I think the mace of Molag Bal, is supposed to be like that on purpose. It's not meant to be the deadliest, most efficient weapon. Rather, it's meant to cause as much pain as possible. That's just the kind of guy Bal is.
And also ofc it’s to make you fully understand who is causing said pain, he wants you to have plenty of time to fully understand that molag bal has domination over you and your suffering
@@glossyplane542 and on top of that, the only reason it does the same damage as a daedric mace, is simply because men mer and beast on average, are so weak compared to... well... the average daedra. I've kind of always thought it weird that the dragon bone mace looked like that when you have the absolutely funny yet brutal design of the warhammer, using a hip bone as the head is funny and also maybe an unintentional reference to early human weapons. thinking about it now maybe using some smaller bones from different areas like the wings. Maybe use the dragon wing equivalent to the humerus, or upper arm bone, as the head of the mace.
@urielgarcia7958 It's one of the best looking weapon in the game. Yes, it's large, but it reminds me of lord of the ring sarons mace looked ridiculous big but he was massive in size but still. 1.Molag mace 2. Glass 3. Dragon 4. Ebony 5. Elven The rest are so ugly, I'd never use them in the game....
@@cassgaming2383I LOVE Believable weapons, but I always thought that the Mace of Molag Bal was overly stripped down. It is an unwieldy design in vanilla, sure, and I prefer the modded version overall. But, with it being a Daedric Artifact… I can suspend my disbelief a lot more than the basic armory, and I think it lost a bit of charm.
The mace of molag bal reminds me of a gothic version of the truncheon of submission and I love it, it’s arguably one of the most iconic Skyrim weapons. Also the orcish mace looks like an artichoke

I like the mace of molag bal, mostly because it's sooo extra that it can hurt someone no matter how you hit them with it. You could chuck it at someone and chances are, it'd really hurt them because it has so many pointy bits
I'd love to see a war axe one next. I think they have some of the most underrated designs in the game. Ebony and Daedric axes, both war and battle, are so darn cool.
I named my stalhrim mace “The Ministry of Truth” after the big-ass meteor Vivec (the character) suspended above Vivec (the city) in Morrowind - both because of the resemblance, and because it’s similarly terrifying to see brought down on someone’s head ☠️
You should review weapons from older Elderscrolls games like Morrowind and Oblivion. Find out which game has the best designed weapons, whether it’s how realistic or fantastical it is or how well it mixes the two.
Glass in skyrim is actually obsidian just a different color. Its pretty common to do that in fantasy games. In german for example the glass armor is named "Vulkanglas Rüstung" which means volcano glass. So its not as unrealistically tough as people think.
I like the way the Mace of Molag Ball looks primarily because i almost never have to see the handle (I play first person exclusively). Looking at the whole thing I can see how it DOES look a bit cartoonish & silly with how big it gets very quickly, but I only ever see the horns & spikes of the top, which I think look sick as fuck. & The lore also carries it to one of my favorite weapons in game. I also LOVE the way npcs react. I love walking around Riften and hearing "That mace... get it away from me. GET IT AWAY."
So glad the Ebony Mace won this one, because good lord. Whenever my ludicrously overpowered Dragonborn finally rolls up to Dawnstar after snatching the Razor and running to clear up their nightmare problem, Erandur always lugs this beautiful deathbringer into Vaermina's old haunt, cracking the skulls of old friends and foes alike as we free Dawnstar (or the Skull depending on if I'm getting Oblivion Walker) from the sins of his past.
I know I'm a bit late to this (only just found the Channel), but the Creation Club/Anniversary Edition gives a new type of Mace that I truly love: The Ebony Mace from the Ghosts of the Tribunal Creation/Quest. It's not as Fantasy as the Vanilla Ebony Mace, being an Ebony Ball with spikes coming out of it, and the handle itself is solid Ebony as well. It's gorgeous, and actually stronger than the Vanilla Ebony Mace (being on par with Dragonbone, but lighter).
When I was an angsty teen the mace of Molag Bal was my favorite. As I’ve grown up and replayed the game a million times I now totally agree with you. It’s ridiculous and edgy more so then needed. Just like I was as a teen
I belive its on prpose, its the weapon of the god of domination, so i belive its probably supposed to cause as much fear and pain as possible, not used in battle
To be honest, I actually love orcish mace, in fact, of all orcish weapons, it is my most favourite. Whenever I enchant one, I rename it to "Totem of Something" or "Something Totem" (my Shock enchantment made "Skyfire Totem" and my life-leech enchantment made "Wendigo Totem") due to that savage looks (and the fact my character is traditionally melee witch, so all maces are either Totems or Scepters)
Why I love the Stalhrim Mace It's just a frozen testicle on a stick, that's what makes it amazing to me. Imagine getting killed by a fresh from the freezer big ass Giant's Balls of all things
Curious, where would you put the Amber Mace, Ancient Nord Mace, Dark Mace, Ebony Mace (Tribunal), Golden Mace, Light Of Day, Mace Of The Crusader, Madness Mace, Nord Hero Mace, Scourge, and Sunder?
I used to think maces were blunt weapons before I played Skyrim. The Stalhrim mace is the only 100% blunt mace in the game, but looks like a bowling ball on a stick. The Dwarven mace is probably my favorite, though it looks like it has blades as well, just under the top section.
You forget rusty mace (you can get both rusty mace and mace of molag bal when molag tells you to smack logrolf, don't do anything just exit the house and if you buy the house in markarth and have a weapon plague then you can put rusty mace in the plague then go back and smack logrolf then you get the mace of molag bal go back to your house and take the rusty mace), but i never use mace anyway, the only mace i use is a redguard named mace windu with the star wars mod :3
I thought the ebony mace was the best one because it’s the only one with more than 4 blades as well as some small sharp hooks at the end of each blade that increases the chance of seriously wounding your enemies.
MoMB is only my favorite when playing as an evil characyer. It sets the mood. Othereise, your choices are mostly the same as mine (I actually like the orcish mace to be a bit higher). I get your logic though.

I knew the ebony mace would be number 1 But to be honest i wish the dragon mace would be more like the dragon hammer with more of a femur end to the mace or even parta of the dragons horns /spine horns. For the daedric mace i wished the enchantment or enchantmenta you place on it would hover within the top of the mace slowly seeping into it..(like how the spells in your inv look when you scroll through them. I with each weapon would have a unique way to show its magical enchantment instead of it having slightly glowing idk cracks
