I can’t read charts, I’m horrible at it!!! Incredible amount of details this piece is unbelievable!!! I would be very proud of it too👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Remarkable work❣️❣️❣️
This is so fabulous Barbara. I love it but it is taking me to my end goal of knitting fabrics that we African women can wear in cold climates where we find ourselves and yet we can wear these knitted warmer products too fancy African parties that we often have to attend in colder countries. This fabric, this pattern would be so fabulous for any of our long African gowns that we wear. We are so into lace.
Hi, BarBara! This is Conny writing . This heavenlty scarf is made most gorgeously in my entire life! That helps people to have perhaps the only special in their life! Look at me just for a little moment: l've got 16 chronical deseases and because two of them are flattering hands and lots of pain when moving any part of my body [in spite of my daily high morphium every move l make since over 4 years ] it needs more than about 8 times as long as you need to finish my patterns but you show me that it'll be so gorgeous and that it's worth to go through. After l'll have finished my little own designed scarf l'll give it a big, big try, come rain or shine! Short time ago l bought THAT wool to make it real for me!!! Thank you so much! Be blessed!
Wow! Those shawls are Amazingly Beautiful!!! Love both of the colors. Thanks for sharing! Not sure if I'm ready to tackle a project like that yet. But I'm hoping I will sometime.
It's absolutely gorgeous, I'm in love with it. I too have trouble reading charts but I find tutorials help a lot once its explained. I've been crocheting again for the last 6 years after a break from knitting of around 20 years, I still try and knit when I can. Any help would be appreciated. YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF THIS WORK! I've never seen anything like it before and now I want to try it. I've subscribed now too! Love intelligent women.
Thank you! I do try and help when people run into issues, and both the Facebook Group and my Ravelry group are full of wonderful knitters that pitch in and help! Come visit!
This really is one of the most stunning pieces you’ve created. It’s also one I would never attempt, because I wouldn’t do it justice. I’m not that good a knitter, and I’m afraid after a mistake or two I would give up in frustration, or even worse, keep going but regretting it, and I could never do that to a work of art like this. You definitely should be proud of this one.
I have loved that pattern since it came out. But my concentration is pretty poor these days. But one day I’ll get one knit! The pattern intrigues me so much! I’m happy to hear it’s not to difficult. Lace holds no fear for me, it’s keeping the slips and Knits straight, while constantly being interrupted, and dealing with other stuff, makes a lot of pattern choices a save for later.
Hola Barbara.
Hi Barbra have you ever knitted with velvet yarn & yes it’s not a natural fibre but I bought it as it is sooo soft. I would love to have your awesome ideas either a throw or baby blanket or wrap, scarf & yes I love rectangular so I have tried a little bit of plain & stocking net & looks rather plain I tried some crochet but wasn’t happy with crochet as it just looked messy 🙏🙏🙏 would love to see how you would tackle it as I love most of your ideas some are beyond me & I’m glad you design for those of us in training 💖💖💖💖
I don't think I've ever seen velvet yarn! That is super interesting. If it is anything like chenille yarn, it is a challenge. Could you tell me the name of the yarn so I have a better idea what you are talking about?
This looks exciting. Going to try to figure out how to transition the scales (or as I see, horse shoes) for a top down yoke sweater I'm planning on making for daughter
So gorgeous! My inner vision is churning with all the color combo possibilities. Looking forward to it's arrival on LoveCrafts. I'll take it with the chart, but I'm one who does better with written instructions. Would appreciate a transcription if possible.
So fun to see in it two different color ways. But I was sold as soon as I saw the blue one in the newsletter. Now I just have to sell my hubby on buying two patterns :) Cannot miss out on the Bulky-A-Long.
Wow. I am not sure my lace knitting is up to this yet. But I have bought the pattern and will get to it when I have done a bit more lace work. It is stunning.
I am with Carla. Except, I can read charts but I get lost and not all charts read to same. So I prefer written and use the chart as a back up. Thanks very much for another lovely design.

Well, I try my best not to actually track how long it takes me because I don't know that I would ever start LOL. But the first one has well over a hundred hours of work in it.

Hello, do your hands ever get tired from knitting so much that you have to take breaks? I have too, so I was wondering if you've ever experienced that before. I can only knit about 2hrs daily and with breaks sometimes. After a while my wrists and fingers start to hurt and im young, so im not sure why this is. Im 40ish and have knit a lot in my days, I used to be able to knit like 8hrs or more, then as time went by less and less. Anyway, I was wondering if you can shed a little light on your experience with this. You knit so much, that it would be impossible to imagine your hands never get tired or sore. Thank you.
My hands do get tired and sore and I don't knit as much as you might think lol. I find that I have to take hand stretching breaks frequently when knitting for extended periods. If you stop briefly every 30 or 45 minutes you can do a series of hand exercises that help. I also find that the more consistently I knit that I can build up endurance. Like when I was working on my books I would be knitting 5 - 8 hours a day several times a week. But if I tried to sit down and knit for 6 hours right now my hands would rebel.
@@WatchBarbaraKnit hello, sorry I didn't reply sooner. YES, definitely hands get tired, im experiencing one of those moments right now. I have two more rows to go on a shawl im knitting and then im done completing this project and then THATS it, im putting away my knitting for the next 2 week to give my hands a break. I'll be devoting time to some painting and other projects. But knitting will have to wait. Thank you so much for sharing that with me. I often wonder other peoples experiences and for having been a knitter for 15 yrs, I have absolutely no knitting friends or anyone I can connect with on knitting except online. Wishing you the best. On another note.... one I've been tempted to write since the third video I watched, I'm pretty sure you have a reason for the long promo at the beginning of *each* video, but I think I've hit my line in the sand of the number of times I am willing to sit through it or to even try to skip it to find the beginning of the video. Maybe you could add it to the end of each one, or even better, add it as a separate introduction video for your channel? Like I said, I think you're pretty awesome and won't be walking off in a huff or anything (lol). I just hit a wall. Tnx.
Thank you for your kind words. And I hear what you are saying. I do have a reason for the intro, people are constantly finding me on TH-cam and you can never know what video will be the first video to watch. That said, I acknowledge that it has expanded a bit in recent months. I will think on how I can trim it down without losing the information I want to convey. And adding it to the end won't really work for my purposes because, based on analytics, the majority of viewers do not watch until the end.
@@WatchBarbaraKnit Sorry it took me so long to get back to this-- I appreciate your explanation and understand the dilemma. That's excellent to hear - because I was worried I wasn't making any sense at all! As with most things in knitting, once you understand it isn't really hard per se, but it does require close attention to detail.
I think you show sell a video of how to make this with the pattern not just graft. That is why I did not buy.
I am uncertain exactly what you mean, but this piece is not possible to produce without the graft. It is the only way to get the pattern to run in two opposite directions.
Gorgeous!
Thank you!
