  • this is the story and rebuild video of my KTM 525 Exc-Smr.
    more than 11 months of work.
    a lot of sacrifices.
    final result couldn't get any better.

    Just bought a 2005 525. Already has SM Pro wheels and an engine rebuild. I just need to make her prettier. New Plastics, new decal kit, new bolt kit, LED headlight etc. I cannot wait for this adventure!

    hello, why did you change the beringer aenoral rotor to braking rotor? nice project!

      the inner hub was out of its tollerance, got the braking 310 mm rotor, its working well

    Dope bike! But is missing smth. Check ebay ktm 530 exc front fender graphics for great ktm logos.

    Bellissima come è venuta fuori, io ho il suo successore, il 530, ma cambia poco alla fine, secondo me la line "500" è la migliore. Per caso sapresti dirmi dove hai comprato la mascherina con faro led?

      Ciaoo andreww, grazie! Anche secondo me la linea 500 ha il suo fascino rispetto alle sorelle minori.. La mascherina a led lho presa da Pierandrea cecconi, sentilo su IG magari gli è rimasta qualche maschera

    Nice! I have a 525 supermoto. Is this an easy engine to work? Costly?

      It may look complicated at be beginning, search online for the 525 service manual, follow step by step the manual and you'll see that it's a lot easier that you initially thought. The only thing is that ktm stopped producing some parts so be a bit creative with that! Good luck

      You can find it on eBay, aliexpress or original from ktm, sells at 250'ish branded

      Beringer 310mm. L'ho cambiato però. Ottimo disco per utilizzo pista. Per strada unpo meno.

      mine is an EXC with sm wheels and long transmission rate final drive, axial to radial brake caliper support, with 4P radial beringer brake caliper..
      the REAL SMR models Had radial fork leg and a totally different internal trasnmission Rate!

      @@Kuritonroxi The EXC with supermoto wheels, is a better bike or road use. the gearing is more suited for the road. I have one it will cruise at 80mph nicely, an smr is not really any use on the road, although they are good fun.
