I saw it and I didn’t regret it one bit, it was a lot of fun. This movie’s the best depiction of the turtles you know as teenagers, like the original cartoon.
I do agree with you, meaning they weren't represented very well, but they did do a very good job representing them as teenagers. Also I think they look a bit weird because their supposed to look like doodles of a teenager in a math book or something. Thats what they said anyway. Other than that, good video!
You ain't wrong about how your expectations were most definitely flipped on their head in a bad way. I loved the art style and story because it puts the brothers in a situation that's a bit more influenced by childish wonder. They literally start out knowing almost everything they can about humans, yet they can't hang out with them. As for the art style, yeah it can be clowned on, but it was intentionally made that way since it's meant to represent the drawings kids would do in school when they were bored. Which is why the anatomy is so screwed up. Not just for the humans, but for the main characters as well. Overall, I'm sad you couldn't enjoy the movie like I did. I hope the sequel could redeem that someday, but that's asking for a lot.
Great Video, I am all in for unique and risky animation and story telling but I can agree, the movie was great but not to my liking. I've seen at least 3 generations of TMNT; that being 2003, 2007, 2012 and 2019. I love the different iterations but so far this one felt really inconsistent both with the story and the IP representation in general
IMO i loved the movie and thought the turtles were great, for those who will say "you probably never watched the shows" or "you are probably basing your opinion off the past live action movies" I watched the 2003 and 2012 tmnt shows as a kid and I have to admit while it was one of my favorite shows at the time these versions of the turtles were just as fun and brought back my nostalgia for the series. despite the movie making me nostalgic maybe it just didn't have the same effect on other people and I'm not judging you guys for not liking the movie.
also I don't want to seem like an ass but the designs of the characters were obviously made to reflect a drawling made by a teen so there will be plenty imperfections and that's just how it is with teens, that for me just made me love the movie even more

Tbh this was a L movie and an L version of the whole TMNT world.. but Ice Cube as Superfly had my laughing so hard😂.. him and the brawl scene when the Turtles helped April get her bike. I forgot who was stabbed but that was hilarious too. Idk the jokes were there.. but this movie was just not good in a Turtles stand point. I’ll take 07 TMNT and The Netflix film over this one any day. You did a great review though, hope to see more movie reviews from you in the future.

Claims this movie is a bad movie for TMNT fans but calls Mondo Gecko (a long time TMNT character) "this fucking Gecko thing". Look I'm not crazy about the changes to the origins of Splinter and the Turtles either, but this movie definitely does the best job capturing the Turtles as teenage brothers. It also has the best fight scene in any of the Ninja Turtles movies which you left out in this video. The fight where they go and take out the 4 different gangs but all spliced together into one scene is an amazing fight scene! Hopefully with the sequel they can retcon their origin somehow to tie the Turtles and Splinters past together with Shredder because that's the best part of their rivalry.
i really liked this movie, i feel like it’ll soon become one of my favorite comfort movies. i feel ur critiques are valid although everything u don’t like will slowly start to be refined in the future iterations. as they grow they’ll prolly view humans and other creatures more accurate, once they get closer to adulthood they’ll grow into their personalities and hone in their ninja-ness

If you look at it as the tmnt for this newer generation you’d like it but yeah you gotta remember they are ninjas. Ninjas are supposed to have that feeing like they’re dangerous. You don’t get that from this specific group. Even in rise of the tmnt they were goofy but they kicked but even in the end with Leo basically sacrificing hisself for a eternity of beating that was deep but in this movie it just watered down references with meh action

I like their relation with Splinter and them having the same dream is cute but none of their jokes made me laugh. April was not interresting at all! Her story wasn't that sad. She got bullied in the past, it's bad but not tragic. She didn't do much in the movie, wasn't brave or clumsy or charming. If she was like the April in TMNT 2007, i would find her likable and cool. This April was loyal, courageous and kind. Here, she was really boring 😐

The only things in the film I disliked were Splinters origin, Baxter Stickman dying at the start, and how none of the mutants had personality aside from Superfly and Mondo. The Kaang Plot could've been Integrated better and Mickey also didn't feel like Mikey tbh Overall though I thought the movie was legitimately really good.

Nah this is an L take. The new tmnt is a fresh story in a fresh new world different than the old 90’s culture world the turtles usually live in. The turtles in this new movie are a great representation of the modern day teenagers they aren’t suppose to be representing stereotypical teenagers and teens from times like the 90’s. Throughout the the video it just seemed like you didn’t even have hope for the movie in the first place since you made little biased nick picks like Mondo gecko, a character known and shown the to be a skateboarder multiple times, riding the skateboard and getting screen time. This movie wasn’t souly based on the turtles and instead focused on the turtles AND the other mutants so it’s normal for another character to be actual doing stuff. I think you should rewatch the movie with an open mind and fresh mind so you can see the vision of the new tmnt rather than the old repeated tmnt stories.

So the other person's point of it being for gen z kinda falls flat considering how much of gen z actually doesn't like it
Also you assumed the movie wasn’t pointed towards tmnt fans which i think it’s true this movie is meant to reach out to a new audience to get a new wave of tmnt fans that can relate to the turtles acting like the modern teenagers instead of the old stereotypical teenagers that rode skateboards all the time, said phrases like radical, and are always upbeat. At the end of the day you problem just aren’t the target audience, your tmnt era movie/show has possibly ended if the turtles become more like the mutant mayhem ones.
Hey carto, maybe people have other opinions is okay instead of "you should watch it with an open mind" because I'm sure HorChills did watch it with an open mind. People can have differing opinions, ya know

Ya know I got introduced to ya channel from the 2007 movie but honestly the new movie it tried to be new and different because first things first they are younger and the art style is different so if you walk in and not expect sumth different then yeah ofc your not gonna like it

The only good Tmnt content is the 2003 series, 2007 movie, 2012 series and the comics.
The 2013 series is so good. That's the one I grew up with. Imo the season where they are in the woods and all the villains are horror references was my favorite
