  • Here is my 1982 Kawasaki KZ 1100 A2 ,she is in mint condition with its own tool kit and workshop manual to boot, its almost 100% original apart from the pin stripes are missing off the paintwork, one of the true muscle bikes of its time, a rare collectors motorcycle bar none.
Sunday afternoon gentle all-day rides are possible with this motorcycle but truth be known, you still like to give it some welly, don't you? Just point this KZ1100's front tyre in the general direction you want to travel in and give the throttle a tweak. Seconds later, your no longer in the vicinity, because this motorcycle doesn't just accelerate, it disappears, pumping out a smooth shaft-driven 102 horsepower through a 16- inch rear tyre.
This bomb proof 1100 engine transforms a goods train into a bullet train whenever you want, an 1100 engine that answers your call no matter what gear you're in, you can lug this motor around town like a Harley and still have the instant punch at hand to accelerate up to and over 100-mph.
Once the speedo climbs above 80 mph the bike remains fairly stable but if you hit a bump at the wrong angle or knobble at the entrance to a corner, the KZ will start to wobble, increasing the inflation pressure of the rear tyre and rear suspension will minimize its antics, but this is not a crisp handling motorcycle at high speed as I have found out.
This handling flaw however, only points out that this is a super big heavy touring bike-not a superbike. The message, speed is definitely available if a adrenaline fix is needed, but beware?

I think I might have been one of the previous owners of this very bike, I got it sprayed in the red and it had a short four into one exhaust at the time. I sold it on with an original Kawasaki owners workshop manual. The number plate had three numbers in it all the same! If it is my old bike boy do I regret selling it.

She's in amazing condition. I have one exactly the same dismantled in my garage at the moment that I'm restoring. Did you buy it like this or have your restored it yourself? I'm very interested to know where you got those exhausts from, they're awesome.
