    MIT has the best teachers in the world. Every single time I have an issue with how my profs. teach there is a MIT professor on you-tube to help. Kudos to all the teacher that really care.

      He's holding the chalk against the direction he's drawing, which causes the friction of the chalk board to force the chalk to repeatedly get knocked off the board

    This was a Very Complex Physics Vectoring Question involving, Friction=4.3 Newtons,of,a Moving Velocity=86.6 K.m./hour moving Vehichle,Wind blowing =56 K.m./Hour against the Vechicle at 49 Degrees Angle.Gravity was on the Moon not Earth at an Acceleration= 1.6333333 Meters/Sec,of course the added ficticious Wind was added just to further,Complicate the Vectoring! Don't forget to Change K.m. to Meters 1st because your Unit Measure in Meters must be converted Compatible,before Quad-Vectoring!!!!

      it's really easy, just tilt the chalk at an angle in such a way that the border of the chalk is the only part of it touching the black board... with the border touching the board you push it to make the line and the chalk will skip.
      Something like this:
      \__
      if you push it to the right >>> the chalk skips
      you have to push with some force, you can't have a light hand, you really got to put some force in the tip that is touching the board.
      Alright, I hope that explained it

    @ffiinnrroodd You have to hold the chalk very lightly near the back of the piece, and have a flat edge pressed against the board. You need to supply just enough pressure that the piece of chalk bounces, but not so much that it draws a line. Try doing vertical lines and eventually you'll get the feel for how to do it. Also, I think it might be easier with thick sidewalk chalk than it is with blackboard chalk, so try that too.

    I ::guess:: it has something to do with friction between the chalk and blackboard. + the force pushed down relative to the angle he's holding the chalk.
    He holds the chalk in this angle / and pushes it
