Dude.... when I found out what MT stood for (like two days ago hahah) I couldn't wait to tell somebody! My ego immediately jumped up and said," yeah baby yeahhhhh.."
Hi in Australia there is a MT07 HO (high output) it is the 690cc MT07 just not lams approved so you have to have your fully licence to be able to ride it
Yep, thank you! I included a little screenshot in my full article here: www.youmotorcycle.com/5-things-you-didnt-know-about-the-yamaha-fz-07-mt-07.html
Also the cafe racer version is out and has been for a while now, in Australia and Canada at least (fort9 made a video) it’s called an XSR700 and the MT09 variant obviously the XSR900. Ohh and one more thing... I’d say MT doesn’t stand for anything particularly, A safe bet would be someone in marketing just wanted some way to link a stand out characteristic of the bike lineup to the branding and thought M,T = Maximum Torque. Probably got a pat on the back for that one.
it has 68nm torque and 74hp with the eu5 regulations about the master of torque, its spot on :D I dont know how much more bike does power wheelies this easy, like she just playing around . (i mean in the 690-700 cc displacements) and for platform there is the R7 :D pretty same whitout the fairing for the sport set
I can't remember what exactly I said in this video, but I believe it's a 689cc, so... maybe putting it in the 650 class isn't too far off. Happy new year :)
If no one have commented it. Its called MT in Europe and Asia I believe, and FZ in America and Australia. For 2020 I think they are all called MT and not FZ anymore.
We are, but they aren't necessarily marketed as being part of the same family the way other bikes are (HD with the Sportster models, Yamaha with the Bolt family, etc.)
Hey, no problem! Bleeding the brakes. It means flushing the brakes (when you remove the old brake fluid and any air in the brake lines and put new brake fluid in with no air in the lines). In this video I show you how to do it on another motorcycle: th-cam.com/video/qdYtDj2-BKc/w-d-xo.html
Ah, thanks! Yeah, I replaced the break fluid and engine oil the day I got my MT (used one) so I probably wasn't used to it enough to notice the difference at that point.
the Fz-07 does NOT have 68 bhp .. it has 75 bhp .. you are talking about the restricted version , the MT/FZ is a newer bike then the FZ6 so there is also that :D .. not sure if the FZ6 has abs also .. wich one would i own ? .. the cheapest one .. hell if cheap enough .. both haha .. anyways then MT-07 seems more usefull .. since WHEN do you ever ride the bike at its max limit ? .. so the Mt must win on usefull power .. sidenote .. MT has 68 Torque at 9 k i believe it is . where the FZ6 "only" has 63 at 10 k
It has several. Throttle plate restrictor, throttle body restrictor and air filter restrictor as well as tuned accordingly through the ecu. Reason they're 655cc is because the maximum is 660cc for learners, as well as a specific power to weight ratio. We have the "normal" version here too but its sold as the high output model
3:05 you said MT07 is slower than FZ6 that’s not true. Does MT07 has less power, yes. Is it slower, no. th-cam.com/video/Bf_BNTa1HpE/w-d-xo.html Don’t forget that torque also matters.
Forget about a TH-cam video of two riders who's skillsets you don't know (maybe the fz6 rider is less experienced or has no race experience) and just look up the top speeds. The FZ6 top speed is faster than the the 07 top speed, therefore, the 07 is slower, and the FZ is faster. A lot? Not really. I can't remember for sure because this video was done a year or so ago, but the FZ6 is at least a few mph faster
And yet, that's what it does in fact stand for. Google it. There's a whole japanese anime about it. Weird stuff. Even weirder: They're coming out with an MT-03. Yep, 300cc of torque mastery. Strange times we're living in...
th-cam.com/video/W4mD1z0nbRI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=YamahaMotorGlobal global.yamaha-motor.com/showroom/mt/ They were really pushing this as part of the Master of Torque (vehicle) launch
Ok good. Unfortunately I can't block people who can't handle little things from watching my channel so I appreciate it when they block themselves. Thanks and ride safe!
The "cafe racer" one is the xsr, there is a tenere 700 now and there is a tracer version of the mt. So yes, it is being used as a platform
But is not branded as being part of a family the way Yamaha did with the Bolt, Harley with the Sportster, Ducati with the Monsters, etc. etc.
@@YouMotorcycle Fair point. I guess it's a "if you know you know" type of situation.
kinda lost credibility when he didn't know that...

😂😂😂 glad we can share this with the world hahaha
Very interesting! I definitely wanted to see what I could learn since I have an 07. Every fact was new to me. Loved the editing Adrian 🙌
Hey hey Mr Big Shot is in the house! Thanks Wyatt. Glad to see you doing so well man. Keep it up :)
Another cool thing about the mt07 is that it comes with a 180 rear tire so lots of tires to choose from
Love 180 rears. My V-Rod has a 180 rear. Nice balance between not too big and not too small.

just so you are aware, the AU/EU A2 version is not a 650cc. its has a throttle plate and ecu restriction but the motor is exactly the same
I can't remember what exactly I said in this video, but I believe it's a 689cc, so... maybe putting it in the 650 class isn't too far off. Happy new year :)
Good info, '20 MT-07 owner here, love it.
Was this recorded with a microphone stuffed in a potato?
Microphone stuffed inside a GoPro Hero 6 I think.
Nice bike, thanks for sharing!
Ride safe!
@YouMotorcycle MT stands for Monster torque. Also with the LAMS bikes they have that for the Euro market too knows as I think it was A2
global.yamaha-motor.com/showroom/mt/
I knew 4 of the things you mentioned. I have a 2015 model.
80% score, that's an A :)⭐
If no one have commented it. Its called MT in Europe and Asia I believe, and FZ in America and Australia. For 2020 I think they are all called MT and not FZ anymore.
Yeah it looks like the only FZ Yamaha is currently offering is a 250cc :\
Americas the only place they're still called fz everywhere else is mt including australia
Nice MT-07 :)
Thanks, it's a Master of Torque lol
@YouMotorcycle you guys still don’t have the XSR700( neo retro cafe racer version)?
We are, but they aren't necessarily marketed as being part of the same family the way other bikes are (HD with the Sportster models, Yamaha with the Bolt family, etc.)
xr700 is the same engine as the mt
I think you're right, but still branded as a separate family.
Yea
commenting 4 years late the cp2 does help make a boring bike slightly less boring✌🏻‼️🤣
Never too late. Welcome to the party 🥳
the cafe is the xsr700??
Yes but it's more part of the XSR family than part of a MT/FZ-07 family, you know what I mean?
Stands for MAXIMUM TORQUE
You did *what* to breaks to make them better? Bleed? (non-english speaker)

Master of Torque is correct
Thanks Stu. Any personal thoughts or feelings about that name? Does it seem a little... grandiose?
It actually stands for Maximum Torque
th-cam.com/video/W4mD1z0nbRI/w-d-xo.html
what does FZ stand for?
ffffffzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (it's the sound the old four cylinder FZs used to make haha) - just kidding, i have no idea
F zed
Only in America
It stands for Monster Torque
Tell that to the Japanese 😄
I love my mt07 funnest bike I've ever had
It is a lot of fun. Take a Ducati Monster out for a spin when you can. If you love the MT07 I think you'll really like a nice L-twin Monster.
What other bikes have you had? Just for comparison
Him or me?

You should look at the dyno charts for both motorcycles. It's not about peak torque or peak horsepower so much as it is about the power curve.
@@YouMotorcycle got ya
you may want to cut down on the caffeine...

It's actually just got a restrictor on it that we take off lol
Nice. Any video on how to do it?

Mt07 might be better off the line though, as you said, torque matters, but pure top end speed, the littler motor is faster.
If Yamaha thought so hard about the shock why are they so bad?
😂 you'll have to ask them but I suspect the bike was built to a price point so something has to give
Dave Moss tuning... If you really want to know about this bike. Master of torque? Then why make the MT 09?

They called it MT because they got tired of FZ.
