Absolutely. The other one I similarly admire is Prof. Robert Sapolsky for Biology. Anyone for Chemistry and Math? Not to the same caliber as these guys, but I had a wonderful math teacher in school. I'm a retired electrical engineer and just seeing some of these video lectures now. He does a great job! Back in 1972, I was accepted into engineering at MIT, but went to Univ of Pittsburgh instead. After seeing these lectures, wondered if he would have been one of my physics teachers back then? Of course if you remember the big orange physics book by Halliday & Reznick, Halliday was my physics teacher at Pitt. What caught my attention on this last lecture, was his comment to a question at the end, where he stated his life was physics, but his love was art history. Interesting perspective. I found over the course of my career, no matter how much you enjoy what you do, how you made things better, and how much you contributed to the field, you discover some of your true passions. Was wondering if his comment was expressing that?
I use to think that physics doesn't apply to everyday life but guess what after this lecture I can feel [OR] see physics It's the feeling that never happened to me in my 2 years of physic learning THANK YOU SIR FOR THIS LECTURE❤️ THIS LECTURE IS REALLY USEFUL TO STUDY WORKING OF PENDULUM

Respect you from my bottom of the heart.
My high school physics teacher was just like him. Lots of demonstrations of the laws of physics. It is so inspirational to see physics working. Because of my physics teacher and professors like him, I am an engineer.
Sir Walter Lewin i have been in love with physics since a very long time and today for the very first time I saw a proper lecture of yours and i assure you that it was the best physics lecture I've ever seen i felt myself from the audience i saw everything I'm truely in love with your style of teaching everything was awesome and so was your teaching style you made concepts clear and you also use a very simple language you are a living genius we love you and atlast love from India sir we respect you a lot :)
It's my pleasure
Hobbyist landscape/nature photographer for the past decade and I'm very thankful for your explanation on light and atmosphere. Chasing light is a big part of the adventure, and being equipped with the knowledge of WHEN to chase light is something I better understand.
I WISH EVERY TEACHER OF PHYSICS IS LIKE HIM.
Any watching in 2024😂

Absolutely, especially since I'm currently studying electricity, waves, and magnetism right now!
This explains why a good teacher and a good teaching method will make you love a subject that you used to hate it. It's my first time seeing a Physics lecture, hoping that it's not being finished too early ! Lovely!
Apart from having enormous knowledge....he makes the lecture so simple, interesting & full of practical things....hats off to you sir!
I am class 10th student and i understood something but although I enjoyed a lot while I was watching this ... 💛💛 Huge respect sir from India
"Physics is my life, art history is my love."
Thank you, you make my love Physics.
TBH! From the day i started watching youtube videos....this is the best one i have watched!
45:48 And this part is really emotional! He is a legend!
Dr.Lewin
I‘m from China, watched your MIT open course about electronic magnetic occasionally, then i realised EM is not bored formula but vivid phenomenon.
Thank you for bring me a new eyes on science。
Wishing you good health

he's an icon.. a legend. I give my full respect to him.
19:24 THAT'S a skill only MASTERS possess
I wonder how he did this.
They call it parkinson
Or anyone who can HOW TO DRAW DOTTED LINES MIKE BOYD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mp Its fast forwarded. Your welcome
It is easy, I learned it in like a minute.
prof walter's brain has so much knowledge its shaking like hell
a stage of Parkinson's I am sure we know. I had a dentist that retired from same. He saw me 2 times where he had to anchor his hand on the edge of my mouth before powering the drill. I knew.
@@randalltrantham5082 he doesnt have parkinsons, he adressed it in a video in 2017, you can check it out on his channel
😂😂😂
I'm a physics graduating student ,and i really love this lecture❤My days are incomplete without your lectures
I figured out that he is a superior teacher when he did that dotting thing with chalk. 19:40
:)
How did he do that ?
@@unjeunearabe this technique is known to only maths and physics professors
@@unjeunearabe you have to angle the chalk a certain way, anyone can do it
@@cm221b Nope it's easy, i can do that.
Just prayed that he didn't sneeze while the ball was coming near.
Oh my God yes.
Saabaas 😁 😁
Underrated 🤣
😂😂😂😂👌

😂😂 can't stop laughing!
Best comment ever!!!
Sir I'm from Pakistan 🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰and I really find it helpful and now I know how time period doesn't depend on amplitude and mass Thank you so much sir You are legend
The way he teaches Physics is beautiful and awesome, I love his teaching, I wish I could teach like him one as I am also a teacher of physcis
Mr. Lewin thanks for all your videos. You really made me love physics. You showed me the beauty in physics
If this lecture was given in India people would have hugged him before going🤗
the way this guy teaches is incredible, every time i think I've got a question about something he answers it in his next sentence
I have always loved physics and now, after watching this lecture, I really love physics! I am going to watch every video Walter has ever released on TH-cam. I am a programmer so I will be modelling the things I learn in code. I can't wait to watch the next one, this was outstanding.
27:00 this is why i love this lecture and physics.
what a great professor.
One of the greatest teachers of all time .
Hello walter lewin sir
I am currently in ninth grade from india
I only understand a bit of your lectures but still i watch them completely because of your style of teaching because of you i am getting interest in physics
Lots of love from india
I'm watching this lecture again and again . 💓 For Physics and Respected Walter Lewin sir
Fastest hour I've seen in a long long while. What a masterful TEACHER.
Me after watching this video: "Yeah, I took physics at MIT."
I wonder how he does that.
MIT mean?????????
Only iit
Umashankar sing Massachusetts Institute of Technology
@@umashankarsing1132 mit is better than iit
i am from india and iam seeing a lecture of walter lewin i greatly love this because he clear concepts practically. he was best teacher
My physics master was just like this fella. Passionate about his subject and with an innate ability to both interest and fascinate his students. None of the entire class got less than a B. Most of us got A*
I'm a retired electrical engineer and just seeing some of these video lectures now.
Was wondering if his comment was expressing that?
wow sir, your comment needs more likes :)
16:38
Imagine coming to class on your first day and you see your prof doing this out of context.
Lmao😂😂😂
Copied comment lol
our physics teacher (also dutch) taught us this. It's actually quite simple ;)
"i came in like a wrecking ball"
normal prof
the world needs people like this that try to pass on their knowledge and studies with passion to the a newer generation.
16:37 Miley Cyrus would definitely appreciate this Physics class
wretching ball..... 😂😂😂
she got nothing in that empty af brain of hers
she got nothing in that empty af brain of hers
I’ve been recommended this again.
I’m not disappointed
57:21 LOL, look at that man in green t shirt. look at his reaction after the professor said "it's a very good question"
😂😂#proud feeling
I use to think that physics doesn't apply to everyday life but guess what after this lecture I can feel [OR] see physics
It's the feeling that never happened to me in my 2 years of physic learning
THANK YOU SIR FOR THIS LECTURE❤️
THIS LECTURE IS REALLY USEFUL TO STUDY WORKING OF PENDULUM
