    I have to add another comment; after seeing this review, I went and registered to CW's newsletter and they provided me with a welcome discount (10%) and now, b/c I'm in LOVE with this watch, it's going to be in my roster within the next few days 😍
    I was gearing up to buy the Tissot Seastar 2000 but now, forget it! For close to the same price, you get much, much more i.e. COSC, same 600m WR, Sapphire through-and-through, great design, great lume and all that for a great cause. I'm hooked.
    I'm truly, truly grateful to have watched this review b/c I was "this close" to buying the Seastar 2000.
    Wow! ... I'm floored by the beauty of this watch (can you tell? 😉) - Thanks again Chris. Keep 'em coming! Great reviews.

      I have a Seastar 1000, which is not the 2000 to be sure, but the CW is light years ahead of Tissot in my opinion, in every area that matters - design, construction, specs, details. One issue I have with the Seastars relates to styling - they are "alll face and no case" on the wrist, as compared to traditional design where the case is more prominent.

    This is a FANTASTIC watch for the price! COSC, 600m WR, Sapphire Crystal and Dial?!?
    That's just insane. And, on top of that, this is for a good cause that is near and dear to my heart; Save The Ocean.
    Overfishing is killing our oceans and this ecosystem is key to our survival. You want to save the Earth, start by saving the oceans.
    Great cause, great watch ... now, great ... I have to go ahead and press the "Add To Cart" 👋🏼😄

    Glad I went for the bracelet. Not fond of straps needing a break in. Wish it was a 44mm, but Ward has leaned into the small cases. 42 and change should be okay. Mine is hung up with DHL, some unspecified delay. Was supposed to arrive yesterday. Exciting to return to the brand. Bought five in a row, years back, before the logo change, then none since. Never liked the long name off to the side, but centered, and date below looks good. Epic value, even at $1215 on the bracelet. Great review. That lume!!!!!!

      @AKhan.28 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you purchasing this from the states? How much import tax am I expected to pay? Really interested in this watch and have always wanted a Cristopher Ward. I agree with you about the branding, it should be centered. Not a fan of it on the side and I believe CW will listen to their prospective customers and bring it back to where it should be

    • @135ipocketrocket2
      @135ipocketrocket2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AKhan.28 No USA sellers, unfortunately, so yes we do pay duty on any watch over $800. The hold up from DHL on mine was, in fact, duty owed, and it's annoying DHL listed it as an unexpected shipping delay problem. Had to sit on hold to finally talk to someone, just to find out it was only duty needing to be paid. $82 on a $1200 watch (pay DHL directly online), so, slightly under 7%. Odd because I only paid forty bucks duty for a $1600 watch from Japan, so, I guess it varies. But these are sold directly from the Christopher Ward web site. Once a customer, you will receive a $125 off coupon, usually a few times per year, which is nice. Occasional clearance sales also occur. Shipping is quite fast. Woulda had mine last week if they'd let me know what the hold up was. And, after 5 buys in a row, years back, this is my first buy since the logo changed to the full name, lol, that's how much I have disliked it. Still would much prefer the twin flags they sometimes use, but, yes, centered is certainly preferable. Their quality is outstanding though, definitely above the price points!

      @@135ipocketrocket2 Ok thank you so much for the information! Now I'm stuck on which model I want haha. They have so many appealing watches and it seems as if they're one of the best brands when it comes to the price:quality propostion.
      Strange that DHL wouldn't notify you about the duty fees...

    • @135ipocketrocket2
      @135ipocketrocket2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AKhan.28 Yup, they definitely excel on quality for price. Micro brands in general have been very rewarding buys, for me, but CW is one of the best, although as Chris points out, they are probably more of just an independent now, than a micro. Hope you find something you like, although I'm confident any choice from them will bring happiness. 👍

    @WatchChris - Thanks for the great review! Regarding the quality of the case and its finishing, Mike France in a recent video proudly revealed that CW's cases come from the same source as Tudor's, very impressive given the much lower price tier that CW watches occupy. Their value is exceptional as you stated including COSC certification of many models for a modest upcharge.

I don't know if lume is mediocre across the whole Squale line (please correct me if I'm wrong!), but it just isn't great on this one (maybe I've become spoiled with great lume from the likes of Seiko, Zelos, NTH, and most recently, SWC with their Bunker 100m WR field watch). And for this reason, maybe it's the one and only Squale I'll ever own (which is a shame, as I know Squale's got other interesting watches in their lineup).
