My pleasure! Have you set up an NMEA 2000 network yet? You can get all sorts of cool information from the engine - temp, oil pressure, digital tach (no more inaccurate needle), trim, etc.
Thanks for this video. How high rpm will this allow the motor to go? I would like to set it at cruise speed where I can take my hand off the throttle and know i'm not going to lose rpm's
Yes, I've had it out a few times, just haven't had time to film (or edit!), unfortunately. As for lower than idle speed, I never tried. Idle speed is too slow for musky trolling on my boat, so I speed up with it, not slow down.
Haven't had it out yet since installing this. Had it on my last boat and it was excellent, so I wanted to add it to this one. I'll do a followup once I get it on the water.
@@RealLifeFishingWI thanks for the update. I sometimes would just put my trolling motor in the opposite direction and that would slow me down to that speed.
Dealer cost is 2 to 3 times what they are available for online, and there is supposedly a one plug connector. Only issue for me is whether it will adjust idle speed if a mechanical throttle cable is involved.
You might get them online, but they are still from a Yamaha dealer. You don't just walk into WalMart and find these sitting on the shelf... In fact, I couldn't even find these listed on Amazon. Literally the ONLY place they were available was a Yamaha dealer.
Thank you so much for this video. My exact motor. I needed this.

Hello. Thank you for the video. Is it possible to split the cable and install two switches? Are these simple up and down switches? Many thanks
Do you have a video on how the switch works?

No. This is for trolling, not cruise control. If you lose rpm without holding the remote, you need to get that fixed.
Can they be used with a mechanical cable and lever type throttle at a mid-boat seat?
Umm, you mean the one that's already installed on your boat? I don't understand the question....
Were you ever able to test it out? With your experience, are you able to get RPMs less than your idle speed?

Have you tried it slower for us Walleye fishing ? Thanks
How did it improve your troll? I have a wx2000t with a F115 that goes 2.5-3 forward 1.5-2 in reverse. Thinking about adding this.

I've used it a LOT since making this video. On my boat, I can get down to about 2.0-2.3 forward. I don't backtroll.

Are these available for a 175 vmax?
No idea. I *think* they are only for 150 and smaller, but you can always ask your dealer (since that's where you'll have to get it from anyway).

Tell me how the VTS works. Yamaha literature leaves me with more questions. How low Rpm can it allow motor to get to?
Depends on the motor. My f70 got to 500, my vf115 gets to like 550 or 600 I think.
You're a terrible person in a terrible town with terrible people. I think I'll subscribe
Ummm.... Thank you? 😂😂
Not one freaking close up of where itplugs in to motor??? Several minutes of looking at your shoulder. Terrible.
There is only one place the plug fits. Thank you for your critique, I'll try to make my videos as nice as yours are. Thanks for watching!
