Absolutely. The other one I similarly admire is Prof. Robert Sapolsky for Biology. Anyone for Chemistry and Math? Not to the same caliber as these guys, but I had a wonderful math teacher in school. We had textbooks and there was a proof of the Pythagoras Theorem in it. He showed us three separate proofs of this theorem, showing us that the same problem can be tackled by many very different approaches, and the convergence of the results is one of the beauties of mathematics.

I cried so many times, but I SOBBED seeing him take in his final lecture as they gave him a well deserved standing ovation 😭
My first crush was my sciences teacher in high school. I had him for 3/6 of the science classes I signed up for. I sat in the front of the class and got a 100% in all his courses. I fell in love with science and men with big brains because of him. I credit him for steering me to the love of my life, a brilliant Math and English nerd who treats me like a princess (compared to the “hot” guys I dated who treated me like crap). Teachers guide young minds far more than people realize, and my science teacher truly put me on all the right paths in life. Cherish the teachers who truly care as they are a thinning herd.

It's amazing to see a professor like Lewin who is so passionate about teaching. His enthusiasm is evident in every class, and you can see the student's engagement as a result. This type of dedication is rarely seen in college professors at my college. Unfortunately, most of them don't seem to care about their students or put any effort into preparing or delivering lectures. It's a shame that students have to suffer because of this apathy. I hope that Lewin's example will inspire more professors (teachers as well) to strive to reach his level of commitment to teaching.

I'm a retired electrical engineer and just seeing some of these video lectures now. He does a great job! Back in 1972, I was accepted into engineering at MIT, but went to Univ of Pittsburgh instead. After seeing these lectures, wondered if he would have been one of my physics teachers back then? Of course if you remember the big orange physics book by Halliday & Reznick, Halliday was my physics teacher at Pitt.
What caught my attention on this last lecture, was his comment to a question at the end, where he stated his life was physics, but his love was art history. Interesting perspective. I found over the course of my career, no matter how much you enjoy what you do, how you made things better, and how much you contributed to the field, you discover some of your true passions. Was wondering if his comment was expressing that?
