced to live by crazy rules enforced by district managers, BUT you get to live forever in a paradise earth and play with Panda Bears, in the next life.
Bro, you just blew my mind. It seems like one of those things that is hiding in plain sight if that makes sense. On that last point you made it makes me think if they do data mining and somewhere I'm on my wife's record as being a non-jw
Most definitely... It's an intelligent, yet deceptive approach IMO. Use religion as a front, take $ from your members, then invest that $$ through various methods. As long as their members stay misinformed & uneducated (per the GB's request), it makes 4 a fairly EZ ship to steer.... Miss the regularity of your videos, but i'd imagine it could be a lot to consistently make vids. FWIW, you assisted me in 'waking up' via "Elder Recollections" & "Apostasy Trials." Thx my man. Hope you & your family are well...
100% spot on. I think subconsciously we associate the Borg with a battle of good and evil at a spiritual level this perhaps protecting ourselves from the horrible truth that all of this is just for money, just plain ole money. there is no great battle my friends we were just batteries in the Borg like in the matrix.
+Christian Sparlock-Freedom Exactly. I know you know the horrible injustices this group inflicts upon many inside and the ones that wake up to TTATT and have the courage like you to speak out.
Yes !!! Do as you're told , or get demoted or fired , anger the board of directors (GB) , and you have a gag order (disfellowshippment) Hmm.. df is such a strange word , it's highlighted in red as though it's either a fake word or misspelled word lol ! Their made up "pure" language.
The only difference between corporations and the Watchtower is that if I decide to resign from my job, I'm not ostracized and told I will die if I don't reapply.
Application made clear. A publishing corporation (the making of many books that is worrisome to the flesh) with free labor sales force. Weren't we the suckers.
some history (see 1935 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses): Here is the terminology, and what I deduce we would equate to it today. 'Company' = congregation 'Company worker' = publisher 'Company attendant' = congregation elder 'Local Manager' = branch overseer 'Regional Service Director' = zone overseer (?) 'General Manager' = circuit/district overseer (?) (apologies if the modern terminology is out of date. I've been awake and out for quite a while 😆) Also, the country reports give a lot of formalised attention to 'sales', 'quotas', 'printing runs', 'placements', 'hours', etc. Mention of bible studies and baptisms are only mentioned informally - usually as part of the country report narrative. I thought this was interesting, because the core history of the JW.borg is certainly one of a publishing company. The 'religion' part of it seems to be a recruiting and sales motivating tool. i.e. used to push product.
Right to the point brother. All they truly care about is the bottom line. The saddest thing is when someone is in true need and they think they can turn to the Cong for help, well why wouldn't the Cong help one will think, I've been loyal....., but then the Elder Manager says pray more, go in service more, give more to Cong. how does that help the pub? Only helps the Cong bottom line...... Looks good on paper
I suppose I'm too late for my comment to be useful. I'm not a witness. I studied them more than 30 years ago for a master in comparatice litterature. Some times later, I read "Selling for dummies". It looked like the step by step manual used by the witnesses to sell their religion. To the least detail.
Absolutely a business, in fact going beyond ethical business practices by exhorting ice cream money from small children and any other savings they may have acquired.
I'm no longer a Jehovah's Witness but I have zero bitterness towards the organization. The same as I have zero bitterness towards your contentions with them. I understand them and I understand you. All I can do is describe my experience and my experience was absolutely wonderful with them. In the end I did not agree with everything they said but I don't agree with a lot of things people say but that doesn't mean that I have any bitterness towards them. I was nine years old when they first came to my door. and the old lady would sit down and teach me the Bible when nobody else would do that. She never asked my mother for money she never cared about money all she cared about was being there for me as a friend and to teach me so that I can be better equipped in my life which she did. every single Elder I've met all over the world as I've traveled I've been to Russia Mexico and all over the United States have treated me with the utmost of respect and I have learned so much from them that I have not learned from any other religion. and trust me I've gone to a lot of different religions since I have left. there is definitely something special about Jehovah's Witnesses. yes they are the craziest bunch of people I have ever met in my entire life but they are also some of the most amazing people I've ever met. I've seen just about every single episode of your show jwstruggle and every person that comes on that has left the organization I can see some of that amazing spirit that only Jehovah's Witnesses have. I do see the writing on the wall for the organization I do see that one day it will be dissolved simply because a lot of good things get dissolved and that will be a very sad day for me.
+Chris Carr Thanks for sharing your experiences Chris. Your impressions of the JWs I would say are in the minority among those that have escaped the mind control and puritanical teachings that Watchtower refuses to let go of. As for elders, I served WT as one for ten years and I saw all kinds. Many were sincere but even more had only a veneer of love and cordiality. Were you ever an elder yourself? Your view would likely be much different if you saw it from the inside in the back room meetings that last til midnight. The JW culture fosters a rock star mentality among these "gifts in men" and future "princes" as they think of themselves. In everyday society they are janitors and mechanics but when they stroll into a KH with their huge "scripture containing cases" then the authority and elevation goes to their heads in some cases. This is only one small example of the distorted world they have created inside the Wacky World of Watchtower.

+JWStruggle I was never an elder, but I sure did spend enough time with them in the back room with all the trouble I got into if you know what I mean. the brother that studied with me eventually became an elder and he give me a lot of the inside information that you're talking about. he felt very hurt and Abandoned and told me several times that I was one of the few people he felt like he could talk to about these things. but he also told me about other things as well. the times when difficult decisions had to be made and how sincere these men were and how when put in difficult situations they would always try to do the right thing. I'm sorry that you feel that so many of these Elders feel like they're rock stars at the Kingdom Hall even though they are just janitors. I happen to have a lot of friends that were janitors during the days that they weren't pioneering. I actually happen to admire that and think that it is a rare thing to find in the world that is why I have so much respect for them. I think the elders are just like anybody else they have jobs and families and all of these other responsibilities and yet they constantly go out of their way to be Shepherds of a flock that has the craziest bunch of people that you can ever put in a room. from my experience they have made plenty of mistakes but for the most part whenever they made difficult decisions it always came from a very sincere place.
+JWStruggle even watching your disfellowshipping video I couldn't help but admire how much the brothers seem like they really sincerely cared about you and we're really trying to help you. watching those videos did not make me hate the organization it made me admire them even more
+Chris Carr Cosmo and Dennis were very much gentlemen. The new youngest elder to the right (whom I mentored ironically) was quite condescending and arrogant IMO. I know him well, and didn't recognize it in him until I took the time to transcribe the entire three hours which is about 80 typed pages.
Hey Eric... in that first picture you showed of the two JW couples, I couldn't believe it, but the couple on the right was the Feori's (I think that's how u spell it), the district managers of the kingdom hall I studied at in TN...do you know them too, or was that just a random picture... just wondering... anyways, good video as always... keep up
They say that if you want to know if an organization is corrupt then go ahead and follow the money and if it ends at the fancy luxury yacht of some rich entrepreneur or entrepreneurs than you know whats going on. Show me the endpoint of where all of the watchtowers money is going? Where is that person or persons yacht on the Bay in Maui? do the governing body and other leading members of Watchtower lead a comfortable life? Yes. do they get treated like celebrities? yes. but it doesn't mean that they are corrupt. your actions remind me of the pharisees in the bible that criticized the acts of luxury that Jesus partook in. they accused Jesus of somehow being this person that cared more about indulging himself then the needs of the Poor. how far off they were back then and how far off any individual is who criticizes the leaders of Watchtower for just enjoying some basic things. did judge Rutherford take things a little bit to far? yes he did. but I don't think you seem anybody like him since then. in fact you hear story after story of governing body members risking there lives to help brothers in all of the foreign countries that the go to visit. and is it all to jusy make money? yeah right. let's go ahead and visit the poorest countries of the world that have nothing to offer us and this is somehow a wise decision for corporation.
+Chris Carr The GB are treated like Gods on earth, and are obeyed without question by their millions of followers. That is an enormous amount of power, which is more desirable than money to many people. Also, there are ones behind the scenes above these men that are cashing huge checks. It's a multi-billion dollar company, do you think they never spend any of that money lol?
+JWStruggle if it is what you said it is, the it certainly isn't something that should be any concern for us. is there corruption in every organization? Of course there is. without question. I think the bigger point is is the organization itself corrupt and in my opinion it is not. because it doesn't operate in any money market system in any way. if you were trying to prove that the organization is set up in older to make people money or give hi ranking people power you've really gotta stretch the truth in order to prove that. kind of like the organization did when they tried to prove all the things they did in the revelation book. you have to really really stretch the truth to believe that. I mean come on did you ever read any of the yearbooks a lot of these men that were part of the governing body were tortured along with other witnesses while they were governing body members in foreign countries that didn't make the organization a single penny like malawi. what use does an organization that is hell bent on power and manipulation have have to do with going to a country like Malawi? let alone being tortered by the locals by put on their knees in the hot sun all day. this does not sound like a wall street tycoon type of ordeal to me.
With the amount of hate that people have for the Jehovah's Witnesses Organization i am really starting to fear for having an honest positive opinion about them. I'm might have to be like Peter one day and go back on ever even knowing the religion or saying anything positive about them for fear of all the bloodthirsty anti Jehovah's Witnesses out there that might want to look me up and make me pay.
Chris Carr who's HATING?? EXPOSING their dirty laundry as a WHOLE, mainly the watchtower is NOT hating. Since we actually HAVE lived it and NOT just observed as an outsider as yourself, WE KNOW what we are talking about and we TRY to warn others as yourself the REAL TRUTH about what's going on in that organization, so to HELP you AVOID a lifetime commitment to this manipulate mind-controlling CULT and also to help those who are already deeply brainwashed INSIDE. So NOBODY is saying ANYTHING hateful about the witnesses, we are simply speaking the TRUTH about them, the side YOU don't get to see until you're deep in it.
HummingBirdLuvah Every organization has good and bad parts to it. We all know the evils of the Catholic religion. Everyone knows what they've done to children as well. But the Catholic religion does a lot of good as well. And a lot of their culture and history is quite amazing. People that grew up in that culture that went through some of the horrible things also went through some amazing things as well and they wouldn't give up the good because of the bad. Relationships, families, jobs, you name it, just walking out the door you are going to find all kinds of things to complain about if you are looking for them. You see the problem with Jehovah's Witnesses is that they claim to be something so much greater than anything else we can find in the world old and in that process we have such a higher level expectation from them which I don't see as a problem. Anyone whoever stands out as trying to do something different and better will always be overly criticized and unfairly compared to everyone around them. It's just par for the course. The organization itself has done incredible things most importantly putting the idea into people's consciousness that a christian-based religion can possibly have specific guidelines that stop them from participating in political factions and still exist. That in itself is such a Preposterous idea so as to make any rational person say it will never happen. But it did and we don't give it to credit that it deserves. We just move over it and criticize the strict policies that shun people and cause heart breaks within the family. Which I don't blame as well people should have a right to voice their opinion if they've been hurt. But people should also be free to appreciate that along with all the terrible experiences they also learned a lot of good things that have shaped them into the kind of person that they are, based on being in that organization.
Just so JW's know...The conformity you boast about is seen as creepy and cultic to outsiders. The idea that every single Kingdom Hall gives the exact same talks isn't a show of unity. It is a sign of total control. A religion can be unified in purpose and still allow individual priests or pastors to preach in a unique fashion, or choose different topics to speak on.
Looks like you’ve drifted off of the truth and just in to slander, in my opinion. There’s many things to criticize the organization for. But to insinuate The organization is all about money and “sales“ seems beyond silly. I think it’s been 40 years since the watchtower started giving away all kinds of literature, even expensive literature, to the public for free. Not even requesting a donation. And as far as having circuit and Districk overseers, that would seem like overall a good thing. There is a thing called confirmation bias, and when you’re looking to find something negative about the organization then that’s what you see.
Wow. This is must see t.v. for all former and current members alike. Glad to see you back in the mix Brotha Struggle, one of the best and most valued here!
So happy to have you back you tubing! I've missed the intellectual and calm method you have for explaining what's really going on. TY
Great info i never thought of before. You were my first youtuber i watched when i was waking up :)

Great video. Loved the graphics.Spot on with the comparison to a corporate structure.
Great comparison, and videos. Glad to see you back.
Yes, its a Buisness and this is how it is managed. Thanks for making it very clear.
Nice to see a new video from you,Eric. After such a long time.

It's not personal, it's just big business as usual. Exceptional video Eric.
You are bang on the money.
As you connected these dots, I became increasingly wrathful at the idea that they exist to hurt people for money. Solid comparisons.
A+
+Son of Thunder Very true Eric. It's business as usual for these Watchtower water carriers.
+Geary Kunkel I agree. It involves way more than simply money. They are evil. And they play on words. remember that purple tract entitled Earth's new ruler or one world government?
There was. £11,00 ,,in the contribution box,, not even enough to pay. E bill,, so no.they,r not out to rob no one as you can see,,, its free coice,,
Great video Sir. And I agree with your business comparison. One major difference. While corporations have to pay tax. The Watchtower has charity status in most countries and cleverly saves itself millions.
I came to this exact conclusion a few years ago. Now that I'm an adult and work in corporate America, it's so clear to me!
Very good points Eric ! Come to think of it you're right, and Circuit Overseers are just District Managers
I have had these same thoughts - absolutely you are on target! Great job!! Very clear it's A big business. All done for mostly free with volunteers.. A great business model raking in millions
My thoughts exactly. Shared

Thank you Eric. I follow your example
great video!
I agree 1000%.very truth. don"t forget the old days they call the congregations . companies
insightful - thanks!
never seen things from that perspective before.
Interesting. Sounds to me tthey should lose their tax exempt status. excellent video...You hit the nail on the head!!!
Yes !!! Do as you're told , or get demoted or fired , anger the board of directors (GB) , and you have a gag order (disfellowshippment)

America's #2 Religious Lifestyle Brand!
Application made clear. A publishing corporation (the making of many books that is worrisome to the flesh) with free labor sales force. Weren't we the suckers.
Loved this!! So creepy to see it in this light
"sell" what?
Hi where are you now
some history (see 1935 Yearbook of Jehovah's Witnesses):
Here is the terminology, and what I deduce we would equate to it today.
'Company' = congregation
'Company worker' = publisher
'Company attendant' = congregation elder
'Local Manager' = branch overseer
'Regional Service Director' = zone overseer (?)
'General Manager' = circuit/district overseer (?)
(apologies if the modern terminology is out of date. I've been awake and out for quite a while 😆)
Also, the country reports give a lot of formalised attention to 'sales', 'quotas', 'printing runs', 'placements', 'hours', etc. Mention of bible studies and baptisms are only mentioned informally - usually as part of the country report narrative.

they need to have a certain amount of time per month does that have anything to do with your theory
I suppose I'm too late for my comment to be useful. I'm not a witness. I studied them more than 30 years ago for a master in comparatice litterature. Some times later, I read "Selling for dummies".

McCult with a side of fear, control and shunning if you don't meet the quota or fill the seats.
Follow the money$$$ ---> shareholders of The People's Pulpit. They paved paradise and put up a McKingdom hall.
Hey Eric... in that first picture you showed of the two JW couples, I couldn't believe it, but the couple on the right was the Feori's (I think that's how u spell it), the district managers of the kingdom hall I studied at in TN...do you know them too, or was that just a random picture... just wondering... anyways, good video as always... keep up
+RP Bandz Small world isn't it!
when I was Catholic and Episcopal bishops did the same thing. Churches are non profit corporations right?
also if JW is truly a business what's the point
Inform yourself about „Solon Association“
For thirty cents xtra, would you like to bible study size that? Brilliant comparison
hey eric how much does a franchise cost oh dont worry about it i heard they are going broke
lmfao my lil bro had been describing the religion as any regular corporation out there...reporting production, advertising, positions etc. lmfao
+Salvi1415 Hi Salvi! Yep that's what it is
+Salvi1415 Hi Salvi! Yep that's what it is
It’s blatantly obvious they share the same business model. Anyone who works in a corporation knows this.
Great. its treu.
I mean come on did you ever read any of the yearbooks a lot of these men that were part of the governing body were tortured along with other witnesses while they were governing body members in foreign countries that didn't make the organization a single penny like malawi. what use does an organization that is hell bent on power and manipulation have have to do with going to a country like Malawi? let alone being tortered by the locals by put on their knees in the hot sun all day. this does not sound like a wall street tycoon type of ordeal to me.
hehe, business melody with religious lyrics
😂😂😂 love that video title
sounds like what Jesus did. hmm.
Int there some.silly attitudes fr.ex jw,s..comeon lads be fare,,, you no how difict.it.is ,, with out extra indurances,,,
Just like in the days of Noah JESUS CHRIST will meet YOU very busy with ur nonsense therefore repent
+Gift Nwachukwu Repent from what GN? Explain please what sin I have committed?
Looks like you’ve drifted off of the truth and just in to slander, in my opinion. There’s many things to criticize the organization for. But to insinuate The organization is all about money and “sales“ seems beyond silly. I think it’s been 40 years since the watchtower started giving away all kinds of literature, even expensive literature, to the public for free. Not even requesting a donation. And as far as having circuit and Districk overseers, that would seem like overall a good thing. There is a thing called confirmation bias, and when you’re looking to find something negative about the organization then that’s what you see.
