Explore the depths of this never-before-seen island as you experience the darkest journey of Batman's life. Written by Paul Dini and featuring the voice talents of Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy. Batman brings the captured Joker to the Arkham Psychiatric Hospital. Batman doesn't like the fact that the Joker gave up too easily, so he decides to accompany the psychopath to the hospital. Soon, the Joker manages to escape from the hands of the guards. The Joker prohibits police and superheroes from interfering in his affairs, as he mined all of Gotham, so Batman is served by a handful of guards led by James Gordon, Aaron Cash and the Oracle (Barbara Gordon). In the course of investigating the plans of the Joker, Batman learns that a certain Dr. Young has created a new mutagen based on Bane's "Venom" - "Titan", which makes a common man incredibly strong like Bane. This project was secretly funded by the Joker himself, who wants to create an invincible army of monsters. Batman enters Poison Ivy's lair and asks her to find a cure. She reports that Croc has it. Batman enters Croc's lair and finds a cure, while the Joker turns his henchmen into monsters. Batman manages to find and destroy the formula, defeat the Scarecrow, who wanted to poison the sewers of Gotham with a new hallucinogen; defeat Poison Ivy, who was under the influence of "Titan", Harley Quinn, Bane and Croc; solve a huge number of riddles and puzzles of the Riddler; create an antidote to the Titan; find the chronicles of the ghost of Amadeus Arkham and stop the rebellious prisoners. In the finale, the Joker transforms into a giant monster with the help of the Titan, but Batman manages to defeat him. Shortly thereafter, the arriving police take control of the situation in Arkham. In the post-credits scene, the only remaining Titan container is taken by one of three opponents: Killer Croc, Bane, or Scarecrow. Batman: Arkham Asylum gameplay can be roughly divided into three types: world exploration, beat 'em up, and stealth. In the first case, the hero moves through the territory of the hospital, solving puzzles encountered and making his way to the desired place using his gadgets. In the event of an open confrontation with patients, the game goes into beat 'em up mode, when the hero has to neutralize them by means of close combat with one or a group of opponents. There are several types of opponents that involve hand-to-hand combat with them. At the initial stages of the game, the hero encounters an unarmed opponent, later thugs begin to use pipe cuttings, a separate type of enemy uses knives and blocks Batman's normal attacks, another type is armed with a shocker and the hero takes damage when trying to direct a blow, the last type of opponent is a thug on which he was applied "Titan", he has the most powerful attacks that cannot be counterattacked. In addition, thugs are able to use elements of the environment in battle: throw boxes at the hero, pick up weapons left over from other criminals, and pick up machine guns from weapon cabinets. Most of these attacks are unblockable, and in the event of a successful hero attack, Batman only disarms his opponents, thus leaving the enemy a chance to reuse the weapon. The hero himself does not use the weapon that takes away from the thugs, but only throws it aside. Thus, as you progress through the plot, the beat 'em up-component of the gameplay becomes more complicated, since different types of opponents require a different approach (the need to use a cloak strike on opponents with knives, an attack from behind on armed with shockers, etc.). In some cases, when faced with a squad of armed thugs, the game acquires the specifics of stealth, when the player needs to neutralize the threat without allowing the enemy to notice his actions. The main limitation on the movement of the hero within the hospital is the need to use gadgets - various devices that allow Batman to break electronic locks, climb over pits and dangerous places, blow up walls and floors, etc. Moving through the story, the player gradually gets new devices that allow him to get to places that were previously inaccessible to him. Separate among the entire passage are the levels, where the main character enters the realm of illusions caused by the Scarecrow's toxin. The transition is not advertised in any way, you can see it by the external changes. #batman #arkham #arkhamasylum
