  • I took my classic Kawasaki Kz1100 out for a ride on a nice January day. I thought it would be a good time to share my experience owning a Kz . I have owned this one for around one year. I would highly recommend buying one of these bikes !They are very affordable fun and beautiful !
Not to mention the torque is unreal !
    Stay safe & Have fun.
Please Share your experience with these bikes, I would love to hear about it!

simplicity and style, like rock music in the 70's, these bikes in the 80's are the foundation of unfortunately, our current lost world of motorcycles full of plastic and electronics. Oh, for the early years of motorcycles

It's funny, I was just reading a Reddit page on an old KZ and a popular sentiment was "When will people accept that new technology and engineering is the best and to stop riding these old dinosaurs" I couldn't have disagreed more with that!

I have a 1982 this bike is absolutely perfect for me, I love cruisers and rockets but only have room for one bike so I went with this! Very comfy, very quick, and very fun. If you want a cruiser that can keep up with some 600cc rockets without breaking the bank this bike is perfect

I had an 83 KZ1100 LTD as one of my first bikes. Despite all the power it was very very manageable. Perfect blend of horsepower and torque in the right quantities.

    Before I bought my 83 KZ1100, I had a KZ900, forgot the year.
On the KZ1100 I replaced the exhaust with a Kerker 4 into 1, K&N airfilters, rejetted the carbs and more. driveshaft worked fine while keeping the bike clean. I never dragged from a dead stop, too much stress, wanted the bike to last, with the proper tires and correct air in the shocks, DOT 5 brake fluid and other touches hear and there it made the bike into a beast.
    Too many changes to list.

No man. No ones gonna rip you.
That is one beautiful bike. I don’t think anyone looking at this will think otherwise. Retro machines have such a raw look about them. I love em.
I have a very very clean Honda CBR100F, I also have 2 1980’s Suzuki 650 katanas. One is 1981 and the other 1983. I’m looking for more bikes, and you’ve got my attention with this beauty. I also have a Suzuki GSX1400. Thanks for sharing your video, I agree 100% with your comments.

Nice. This, the GPZ 1100, the CB1100F, and the Suzuki Katana 1100 were dream bikes for me in the 80's and I still want them

I had one back in the day. It was fast but only marked 85. It was featured in cycle world as running 10 second quarters back then. I loved it. You're spot on bro. Thanks for the video!

I just bought a 1982 kz1100a as a second bike to drive during the summer because my crotch rocket doesnt like the extreme Arizona heat. I really enjoy this bike its a gem of a bike.

Very nice! I have an 83 KZ1100 and an 83 Spectre. They are all stock except exhaust. I almost sold them over this winter, thank God I came to my senses. Both are plated, insured and run great! I have some vids on my youtube of the KZ, but none of the Spectre. The Spectre is definately faster than the KZ, both are so nice to ride.

I picked up a "garage find" 81 XS11 with 17,000 miles for $270. Hadn't run in years! After rebuilding or replacing everything that deteriorates, jetting, fixing and massaging the original exhaust it's returned to its original glory! I dropped the front end enough for clipons and retrofitted a matching black quarter fairing for added highway aero. It drives like a 1st gen yamaha 4 cyl., clunky; imprecise, but the overall retro muscle bike character is all there! 💓

I've had a number of the old KZ's including two 1100's. And I've had new bikes too. In my opinion nothing compares to the KZ's. My last 1100 had a 1175 kit and 36mm carbs I adapted off of my 98 bandit. Fast and fun.

OG KZ muscle bike. Dont sell it. Myself i have the KZ1000P Police bike over here in Europe. Everyone looks at it and asks questions. Love it. Rides like a cadillac. And yeah the torque is awesome.

I am Australian . I used to own , basically , that exact bike . That particular colour . Yes , they are VERY Fast . And Stable . Air Suspension was quite good .
Heavy as though . Getting pulled up from speed is a bit of a " Negotiation " . The Brakes WERE good for the day , nonetheless .

I have an 83 KZ1100 all stock except Delkivic stainless 4 into 1, it is fitted with the Vetter Windjammer fairing and hard bags. It runs great and looks good. I also have an 83 Spectre 1110 that is just fast as f__K. Some vids of my KZ on the youtube under tthunderdan. I love your red 82!

Great video, very well done. Your bike looks good! Yes these bikes can be had for cheap sometimes, more and more less often though. I just recently picked up the same bike with 85K miles on it, runs amazing well! Like how you said this is a man’s bike, no electronic safety over rides to be found. But don’t compare it to a Harley, can’t compare apples to oranges. Both are great in different ways. The KZ is the last of the traditional street bike before the GPZ’s and Ninjas. Modern bikes are a dime a dozen. Buy more of these, and make more videos!

I just bought an all original Kz100 shaft with only 21k original miles for $1500. I'm in heaven. I had rebuilt the carbs, repaired the starter clutch, and a few small things for a friend of mine. He decided he didn't really ride it that much as he owned some Harleys

Only got to one thing to say; It ain’t no Z1.
A 73-75’ Zed, now that’s a cool classic. From 76’ on they just got worse and uglier year by year.
