Mystic knight is my favorite on here it's so versatile on many situations in combat, also because a'lot of times I can't choose between warrior and mage, So mystic is the perfect click in my opinion, ohh and on a side note Dragon's Dogma is a beautiful gem this game rules..
Found out recently that if you have a 3 star or more rusted magick shield, and buff your sword, the sword will apply the shields debuff like poison/torpor
If you're a mystic knight on BBI and you encounter death use demons periapts and use stone forest 3 times on him it should kill him very quickly if you have a strong enough one handed weapon.

Great video I love the music as well and it answered most of my questions about ANGUISH only question I have is how does having a split weapon affect ANGUISH does it reduce its magic or does it lose the potential damage from strength by using it on a split weapon?
I am not sure what happens, but I think some of the magic vanishes. But only with cannon and sigil, when Anguish is used to create. If cannon is created and then Anguish is created, everything works as normal.

Although Mystic Knight doesn't really need to revolve around counters, I still feel lacking due to it. That's why I avoided this vocation for the longest time.
Cómo es que aún no ha salido una segunda parte de este juego? Es IMPRESIONANTE! Supongo que es por que en esta generación lo han subestimado. Espero que en la próxima podamos tener una nueva entrega de Dragons's Dogma. Saludos.

Playing MK feels like cooking food. You prepare ingredients, then you mix them, put them on fire and give the right amount of fire and time, and yeah, delicious food ready. Anything off? Your food would be spoiled and you'll be given taste of your own recipe.
I'm working as a Mystic Knight now, though somewhere i think I messed up the stats for it. Went mostly fighter for a portion of levels, then mage, then sorcerer, assassin, MA, and then warrior. Pretty sure my Magic Attack is not supposed to be where its at now.
So your not supposed to max out your Vocations and get all their skills? Just started playing the game a few days ago and am level 50 on hard mode(had to jump to hard mode after I failed 3 quests and got thrown in jail, one of those quests was a timed one). Edit:Started out as fighter, maxed out the Vocation and got all it's skills then jumped straight to Mystic Knight. My Pawn Started out Strider then went to Ranger and is currently on Wizard(He maxed out his previous Vocations and got all their skills too). Edit 2:I've had to edit this thing like 3 times now cause I apparently can't type.
@@juliusaureo9740 Ultimately you will want to grab a lot of augments from other classes, yes. He was just saying he leveled up too much as melee vocations and didn't gain as much magic stat as he could have, but that happens over the course of, like, 100-200 levels, not just a couple level ups while you're training the vocation to get the augments. As long as you try to end up with your base magic stat fairly close to (or higher than) your base strength, you'll be totally fine. I leveled up mostly as a Strider and Ranger, but I cycled through a ton of classes to get augments, and I still ended up with a pretty balanced build I can use with any class and do good damage. Most of your damage is from weapons and gear anyway, your base strength or magic are a tiny portion of your total damage. In particular, Mage and Sorcerer each have a rank 9 augment you'll really want (Acuity and Attunement), getting those will boost your damage by a ton for Mystic Knight or Magic Archer. Also, leveling up as Sorcerer while you're getting that augment certainly won't hurt, it has the highest magic stat gain in the game. Warrior and Fighter have equivalent augments that boost your strength, those can also be good to grab if you plan on using your sword a lot instead of ripostes, especially if you're using an unenchanted weapon. Stat gains are also higher between level 1-100 than they are from 101-200, if you didn't know.
I'm not a massive fan of the enchanter/trance/invocation skills, but the Dark has such a cool name, Desecration Invocation, like its so cool but so useless
Gameplay design is very very deep. Compare with Dark Soul, I still think this game is much deeper than Dark Soul. Dragon Dogma Dark Arisen's only flaw design is, anybody can beat the game when you have level up to 200 level. The game don't test gamer on skill wise (unlike Dark Soul). All you need to do is level up to 200 PLUS you need to know what skills to use - like this experienced gamer did.
Some slight confusion on my end, first time trying out MK in my years of playing. I casted great cannon and followed up with sigil. Resulted in multiple AOE pulses before both skills dissipated. Can't seem to recreate this now. When I first discovered there were no enemies around either.
Maybe mice? You know there are rats that are kinda big but also there are some barely noticeable mice in the game. That or some other thing in the place you did it that triggered the pulses. Maybe bug (some dead enemy lingering hitbox or something).
I am now running 10Strider, MK the rest level play through, Level 36 now with only MK stats and augments. I am struggling with perfect blocking and most of the time just great cannon the enemies to death. Still learning how to MK effectively
@@inigmianstudios2771 Oh, just enjoying this hot t-shirt weather and then cold jacket weather transition of the climates. Humidity is just around the corner
Didn't quite catch the Anguish/Sleep interaction, will have to look into that a bit more. One thing I have heard somewhere is that Anguish takes debis from your mshield (I think there is only the Rusted Magick Shield?) and adds them to your mace swings (or swords... but who'd swing a sword when you can go clubbing?), and I have been just dying to try a Rusted Mshield, Aneled Mace, Fire Trance/Anguish build. Or maybe a golden mace. It sounds janky and not that good, but fun, but as I am still only on my first playthrough ever and still learning the game, it'll take a while. Also doesn't help that Reynard died in the beginning and I have no convenient means for Shackles right now...
Great video ! There just something that not right for me, the sigils don’t use the permanent enchantment of magic melee weapons. It just make no element when you use sigils skill, I need to buff my weapons with an enchantment buff even if I have a permanent elemental weapon.
So basically the other vocations are classic fantasy archetypes while MK is a Star Wars laser turret mechanic that somehow wound up in Gransys. Got it. This is easily the most OP vocation I've seen, too bad Great Cannon feels so boring imo.
I am not sure what happens. I have tested it with many scenarios and yeah, Abyssal weakens the Cannon orbs, but only when the weapon is permanently enchanted.
@@Nihil0.0 It must be because the anguish gives longer reach onto your weapon and it might proc the orb based on the anguish damage only from the hitbox. One of the many reasons I don't touch GMC

If making a lv11-200 mystic knight character, which class do you think is the best starter? Fighter for a bit more physical might and bulk, or mage for a bit more damage? And what type of pawn best synergizes with a MK?
I feel pretty silly for ignoring Demonswrath this entire time. I might try it over Abyssal Anguish next time because it looks like it still packs the damage, but just not quite as... broken against enemies that don't resist dark. Great video, lots of detail and still fun to watch. What was the first song used, by the way? I can tell it's by Two Steps From Hell but I don't know the song name.
Hey PJ. I am not a fan of Abyssal Anguish, mostly because the long cast time and the short active rate. Demonswrath is pretty damn powerful, and fun to build up the charge. Two Steps from Hell - Strength of thousand men.
Ah, right. Thank you. Also I was trying Demonswrath out earlier. Took three health bars off a downed Elder Ogre when I aimed at its head, so I was quite stunned. It even one-shotted a Pyre Saurian that still had its tail on. I'm not level 110 yet in this playthrough and my magick is somewhere around 350, but I have a ring that boosts it by 59 along with augments. I find it's a bit situational though. I don't get many chances to use it with a full party but thanks for giving me a reason to try it out!
Anguish is still useful if you want more of a spell sword type of character. The extra hits and range is nice, anv casting time and active rate can be increased. All that said, Damon gives you hell trying to cast it in his fight lol
Abyssal Anguish is way more useful in some cases, but between the cast time, how long it lasts, and just how broken it is against enemies who don't resist darkness, it just isn't all that fun by comparison. With Demonswrath, there's just a better sense of reward when you successfully pull it off.
PJ McDaid oh trust me, I know. I guess it was just a personal thing. The entire animation was bad ass, and I love the idea of turning my mace into a dark light saber mace lol
Guten tag Toto. Strider is my favorite, because Strider can handle any enemy and any situation with ease. not all vocations can say this. Range attack, up close attack, Climbing speed and climbing damage better than Assassin and Magic Archer, Enchanted daggers and Splitter do great on Ghost enemies.
@@Nihil0.0 Guten Tag! Thanks alot for the reply! I just bought the game and I'm so glad I found your channel, I'll definitely spread the word about it. Keep it up, I'm sure more and more people will realize how much work you put in your channel. Have a great Sunday!
Been going through your videos, and man there's a ton of good info. I see the effectiveness of the riposte spells, and have been practicing with them, but I get guard broken a lot. Is it the shield I use? I use a Goldforged Fine Magick Buckler because it looks lovely, but could it be that it's just inferior to the other shields? How can you tell?
Your Shield level matters. Fine Magic Buckler is kinda low level, so you will be broken from many enemies, and many attacks. That shield should be able to handle many enemies in Gransys though, like regular Ogre's and Cyclops, definitely Goblins no problem. But BBI enemies, not likely. You can get the Dark Buckler during post game (when skies are cloudy and ashy) in Everfall from the pawn selling weapons. You can try Angel's Sanctum during post game, from Caxton's armory. And you have probably already done this, but I should mention that you also need to purchase the Core Skill Reflect in order for Riposte to work. Great practice is on Greater Goblins. An on par shield will be able to riposte all of their attacks, and the most important attack of theirs is when they jump from far, and use their mace in a downward strike. In this video, the example goblins and the example attack can be seen at 19:43 If your shield can riposte that attack, then all other enemies' attacks should be able as well.
Ah I see. Well, I suppose I have to forgo my current fashion and change to another. Shame. Also, is the Periphery Augment of use for weaker shields? Thanks for your assistance by the way. Despite sinking hundreds of hours into this lovely game, my understanding on the mechanics isn’t near yours. I’m learning a lot though. Fun stuff.
Yeah, actually Periphery does help a little in a big way sometimes. I forgot about that augment. I put it on once when I was using a Rusted Shield, and it increased the success of many other attacks that were breaking my guard. Every enemy has it's heavy attack, which can often break a guard if it's too low of a level. If you know these attacks, then you can avoid them, or use Full Moon Slash instead. But give the Periphery augment a try and see if that bumps it up. I know how you feel about the Fashion Dogma, I am also a victim. But, I gave up on the shields with Fashion, and just settled for the more powerful and Ugly shields.
I did some testing and it helped quite a bit. Never knew it was such a useful augment. I don't get guard broken now, unless it's a heavy attack, which of course is something I'll have to work on learning the tells to as well. And yeah, watching you use Fullmoon Slash and seeing it has I-frames opened up so much for me. And being Fashion centered is kind of a curse. Usually I have to run about with some less than optimal gear to get the look I want, and usually that means I have to be more cautious, but in turn that means I really get to hone my skills and figure out how to play around it. But hey, Fashion is Passion. Again, thanks so much for the info.

Love your videos man. Watched you for MA a year or 2 ago when I played on PS4. Built a PC about a month ago and just got the game again today and I’ve never ran MK. This changed my mind on running MA again. Keep up the great work!
Sir, you are an artist. This is a powerful build.
Very helpful thanks mate. Of course it's also very helpful to have top of the line weapons and armor but such is life.
Mystic knight is my favorite on here it's so versatile on many situations in combat, also because a'lot of times I can't choose between warrior and mage, So mystic is the perfect click in my opinion, ohh and on a side note Dragon's Dogma is a beautiful gem this game rules..
Found out recently that if you have a 3 star or more rusted magick shield, and buff your sword, the sword will apply the shields debuff like poison/torpor
dammmn getting back into the game again, thanks for all the awesome info mate!
Sure thing Leebron. I recall you from a long time ago I think
If you're a mystic knight on BBI and you encounter death use demons periapts and use stone forest 3 times on him it should kill him very quickly if you have a strong enough one handed weapon.
I love this class SO much i even made a homebrew D&D paladin oath based on it's greatshield abilities and control of the elements xD thank you Nihil0.0 for the in depth tutorial, i neven really knew how deep the stats and mechanics ran in DD, thatns for the information! :D
Thanks Swindo. I actually used to always skip Mystic Knight, mostly because I would treat it like a Fighter that could enchant. but once I understood the point of MK, I fell in love with it
@@Nihil0.0 hopefully Dragon's Dogma 2, with multiplayer, keeps this class
Great video I love the music as well and it answered most of my questions about ANGUISH only question I have is how does having a split weapon affect ANGUISH does it reduce its magic or does it lose the potential damage from strength by using it on a split weapon?
I am not sure what happens, but I think some of the magic vanishes. But only with cannon and sigil, when Anguish is used to create. If cannon is created and then Anguish is created, everything works as normal.
Magic Knight is my favorite because i like bashing heads in with the mace.
I remember playing this back in the day in my fruit o the loom underwear and now look at me 2021 just now learning how to play the damn game 💀 awesome videos
great video, I played Dogma for more than 1000 hours and also wanted to shoot a video on this topic but after your videos I think this is exhausted. :)
P. S. very inspiring music
Thanks Evgeniy. I would still encourage to upload some Dogma videos. I love watching them. The music is pretty good, it's Two steps from hell.
I know this a REALLY late comment, but wow, I just noticed I'm mentioned in this vid! :) (2:25)
Thanks Nihil! Sorry for not noticing it sooner!
Amazing video as always!
Thanks Xandra. Was some time ago. It was the video where I was comparing Abyssal Anguish on Cannons with enchanted weapons, if you can remember that. I only had that video up for a few hours until I found the help from you and others.
So thank you
@@Nihil0.0
Yes I remember, lol
Didn't think watching and helping in the comments of that vid would get me a spot in one of your Schematics videos!
I'm super glad I was able to help you with info and make a great video in a way! :)
As much as I love Mystic Knight, I feel like I'm not fully optimizing the vocation. I'm really weak when it comes to timing, so I can't really pulla perfect counter everytime. Although Mystic Knight doesn't really need to revolve around counters, I still feel lacking due to it. That's why I avoided this vocation for the longest time.
Been waiting for this one, thank you!
Sure thing Abdelkader. Thanks for your patience and praise
Man, I want to replay this masterpiece with this class. I already have character with high level but... seriously, this game is awesome
I know Franco. I love this game. It's replay value is endless.
Thanks for checkin' it out
I enjoy your videos a lot and I love the soundtracks. congratulations
We need a MOD to include Thomas Bergersen music in Games. It is Unparalleled Awesomeness xD
Cómo es que aún no ha salido una segunda parte de este juego? Es IMPRESIONANTE! Supongo que es por que en esta generación lo han subestimado. Espero que en la próxima podamos tener una nueva entrega de Dragons's Dogma. Saludos.
Te tengo buenas noticias
@@juanisaias8308 Dos años después mis plegarias fueron escuchadas.
Dang this game is deep! Love this type of educational content. Going to replay Dragon's Dogma on PC now! Thanks!
Great game. Plenty of replay options. Thanks for your words Dinakol.
Only a Mystic Knight is Chad enough to parry an death spell with "Fuck you, have lightning".
Vortex sigil is also good for keeping enemies away from your mage or ranged pawns
ALSO I JUST came up with the idea to use sopor with stone forest on a solo MK the other day. I have not been creative enough with dogma these past years
did you just...perfect block exequy?! You crazy
His spells looks like a mage and sorcerer light attack but on steroids
Yeah, the Great Cannon orbs are much bigger than the Magic bolts
Playing MK feels like cooking food. You prepare ingredients, then you mix them, put them on fire and give the right amount of fire and time, and yeah, delicious food ready. Anything off? Your food would be spoiled and you'll be given taste of your own recipe.
That's a pretty good analogy. MK requires some preparation and decisions
Great video. I still have not finished my first run though. Using MK as of the moment and this will help me a great deal.
Cool Ramel. Enjoy, Mystic Knight is fun
Amazing video
I'm working as a Mystic Knight now, though somewhere i think I messed up the stats for it. Went mostly fighter for a portion of levels, then mage, then sorcerer, assassin, MA, and then warrior. Pretty sure my Magic Attack is not supposed to be where its at now.
Mystic Knight does rely more on magic over strength.
@@eldonhill4840 Thanks for the information.
Omg mitick knohht is a ranged tank basically you pop grate cannon and bop all enemys when it gets heated shield
not the best demostration of abilities but still very useful information thank you
I'm not a massive fan of the enchanter/trance/invocation skills, but the Dark has such a cool name, Desecration Invocation, like its so cool but so useless
3:45 incorrect for me. my fire sword won't change cannon do shoot fire orbs. not unless my mage enchants me or I use my own enchant spells.
I have Eden warden and my sigils won't carry over the fire enchantment to cannon or ruinous. why??
I got this game for Switch, played until the end never did any of the post game stuff cuz i was too weak. Might give it another go
I love this game. 😍😍
I just wish it's map was bigger like skyrim's. 😐😐
It is an awesome game. I also love it. I'm a Texan, so yeah, bigger would always be better.
@@Nihil0.0 yooo texas gang whats up
@@inigmianstudios2771 Oh, just enjoying this hot t-shirt weather and then cold jacket weather transition of the climates.
Awesome music
Great video !
There just something that not right for me, the sigils don’t use the permanent enchantment of magic melee weapons.
It just make no element when you use sigils skill, I need to buff my weapons with an enchantment buff even if I have a permanent elemental weapon.
Awesome game, wish there was a second one.
So basically the other vocations are classic fantasy archetypes while MK is a Star Wars laser turret mechanic that somehow wound up in Gransys. Got it.
This is easily the most OP vocation I've seen, too bad Great Cannon feels so boring imo.
My class at the time 2 sigils and frozen screens was my basic.. Also works with abyssal and Holly dmg
Does abyssal anguish make split damage weapons weaker? I'm not sure what's going on in the ogre great cannon demonstration.
I am not sure what happens. I have tested it with many scenarios and yeah, Abyssal weakens the Cannon orbs, but only when the weapon is permanently enchanted.
@@Nihil0.0
It must be because the anguish gives longer reach onto your weapon and it might proc the orb based on the anguish damage only from the hitbox.
One of the many reasons I don't touch GMC
thanks for the music!
Fantastic video
Thank you ser
lol I wasn't sold on ever playing mystic knight (I tried it endgame once and couldn't get used to it) but the flying around skill (sky dance) has utterly sold me on it
I was not a fan of MK in the past, but once I figured out it was the Ripostes that make MK, I now love it. Sky rapture can be fun, and the Eminence augment is active with the skill
@@Nihil0.0 Yeah that's what interested me, I played yellow classes on my first playthrough and didn't even know perfect block was a thing until the other day lol because of having to get deflect before it can trigger.

Thanks Luciano. It is a great game
yeah the music fits so well, glad u had contact with the main users of MK and they give u some extra info.
The music its on point, catch the purpose of being a magic tank. Do u play on steam, right? would u give me ur nick ?
I am on steam. User id is Nihil0.0.

Master works all, you cant go wrong
my another favorite thanks
Cool. Thanks for checking it out
If making a lv11-200 mystic knight character, which class do you think is the best starter? Fighter for a bit more physical might and bulk, or mage for a bit more damage? And what type of pawn best synergizes with a MK?
Say does slash damage be effective against particular enemies? Like how blunt works well against skeletons?
Saurians, Hydra, and Dragons take more damage from slash over blunt.
Thanks, Nihil
never played this class, it looks sleek as hell
I'll try the holy blessed + cannon combo. Thanks!
Sure thing Markoo. Thanks for checkin' it out
I feel pretty silly for ignoring Demonswrath this entire time.
I’m disappointed swords don’t have there own skills because I was hoping to use the demon blade with this
Best DD youtuber!
Thanks Shao
Nihil what class would u suggest would be the best to build?
I also play mystic knight ( with some of the other vocations ) to boost diff stats. So I got like mid high magic very high stamina and health
Thanks alot for the great content, very educational and informative! What is your favourite/main vocation and why? Greetings from Germany!
Thank you Toto.
Which are better? Enchanted Swords or Enchanted Maces?
