I know this video is older but thank you so much for making it so clear, short, and showing knitting at the end. I'm a crocheter who wants to knit a lap blanket for Christmas and this was perfect

THANK YOU! I am 74Hundred years old, knitting since age 5-6. Due to "life" I haven't knitted for about 10 years. Today, I couldn't remember how to do cast on! Something we didn't have access to "back in the day" YOU TUBE would provide the answer. Well, I was surprised that I really had to LOOK! You mentioned the 1st time you did this, you put the loop made on the needle incorrectly. WELL, that is the way I was instructed to do in the video I just left, and then found you! I follow you a lot on Fiber Spider and your crochet. You, dear one, are a blessing! So, on a whim (and a prayer) I did Fiber Spider search. VIOLA!!! THANK YOU!!!

Thank you for this! I learnt to knit as a child and haven't knit anything in about 30 years.... maybe?.... So, I just couldn't recall that little necessary twist in the cast on! So, it was, '"Ahah! That's what I'm forgetting!" Thank you! :)

this is a great technique!! after putting the new mask back on to the first pin, your 2 needle is actually in the right place to keep on going, pulling op a new loop, so there is no need to “stop” in between casting them.
it feels so effective to do,
    thanks for sharing 👍

Thank you for calling attention to the need to go underneath the loop before putting it onto the left needle. That is the crucial step that I always forget about whenever it's been awhile since I've done the knitted cast-on. It's also helpful that you "anchor" the loop with the index finger of your right hand before you go underneath the loop and pull it through.

You made it very simple to learn and now I won't have to have a 2 foot tail hanging around due to over estimating the yarn needed for long tail caston. Many, many thanks.😊

I was looking for an easier method to cast on stitches, particularly for sweaters which involve lot of them.

I subscribed BECAUSE..... of this video! I learned a simple way to cast on by just scooping up loose working yarn onto a needle but even tho it was easy casting on, the following results were not great. But now, it's still easy but it's easy to work too. I only started with yarn a couple of weeks ago. Started with finger knitting, looming, but now I'm knitting and crocheting. So thank you!!!!
