Slight correction, Your Keyblade can be stolen from you, it was never addressed again, but if someone else’s Heart is stronger than yours then they can take your keyblade, the proof is that in KH1 The Kingdom Key wasn’t originally Sora’s it was supposed to go to Riku, but Riku being tempted and scared by darkness,and jealous of Sora, his heart wavered and in the moment Soras heart was stronger and The Keyblade chose him
Also Leon was able to take the Keyblade from Sora after defeating him, and Xigbar was swiping peoples Keyblades like Candy

Well to be fair, the first reason was because the Keyblade was originally Riku’s to begin with, so him getting it back is natural. It just eventually stuck with Sora due to him just having the stronger heart. Riku needed to prove himself worthy of a Keyblade again through CoM and 385/2, which proved with the Keyblade he had up until 3.
Also, Leon didnt “take” the Keyblade from Sora either, but it simply didnt disappear once Sora was KO’d. So he kept it from him while he was unconscious to avoid heartless from following them to the hotel room they were in. It’s proved, because once he grabbed it later when Sora was awake, it spawned right back in Sora’s hand.
This is also proved by Jack Sparrow in KH2 when Sora WILLINGLY gave him his Keyblade.
Aside from Yozora’s fight in REmind, No one has ever simply “stole” it from him aside from Riku (reason being that it was Riku’s to begin with.) It’s a lot more complicated than that.
As for Xigbar that depends mostly because i forgot- but for the most part, no ones Keyblade has ever been permanently taken from them, aside from Riku just getting HIS Keyblade back and losing it again.

Leon didn't really take the Keyblade. Notice that when Sora regains consciousness the Keyblade rejects him and goes back to Sora. And Xigbar never stole the Keyblade from anyone.

To add on from the above comments. Keyblades are sentient. They choose their master's. But really they're weapons born from an individual's heart. I think. It has been a while for review.
Anyways, Kingdom Key (Light) is special as it's its own entity I think. Basically it can choose its own master as it wasn't born from anyone's heart specifically. So it choosing Sora over Riku in the end is because it chose to give Sora its loyalty. Whereas Riku obtained his own heart Keyblade (during kh2). Thus not needing Kingdom Key anymore as he already has his own weapon anyway during Kh1-Chain of Memories.

@@Brandonious15987 i mean, riku was supposed to gain a keyblade later on, but due to him wanting to go to the evil side he kinda lost that chance. So it just went over to sora. Then riku took it back. Then sora took it back.
So yea, I guess they did pretty much steal it from each other

If you don’t need maintenance for the keyblade then why is the keyblade in missing link rusty?

Because that keyblade lost its owner, therefore it lost purpose, which I guess makes it loose it's power and become a rusty old relic like other swords. The straight in missing link belonged to player from union cross, and it's been good over a century since player died and lost that keyblade. The player character in missing link is the reincarnation of the player from union cross, hence why that keyblade belongs to him now.

@@Salikino the reason why it broke was because it was an evolution of the soul eater. It wasn't rikus true keyblade. Because the keyblade itself, wasn't a keyblade at the start, however, rikus brave heart is his true keyblade because of the fact that it comes straight from his heart. Not like soul eater. This can be further exemplified by the keychain. The keychain is the same as the kingdom key and its variations like the console key blades and the keyblade king mickey uses in kh3. What I'm saying is that the keychain is the same as the keychain attached to the keyblade that was originally supposed to be rikus keyblade. Sora's kingdom key.

If your heart or will is weakened it won’t be as powerful or effective
