This tutorial was AMAZING!! I saw this thinking I would do this later as I am a self-taught beginner. But thanks to your careful and wonderful teaching skills I am confident that I can do this! I'm so excited and grateful, thank you sooooo much! Oh, and I loved that you put the pattern on the screen because it helps me learn how to read the pattern as well ❤
Hi Fiber Spider. I'm so happy you haven't forgotten your knitters amongst us! And regardless of what one commentor said, this is anything but a bore! The pattern does remind me very much of your mom's favorite, the feather and fan stitch. After finishing the batch of KNITTED preemie hats I am working on, I will be following this pattern. Thank you so much for your ever-patient and clear tutorial.
Thank you so much for the time stamps. I'm on a limited data plan and can't afford to watch every second. I try to learn a new stitch every few days and you're my "go to" guy.
Thank you. Such a simple little stitch pattern. I am making a green scarf with this and I wanted to make sure and say thank you for this example. Very pretty. Absolutely a wonderful teacher.
A knit stitch! Thank you! With your help I learned to knit this year! I’m addicted! (I actually had to take a break cuz I hurt my hand from “over” knitting) I am half way through a sweater for my husband! Because of how you instruct and thoroughly explain things. Thank you so much! Never change This stitch is absolutely beautiful and I’ve never seen it before!!!
Spidey...i know it's more editing work for you but I love that you put the written pattern on the screen. It helps with the learning of reading knit patterns. Also on later rows pausing the tutorial and just reading the pattern helps😀
If you want a nice edge up the sides. Especially nice for scarves etc do this ‘Slip the first stitch of every row as if to Purl’ It will make a nice even chain up the sides of the work.
Thank you for sharing and I will give this a try when I find my needing needles I've been trained to clean up my place and reorganizing things. I talked to a guy that wants to learn crocheted meeting and I gave him your fiber spider you too and I hope he checks you out and you are very good explaining anime teacher.
I see you're branching out with knitting. Knitting is where My confidence is, however, with all the wonderful videos on crocheting that you and others do I tend to crochet more. I'm just finishing the tote bag you did the tutorial on. Thank you so much.
Hi spider how lovely and refreshing to have a knitting tutorial I used to love knitting so much until I got hooked on crochet and it will make a nice change to get my needles out again and do such a gorgeous stitch , thank you so much 😊Amanda xx
Quick suggestion for anyone using double point needles in lieu of regular short needles, if you place a needle "stopper" on 1 end of each needle, you'll always know immediately which is the working end. Believe when I say it's easy enough to make a mistake, especially when you're more tired than you realized when you picked up your needles, and you're joining a new ball of yarn. I've been there, done that on a rather special scarf I was knitting.
Hi FiberSpider, You threw a spanner in the works! I guess I'll have to dust my knitting needles off now. LOL I can't even get caught up with my crochet. You definitely keep me inspired that's for sure and I supply too much caffeine. Thanks for sharing this with us. Blessings to you and yours. Kathy B. (Fairylady0227) 💜
Well explained and illustrated. Thanks for sharing🌹 but I prefer that you have written pattern below, please ~ Thanks again🌸🌼🌹 Merry Christmas 2020🎄🎄🎄 I'll be back again if I'm ready to do my next project ...
Hello! I know how to knit in general, but I have always been intimated with lace knitting, so I never attempted it. Recently I saw a gorgeous charcoal silk lace scarf, and suddenly I want to learn. The stitch for the scarf is Ostrich Plume lace. By any chance do you have a video demo for that pattern? ( I love your method of teaching.) I also wanted to ask...as a rule, does lace knitting tend to create wavy borders at the beginning and end? I like the waves, by the way...much more interesting than a level border.
Hello! I have done regular knitting...have never tried lace knitting. I found it intimidating. Then I saw a pattern for a gorgeous knitted silk scarf, and suddenly I want to learn. I have noted on several different lace patterns (including yours) that the border tends to get wavy, which I like. So I am assuming that that is normal for most lace stitches?
Very cool! I would suggest following the needle size suggested for the weight of the yarn to start with. Although depending on how tightly or loosely you stitch you may need to alter the size accordingly. Worsted weight yarn typically calls for size 8 needles, I use 10's most of the time because I have a death grip, lol.
Hello from Sweden But I am from America I miss home 🏡 and love your work you great at knitting and crochet ing oh well I hop you can help me be better I am extremely sick my be you can teach me knit or crochet seater when I get to the sleeve part or collar I fall part please if you may help me thank you you can always well com to Europe (Malmo 🇸🇪) I ma married and sixty years old so just love to knit and crochet that’s all good knitting 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸love home and miss home
Ok. 9 x 4 is 36. 9+1 = 10. 10 x 4= 40. You decided this b/c u wanted 4 panels. 36 leaves 4 additional spaces in between. Adding to 40. That's how it works. You just misspoke. Thanks for the fyi. Have a good day.
Knitting ....ugh what a bore , do you like it ,..,seems like you can do almost all the same things crocheting ?? What do you think ,? @ it's much funner, to me ,,,,,thanks although

Marion Brady He reads as well. I've used his videos to help me fall asleep just because of his voice.

‘Slip the first stitch of every row as if to Purl’
It will make a nice even chain up the sides of the work.

Merci 🧶
We love you too.
Do you think you can teach us how to crochet or knit a lady vest? Thanks
Hi. If I'd like to knit all around with a circular needle (e.g. a blouse), do I still cast on multiples of 9+4? Thanks
You have inspired me to learn to knit. What size needles should I start out using?
