8:16 I would note that the player getting smacked into the rocks and falling over is out of stamina. Having stamina in that situation might reduce stagger or prevent the Arisen from falling over (hopefully).
A cool thing for Thief could be using the new "wait" command, while they sneak in with shadow cloak. Then you could kick off combat with your pawns at the opposite side of the battle.
If the underclothing is gone then it's a damn shame because it's one of the things that made the original dragon's dogma unique. Really hope it comes back because it was great for fashion.
@@ziiiiiiii754 DD Online had vanity slots with the possibility of hiding any piece of equipment as well. This gives me hope that this is the case here too.

Little correction about levin in DD2 you don’t have to hold it longer for more bolts, the cast time is always the same but if you keep spamming the spell button it’ll give you an additional bolt for each time you hit the button until your stamina runs out
@@Infinite_CringeI've watched some footage and it looks like you can indeed spam items trough shortcuts or simply opening the item menu exactly like in DD, so... Levin might be a beast by endgame, at the cost of impaired mobility, that is.
You can spam the additional bolts but the spell itself does not track targets after it is cast meaning if the target can escape the area where it was originally cast you'd have to cast it again to change the area it strikes
Mystic Spearhand seems like fun. I will mourn for Mystic Knight, but at first glance the Spearhand seems like a worthy successor. Magic Archer seems great too. They seems to be leaning harder into shooting magic, which is exactly what I want from it.
I really hope they didn't remove undergarments, such a unique equipment mechanic that really sets it apart from most RPGs, besides being more immersive mix and matching sets for either fashion or stats was so fun in DD1
100% agree, folks... figuring out a good fit for the undergarments + outer layer vests/armor combo was great. It's the most engaged I've ever been in fashion when I'm gaming.
41:10 With how much it looks like they're trying to incorporate the environment more I think the thematic reasoning for giving Archers the Avidity augment could for trying to climb up to higher and safer ground to snipe from with your bow. They might want an archer to move around the battlefield more and try to look for advantageous areas to attack from. And I think adding the faster climbing on foes is just to make it a much more worthwhile augment for non archers to pick up and use and to just combine less impactful augments into stronger and more worthwhile ones.
@theobell2002 I don't mind it. MK perfect block could just be replaced by giving the same effects to enchanted fighter shields. Otherwise, most people who played MK just spam full moon on great cannon anyway, which is incredibly boring.
For the fighter stats at 28:47: the icon at the top of the window is the same icon for the main pawn, and the name says "mein" (main), so I think those are actually the main pawn stats.
One aspect of the game that was shown but hardly ever mentioned is that some enemies now show damage. This can be clearly seen with the cyclops. As the player swings at the cyclops legs, lines (cuts) become visible and the color red gets added. Its nothing major, but its there and is new to the series. I just hope they keep (retain) the depiction of skeletal remains being left behind when the larger enemies are defeated. That was a cool effect of the original that I really hope stays in the sequel.
I don't know, I've seen multiple guards each with that quilted blue coat wearing chest armor, yet there are some without it, and then there's guards with pauldrons as well as the chest piece like the Beastren in the first trailer. Also guards with and without a waist cape. It seems the layer system has been enhanced and overhauled. I don't think Itsuno would sacrifice such a feature for possible quality when it's already there. Dragon's Dogma is his brain child and he wants it to shine.
it may still be there, both shirts and torso armor are grouped in the same slot, same with pants and leg armor in the previous game, it may be the same here
Yeah idk why people think underclothing is gone. Underclothing was always in the same category of the armor it was worn under, there was never an "underclothing" section. You can even see the female thief pawn is wearing Bandages, or one of the other underclothings that had the bandage design on the elbows.
31:48 The wording at the end implies that the additional stamina use comes from pressing the spell button repeatedly at the end for more lightning bolts.
The lack of under armour is my only serious concern so far with the game, but it would be cool if Capcom released a benchmark near the release to showcase the character creator and a few armor sets.
Honestly it could just be they put the underclothing in the same sections as the other armor slots to save on tab spaces but hopefully they didn't pull an oblivion here and get rid of them
I’m more concerned if the skill switching was fixed. Skills should be switched In a pause menu not at a in. I hated that in dogma one and thought that should be fixed.
This video just reinforces how hyped I am for DD2. All of the classes look interesting and I can't wait to find out more about them. Disappointed that they did away with underclothing. fashion dogma is important to me and losing out on that sucks.
the vaulting looked really good for the first time being introduced, i hope they keep ragdoll oh and i love the way it shows you the item when looting off the ground
Btw, the Strider self-divorce actually happened in Dragons Dogma Online, in that game Strider was split up between Hunter and Seeker, also Seeker had Immolation, not Magick Archer who was renamed Elemental Archer for some reason Also I'm thinking it's possible the Green/Blue Hybrid in DD2 is going to be either Alchemist or High Scepter from DDO, if it's one of the classes from DDO I expect Alchemist
You are getting one more skill and the only class affected by this change now is fighter as they lose their 6 skills because they still have a primary and secondary. There were 6 skills because each primary and secondary has 3 skills each. Strider had 3 bow skills and 3 dagger skills. Splitting them does nothing but add a 4th skill. No other class but fighter currently loses number of skills!
@@DANCERcow Bad take tbh, Mystic Knight uses shield skills as much as sword or staff, strider example sure??? You used to be able to still do decent damage with bows, but now you're limited to only your daggers. Assassin seems like it will take the biggest hit, but I don't see them bringing it back the way it was before. Since skills don't seem to be tied to weapons, I don't know if you'd be able to swap weapons on smth like an assassin or mystic knight to gain more loadouts
Just like how they split strider into two classes, maybe they’ve done the same with mystic archer and we’ll get mystic thief or something. Would help explain the magic stat level up for thief.
Yeah, I think the melee part of the magick archer will be moved to the green/blue class. Maybe it's a "spirit monk" class that specializes in unarmed combat.
@18:39 the jumping stab is just fighter's heavy attack/'empale' while moving. in the same way, light attacks seem to have a new set of animations depending on whether you're moving or just standing still
Its odd that magic archer has a blue/yellow icon, in the first game all magic hybrids had the blue on the right, this holds true for mystic spearhand. i wonder if we will get 2 hybrids for each color, considering this and the shield slot mystic knight might not be dead. It unlikely but pls capcom give our flashy parryknight back
You got my sub when you expressed your obsession with the fighter holding the sword while walking/running. That's exactly the kind of attention to detail and realism I love in games, too. Related, I'd also love to see backpacks being a thing in this game but it seems that won't be the case unfortunately. Maybe one day, with mods?
didnt know you can bang your own char to wall from getting attacked, just like how you can do it to enemies. thats a very nice and unique detail. same with prone with heavy injuries. love how the game treat the enemies and character almost equally
Im glad they kept the inclination. Im overwhelmed by the vast majority of DD1 players who didnt even explore this mechanic but blame their pawns for not doing their job.
The problem with inclination is that, they changed whether you wanted it or not Your main pawn inclination even change with the presence of a hired pawn, that's why I only travelled with my main pawn only
@@amspook the only thing that effect your main pawn inclination is how you play and the inclination elixirs. The problem why many ppl pawns are poorly trained is cuz ppl don’t understand the pawn AI mimic your habits. Most ppl choose there pawn to be a different vocation then them. Your main pawn should be same or similar to your vocation not opposite.
@@TheLigon27 Read the wiki, your pawn inclination will get influenced by the presence of hires pawns Yes, what you said is correct, but that's my main complaint about main pawn, they changed quite easily
Something interesting to note in the Mystic Spearhand gameplay is that the wolf they throw might not even be entirely dead. The thrown wolf seems to freak out when it hits the ground (may be it glitching as it gets up?) and then a wolf jumps into frame from the same direction shortly after. It may just be a trick of the framing and it's a second wolf jumping in or it could be that the wolf was just knocked down, thrown (dealing damage to it too?), and then gets back up and attacks again.
I think you are right, I didn't see a single wolf in that footage confirmed to be dead. They probably played it with god mode on for the creatures, so they could capture good combat moment fast for the showcase.
I hope they bring back the mystic knight, or at least the magic shield with the demon spite ability. When the fighter had a high magic defense stat gain, maybe you can do something that can influence a certain stat so that it can add more depth to your character build
The sprint was also put on circle because that's a hold to sprint button, whereas L3 is a toggle. Circle dash will probably work like how running does in dark souls/bloodborne/sekiro/elden ring
Im genuinely so upset for u too that u didnt get to play the demo wtf 😭😭 thank u again for another awesome analysis, i cannot waaaait for this game to come oooout
Hey! I'm really loving the video. I just wanted to offer some corrections specifically in regards to fighter and what seems to be the general moveset of melee classes (fighter + thief). I have also looked through many trailers and I think there may be more to it than you mentioned so far. The basic light and heavy attack combo system has changed so that now doing an attack and holding a direction or doing an attack and holding no direction produce slightly different combos/attacks. It's a little bit difficult to see and I very well could be wrong but you can see in the demo footage particularly of The Game Club that they test out the combos on the classes thief and fighter as soon as they load in. There are two different combos that the respective classes do despite the same button press happening (to my eyes). There are points in the footage of other people where it seems like the direction and non direction attacks seamlessly combo into each other which can also make it hard to distinguish them from each other. The attack you accredit the fighter with doing as a jump + light attack at 18:36 I believe is actually just an empale plus direction input (inputs light up when pressed in bottom right corner). There is other footage with jump light attack and it is very similar to the first game. It happens in your video at 19:46 . Thank you for the blessed post I love your videos and have been playing Dragons Dogma since I was 12 years old so 11 years now lol. I'm so happy this game that means so much to me is getting a sequel and we have a strong community of people who've fallen in love with it as I have. Master works all and much love xxoxo
The notion of there being a hybrid vocation for every possible combination makes Assassin and Ranger cases even more confusing. I wanna see what would get thrown to Fighter/Thief and to Fighter/Archer. Also interested to see Mage/Thief.
One thing that I recently considered, is what if the enhanced vocations have Hybrid variants. That would mean that Mystic Spearhand could actually be the Warrior/Mage hybrid, with Mystic Knight still being the Fighter/Mage hybrid. I already saw one person bring up the fact that Magic Archer has its usual icon colors swapped (with blue being on the left this time, instead of the right).
I love the look of the execution attacks, it reminds me of the Lord of the Rings games for PS2 where you'd knock and enemy on the floor and then have a specific attack for finishing them off on the ground.
I seriously hope they have not gotten rid of underclothing. That was one of the best things about the fashion Dogma. Also very realistic. Just make DD1 but bigger for gods sake.
Maybe the augment ambuscade is not a sneak attack bonus, but a overall damage bonus to enemies that have been knocked down or are staggered plus the sneak attack bonus
Hopefully Mage/sorcerer Levitate actually works in this game for surviving fall damage. At least from certain heights. This had the description in the first game to counteract fall damage, yet was completely broken and they never did fix it.
Hi. I just found this video after watching the showcase of DD2. I am so hyped for this game. DD1 is one of the best games ever made and I am 100% certain that DD2 is a contender for the best game ever made aswell. Your video only increased my hype for the game and a hyper autistic analysis is exactly what I wanted to see. Great video, lots of work put into it, very interesting and explainatory and I'd love to hire your pawn as soon as the games come out. Keep it up, great work, love it!
I really really appreciate changes like making some essential skills from the first game as a natural part of the moveset, kinda reduces the sting of having 4 skills instead of 6 on top of the new tackling + pin mechanic. I swear all this Dragon's Dogma 2 is going to make me die of hype
The only thing I'm slightly upset about is the fact that for all except warrior, there's only custom 4 skills now. It kind of bugs me because I'm afraid it will feel less personal, with the kind of combinations of attacks you can pull. It should be noticed, however, that they did increase the number of skills per weapon, seeing as with swords, daggers, bows, and shields, you only had 3 skill slots for each of them, and have now 4, which is better, except for the mages who had 6 skills for only one weapon. I'm just concerned because since they made the vocations dedicated to one weapon, they might've used that opportunity to explore the possibilities of each weapon to the maximum, by making the 6 slots available, therefore only 4 slots seems like a loss. Still, given how these are starter vocations, maybe they will give us more weapons for the more advanced vocations, since fighter basically still retains the shield moves. I did have concerns at first when I saw this, but from what we've seen, I'm pretty sure Capcom knows what they're doing, and I trust these changes were not simply deprivations just because... Maybe the core skills will be enhanced as well...
I read an article the other day by a journalist who never played dd1, but was sent anyway to TGS to cover for dd2. It's nice to see someone who actually knows what they're talking about// looking at
Fun potential ideas for hybrid vocations: Red/Green: Martial Artist. Devs were concerned about it being too easy to save money with no weapons, so they could give them knuckles and claws as a weapon. Green/Blue: Ninja. It'd be need to see them ape the kusarigama moveset from Nioh 2, andm obviously doing mudra shit for spells. Red/Yellow: Beastmaster. Fights with a whip or crossbow for range; utilizes some of V's tech for directing their monsters in battle. Yellow/Green: Alchemist. Give them their usual alchemic punching and vaulting stuff, maybe add in some ranged options to fit the yellow class hybridization.
I hope player pawns can be hired between console and pc players. And I do really hope we still have mystic knight and that it isn't replaced with mystic spearhand
I'm interested in the dialogue between pawns, like if you chose a specific moniker for yourself or your pawn, will the other pawns refer to them by their moniker or not at all? Food for thought.
Gransys thanks you for your services to the realm 🙏🙏 Interesting about the UI... hopefully the final version is an improvement.... never had a problem with OG DD UI and after spending so many hours in the game it's so comfortable and familiar. Hope it doesn't end up too different from DD. Same with the control scheme.... as an archer it was so satsifying to pull back the bow string and release the arrow with R2 because it actually gave you a satisfying feeling of releasing the arrow with force; but then logically just holding a button to both pull and release the bow string makes sense also. In any case I can't f'kn wait for DD2... all I want at this point is a release date!!
I love Dragon's Dogma, and while I am super excited for DD2, I'm also a bit disappointed that the bow class no longer has the ability to use daggers. It completely removes their versatility, imho. I get why they removed it, but I personally DON'T want to use a class that only uses a bow. And the Thief class that now uses the daggers can't use a bow. I just don't agree with this change as its going to discourage me from using certain classes (vocations).
I was hoping for something like a Pawn quest! Like, Oh, I saw this pretty place in someone else's game and I'd like to see it here as well with my arisen. And that's when you go and unlock a new inclination. I was also hoping they'd include a more personality focused trait as well as a more combat focused one and really let us discover new, more advanced ones as the Pawns gain more personality through the arisen, so I'm very pleased.
It might be that your pawn gives other people quests while in their game, then that arisen and your pawn get a reward which it then brings back to you. To make it more likely you get something from your pawn being rented.
I've been waiting impatiently for this. Seeing all the big outlets with their wimpy 10 min vids and half-baked takes; then here comes the gigachad, hyper-fixated hour long breakdown. Thank you for your dedication 🙏
I personally think every vocation should have *some* kind of a dodge skill, even if I had to replace a weapon/vocation skill for it, because I wanna solo, and if I can't even wiggle out of enemy grapples anymore, I at very least want to have a chance to dodge it.
Great analysis, just one point. Didn't see anyone commenting about it, but the segment where you talk about fighter lvl up stats, it's actualy the pawn's stats, who is a mage.
For the Flagration ignoring defense thing, I wonder if that is referring to something like the armored cyclops. I don't play the caster vocations much so I don't know if they take less damage from spells as well but that might be what that description means. It would be cool if it could destroy those pieces faster too, so a mage pawn could clear off armored sections faster for a melee Arisen.
the dark souls style perfect block makes more sense IMO. IRL, blocking isn't about stopping an attack on your shield, it's about redirecting the momentum in a way that makes the attack harmless, and ideally breaks the opponent out of their guard, opening them up to ripostes. That the character deflects rather than just tanks an attack on a perfect block is reasonable.
I thought the ignores defence part was more about going through shields. It would be interesting but strange if they add some sort of armour melting ability tho.
Just some thougths on Figther, a number of his skills from DDDA could easily be made into core skills like we see with thief and mage. Sheltered Assault and Cymbal could be made into block + light and block + heavy respectively, Broad slash could also be made into something like jump + light attack into any directional input and so on, Downthrust seems to have already gone through such a change given abilities like Impale.
I was hoping for MORE skill slots but skills have higher stamina costs so you can actually make strategic decisions during battle and not just slot in the most obvious multi-purpose skills. Don't like that they removed 2ndary weapons. Apart from that, I'm on board, looks amazing sofar. Let's hope there will be alot of multilevel dungeons and alot of encounters out in the wild :)
After looking through comments, I'm tin-foiling HARD on the vocation changes. Currently, I'm thinking that there may be a LOT more Hybrid vocations than there were in DD1. I think we aren't just going to see Hybrids based off the starting vocations, but also based on the advanced vocations. In other words: Mystic Spearhand may be Warrior/Sorcerer. They do use a two-handed weapon AND offense oriented magic. Magic Archer is obviously Archer/Mage, which would explain its new healing capabilities. SO, I think Mystic Knight is still in the game, but as Fighter/Mage. This is also mildly funny, as this also suggests that Strider could be in the game still, but as a hybrid of Archer and Thief. Perhaps Assassin is Fighter/Thief, and will use a Sword and Dagger combo. Edit: Part of this is because of the vocation icon screen. It shows 9 in total, with 3 of which being hidden. 2 of those have to be the advanced Archer and Thief. So that leads me to believe that the final one is for ALL of the Hybrids. There's also the fact that the Magic Archer icon is different to what it was in DD1, where the blue and yellow are swapped.
I can atest only to the Trickster (a support vocation illusionist who wields an incense burner called a census) and the Warfarer (a Jack of all trades capable of wielding most types of weapons however with lower stats ) Perhaps his probable lower DPS will compensate his versatility.
God I hope there are completely new hybrid vacations like Warrior + Sorcerer to make mystic spearhand. And others such like. I hope Mage + Sorcerer is a hybrid of some kind.
Yes we do know this! You're just coping! Assassin and mystic knight are no more! Fighters have maces now as part of their weapon kit. Fighters have many skills used from mystic knight, powdered charge is now with the thief!
52:28 I don't know if you noticed in the clip, the warrior hits a goblin with what looks like stonesplitter, and there is a follow up where he lifts the goblin into the air while it's impaled on his sword. Very cool! Or maybe they hit them with stonesplitter and then skyward sunder is the impale
I love the animation for Fighter with the shield on the back and the hand on your sword! BUT I'd much prefer if that was only the case outside of combat, during combat, randomly putting your shield all the way on your back looks silly, Mystic Knight always had this issue stopping me from playing it :c
It's definitely returning. All guards wore the quilted blue coat, but only some wore chest pieces. Then there's guards with pauldrons too, and some with waist coats. There was also a mask icon next to an equipped face wrap on the same tab in the equipment screen in this video. 3:47
It's funny that you mentioned you prefer playing fighter and having your pawn be an archer in DD, I also liked the idea of my pawn knocking enemies out if the air so I could savage them in melee and ended up doing the same thing
I'm insanely glad that warrior can now use an additional skill, but is the cost of the rest of the classes losing two skills worth it? have to wait and see it is also very possible stat growth is wonked in this early builds
Per The Rift's speculation chart for Vocations which seems the most grounded and reasonable based on interviews and DDO which went offline in 2019, those missing (for now) might likely be: Hybrid --- Thief + Fighter = Katana User Advanced --- Necromancer? (Purple) Advanced --- Paladin/Cleric (Pink, the new MysticKnight) Unique --- Monk (without weapons, opposite Warfarer)
Removing gauntlets from the game is a crime against Fashion's Dogma! They are such an important part of every ensemble Also, not sure I'm a fan of the changes to the skill system. Reducing the number of available skills slots and making core skills use them as well is the last thing I'd want
Nope again, the skills never changed here. In the first game there were "6 skills" because each primary and secondary has 3 and 3+3 makes six. You play without a dagger as ranger and you get what? 3 skills! The only class as of now that has been affected by this change is fighter because they still keep their shield which is a secondary. All other classes have been split, so what happens when you separate strider, you get 3 skills each! This is a buff for everyone except fighter!
It'd be so sick if you could use MS levitate to stop incoming enemy projectiles or magic bolts and send them back. Also hope we have the option to have animal ears on top of the head for beastren, it just looks cooler aesthetically especially for a cat
My first exposure to DD was the IGN gameplay from a few days ago, and after watching it I’ve need obsessing ever since. Currently playing through the first one, etc. That aside, I just wanted to say that this is the BEST analysis video I’ve ever seen on TH-cam, for any game ever. Your experience is clearly showing and you actually understand the implications of ever the subtlest of changes. For example, you’re the only person I’ve seen to actually call out that there are no more R1 weapon skills - I’ve played the game for literally a day and even I noticed that. I’ve seen so many fucking streamers claiming they are experts after having played the game 10 years ago, pogchamping at anything they see and confidently getting half the details wrong. Hoping you’ll be doing another one for the most recent gameplay? Thank you!
Stat grows below level 10 are different! Ive seen a vid where fighter reached level 6. He gained +32 HP, +16 Stamina, +3 Strength Magic and Defense and 2+ magic defense. Ive also seen stat grows for archer for level up to level 6. +23 HP, +17 Stamina, +2 Strenght and Def, +3 magic def and +5 magic. Seems like archer is a good set up for magick archer this time. So maybe the main stat changes for all vocations after level 10 to fit better with your vocation if you chose to stick with your original one you started as.
Thank you very much for the info, i'm especially interested in the Fighter's grappling capabilities just to have the best murderous option against some future npc i don't like in the game. Like the Duke, the Jester, the guys who kidnapped Aelinore, the villagers who tried to burn Selene, Julien for mansplaining Mercedes, the guards who attacked Madeleine, people in Gran Soren in general for leaving kids living in a sewer...
Just realized, now that we have another color for vocations does that mean we're getting another dragon variant? What element would they be? Fire, Ice, and Lightning are already taken so I'm not sure what it could be.

I really hope they didn't remove undergarments, such a unique equipment mechanic that really sets it apart from most RPGs, besides being more immersive mix and matching sets for either fashion or stats was so fun in DD1
im going to be so salty if undergarments are gone, they really added so much versatility with how they let you layer different sets together.
And I think adding the faster climbing on foes is just to make it a much more worthwhile augment for non archers to pick up and use and to just combine less impactful augments into stronger and more worthwhile ones.
this 100%
Most excited for Mystic Spearhand. Looks like a damn sick class.
It better not be a Mystic Knight replacer. I am baffled by the amount of people who don't care about the lack of Mystic Knight in these videos.
Yep, and IIRC their main pawn was a Mage. So the shown stats allign properly.
Oh thank god those aren't Fighter's stats. That was my bad, not noticing the hand icon.
God I hope they give us a demo for DD2 soon. I'd even take another griffin fight demo just to get a chance to play.
I can't even say how much I've played the DD1 demo. I killed that demo griffin so many times I'd have reached max level if it was the full game xD
I'm so upset they did away with underclothing. It was a unique system that worked really well to give you a options for making a unique look.
Dragon's Dogma is his brain child and he wants it to shine.
who says they're gone? y'all are speculating so early you forgot that it's a demo version of the game. Most likely those are armor sets
it may still be there, both shirts and torso armor are grouped in the same slot, same with pants and leg armor in the previous game, it may be the same here
I hope🤞 it’s still there omg that would suck!! 😅Thong, Thong Thong, Thong THONG. Lol
I think under armor is still a thing would be seriously weird if they took that out
@@abraxas1398It would, but it's not an impossibility 😔
Honestly it could just be they put the underclothing in the same sections as the other armor slots to save on tab spaces but hopefully they didn't pull an oblivion here and get rid of them
I’m more concerned if the skill switching was fixed. Skills should be switched In a pause menu not at a in. I hated that in dogma one and thought that should be fixed.
@@robertrainford6754 Maybe you can switch them while camping or switch those you already unlocked.
This video just reinforces how hyped I am for DD2. All of the classes look interesting and I can't wait to find out more about them. Disappointed that they did away with underclothing. fashion dogma is important to me and losing out on that sucks.
I will gladly spend an hour watching this like i watched the previous one. Thank you for spending your time making this!
Crazy I was just wondering when this was coming out.
the vaulting looked really good for the first time being introduced, i hope they keep ragdoll oh and i love the way it shows you the item when looting off the ground
Btw, the Strider self-divorce actually happened in Dragons Dogma Online, in that game Strider was split up between Hunter and Seeker, also Seeker had Immolation, not Magick Archer who was renamed Elemental Archer for some reason
Also I'm thinking it's possible the Green/Blue Hybrid in DD2 is going to be either Alchemist or High Scepter from DDO, if it's one of the classes from DDO I expect Alchemist
With the revive time for pawns Hardmode is looking like it might be even more brutal, especially since we all get less skills
Less skills but the revamped core skills makes up for it
You are getting one more skill and the only class affected by this change now is fighter as they lose their 6 skills because they still have a primary and secondary. There were 6 skills because each primary and secondary has 3 skills each. Strider had 3 bow skills and 3 dagger skills. Splitting them does nothing but add a 4th skill. No other class but fighter currently loses number of skills!
@@DANCERcow Mages and Sorcerers had six skills while only using one weapon.
@@DANCERcowmage and sorcerer vocations are going to take a hit with less skills this time around.
@18:39 the jumping stab is just fighter's heavy attack/'empale' while moving. in the same way, light attacks seem to have a new set of animations depending on whether you're moving or just standing still
also footpad is just enemy step from dmc, there’s a couple vids that show it off i can try to find
Its odd that magic archer has a blue/yellow icon, in the first game all magic hybrids had the blue on the right, this holds true for mystic spearhand.
i wonder if we will get 2 hybrids for each color, considering this and the shield slot mystic knight might not be dead.
It unlikely but pls capcom give our flashy parryknight back
I have been waiting all week for this! Absolutely amazing as always
IT’S HERE
didnt know you can bang your own char to wall from getting attacked, just like how you can do it to enemies. thats a very nice and unique detail. same with prone with heavy injuries. love how the game treat the enemies and character almost equally
Im glad they kept the inclination. Im overwhelmed by the vast majority of DD1 players who didnt even explore this mechanic but blame their pawns for not doing their job.
The problem with inclination is that, they changed whether you wanted it or not
Your main pawn inclination even change with the presence of a hired pawn, that's why I only travelled with my main pawn only
@@amspook i just use the potions, it's cheap and unlimited.
@@TheLigon27 Read the wiki, your pawn inclination will get influenced by the presence of hires pawns
Yes, what you said is correct, but that's my main complaint about main pawn, they changed quite easily
@@amspook the wiki is wrong , not everything you read on a wiki page is 100% accurate that why they not official sources.
Dark Dogma
We're eating good today boys. Hour long analysis here we go
Im genuinely so upset for u too that u didnt get to play the demo wtf 😭😭 thank u again for another awesome analysis, i cannot waaaait for this game to come oooout
This is the exact kind of deep dive I wanted for this game. Well done!
I think secondary weapon slot is being removed in this game.
Fight/Thief sounds like a boxer
One thing that I recently considered, is what if the enhanced vocations have Hybrid variants. That would mean that Mystic Spearhand could actually be the Warrior/Mage hybrid, with Mystic Knight still being the Fighter/Mage hybrid.
I already saw one person bring up the fact that Magic Archer has its usual icon colors swapped (with blue being on the left this time, instead of the right).
Fighter and Thief might 100% be that Monk vocation with a fisticuff weapon.
This is exactly what i've been looking for, thank you!
I really really appreciate changes like making some essential skills from the first game as a natural part of the moveset, kinda reduces the sting of having 4 skills instead of 6 on top of the new tackling + pin mechanic. I swear all this Dragon's Dogma 2 is going to make me die of hype
Rook being in DD2 makes this GOTY when it comes out. 🤣
LETS FREAKING GOOOO!! Was waiting for this since TGS
It's nice to see someone who actually knows what they're talking about// looking at
This is best video made about DD2 and cleared a lot of stuff that was confusing. I want to thank you.
Fun potential ideas for hybrid vocations:
Red/Green: Martial Artist.
Incredibly detailed summary, thank you for all you do
I'm interested in the dialogue between pawns, like if you chose a specific moniker for yourself or your pawn, will the other pawns refer to them by their moniker or not at all? Food for thought.
Gransys thanks you for your services to the realm 🙏🙏
Interesting about the UI... hopefully the final version is an improvement.... never had a problem with OG DD UI and after spending so many hours in the game it's so comfortable and familiar.
I would hope/assume/cope that there will be a green+yellow hybrid class that lets players get that old Strider bow and daggers style going.
My fave is magic archer. After ten years I wish to continue playing as such.
Rook pointing out the menu icons. I fucking love this channel XD
Great video so far! I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS GAME!
AUTISM WOOOOOO! Also im very happy archer is getting its own class rather than being tied into strider, i just really love archers in fantasy settings
they`re masterworks all, you can´t go wrong
In other words:
Mystic Spearhand may be Warrior/Sorcerer.
Spearhand is mystic knight replacement
@@DANCERcow We don't know yet, I'm believing in our giant shield boi the parry god
Yes we do know this! You're just coping! Assassin and mystic knight are no more! Fighters have maces now as part of their weapon kit. Fighters have many skills used from mystic knight, powdered charge is now with the thief!
@@DANCERcow This makes me wanna boycott the game, tbh.
Except when you're climbing. Climbing holding your shield in your hand is a really dumb thing to do.
I love you. I've been waiting for this for so long.
Love your content G. You are underrated.
I've never seen your channel before, but I love the total leaning in to your autism. Subscribed to hopefully join in on more autism to come.
Under clothing was one of my favorite options in DD compared to other rpgs 😢
It's definitely returning. All guards wore the quilted blue coat, but only some wore chest pieces. Then there's guards with pauldrons too, and some with waist coats. There was also a mask icon next to an equipped face wrap on the same tab in the equipment screen in this video. 3:47
It's funny that you mentioned you prefer playing fighter and having your pawn be an archer in DD, I also liked the idea of my pawn knocking enemies out if the air so I could savage them in melee and ended up doing the same thing
I'm insanely glad that warrior can now use an additional skill, but is the cost of the rest of the classes losing two skills worth it? have to wait and see
it is also very possible stat growth is wonked in this early builds
Per The Rift's speculation chart for Vocations which seems the most grounded and reasonable based on interviews and DDO which went offline in 2019, those missing (for now) might likely be:
Hybrid --- Thief + Fighter = Katana User
Advanced --- Necromancer? (Purple)
Advanced --- Paladin/Cleric (Pink, the new MysticKnight)
Unique --- Monk (without weapons, opposite Warfarer)
Removing gauntlets from the game is a crime against Fashion's Dogma! They are such an important part of every ensemble
Also, not sure I'm a fan of the changes to the skill system.
I agree with gauntlets, but I am a fan of the skill changes.
Explain to me how this new system works? Do we stoll have 6 skills or what exactly
@@DANCERcow No it isn't. A mage/sorcerer only had 1 weapon in DD 1 but 6 skills. Now both of them only have 4.
It'd be so sick if you could use MS levitate to stop incoming enemy projectiles or magic bolts and send them back. Also hope we have the option to have animal ears on top of the head for beastren, it just looks cooler aesthetically especially for a cat
thank you for your service.
Thank you!
Im right here to have my brain wrinkled.
Finally finished watching your analysis, I'm so excited for DD2 and Wojak Rook made everything better
Green could be poison, like Cursed Dragon in BBI
Damn. I was hoping pawns would get hybrid vocations.
With any luck they might be unlocked via quest this time around.
I'm gonna heart and favorite Chonk Lord so fuckin hard
Thanks for making this video. I’ve been looking for an in depth breakdown exactly like this.
underclothing gone? well thats disappointing...smh
This is very easily the best video I've seen about the game so far.
It basically covers everything I wanted to know.
