Within a matter of months, I have improved in animation tremendously thanks to you. I've been watching your tutorials religiously ever since I've made that commitment to learning animation to the core!
You make some of the best animation tutorials on youtube. I like listening to stuff like this while I work on animations. It makes the isolating activity of drawing hundreds of frames more bearable lol.
First i thought this video will be messed up but i continue watching this video and really then i realized if i would have missed this video then i would never ever improved my animation by watching any other video.............................This video is the best ever videoo!!.........................................and dude you are also a handsome boy!
+ParkCraft99 thanks man it's been a really tough struggle trying to keep putting out content during term time (I'm doing a degree course right now). Over the last month or two I have needed to reduce the videos to maybe once every 2 weeks. This week I went snowboarding so the video is not edited yet oops haha
awww man I wish you did a tutorial for animating in photoshop pro cc I'm new to flash and drawing in it is hard cause the auto correct on the brush tool feels weird to me like I can't sketch out my drawings like I do on photoshop
+Donte Jewett Yeah I would but I'm not an expert in Photoshop, especially for animating unfortunately. Maybe when I have mastered efficient animating in Photoshop I will make tutorials about it
Currently I don’t have flash, but I hope to someday, as it is one of my dreams to make my art become alive and for people to see what I imagine. Right now I am just an artist, but animation is the next step right? Right now I’m working on FlipaClip, a pretty simple and free program.
Soooo I want to animate as a career and got a iPad to start. Any tips for programs or how to do tweens/frames by frames and other things I would need to know?
You can use flipaclip or rough animator for making animations! I'm a mobile animator and I animate using my fingers (no stylus 😭). There are enough tutorials on how to use these programs. No matter what you have, the rules are all the same! That's why I'm preparing myself for the animation! So stay positive! Stay motivated! Stay creative! 😉
+scottwjsm it depends on the movement but I try and use a lot of references these days - even sometimes shooting them myself. I find that it creates a more authentic movement. I also practice life drawing which helps. Thanks man!
This seems like you're eyeballing your timing which isnt bad if you're experienced but do you ever use time charts? or would you say doing this like you do in this video is a better method for just animating digitally?
(I'm three years late to the discussion lol--) I don't know how necessary timing charts are, at least in my experience. While they help, I'm mostly able to work faster and more efficiently without them on screen. I'm not pro, but I have some general experience with animation and feel like timing charts are sort of optional. While it would be really difficult to do this without a program, almost all the animation in the field nowadays is digitized.
Hii,your work really inspires me, how exactly did you slow it down and speed it up from around 12:00 -15:00 what did you press to slow it down are there any hot keys for it or something?
f5 key for slowing it down. Right click (on a frame or selection of frames) remove frame to speed the movement up. I also developed a shortcut in the flash preferences for removing frames to make it faster.
Hi, I was wondering how long you draw for everyday? I want to get into animation, but I'd like to get an idea of how long people who are actually good at it practice for daily so I can get to that point. Thanks!
Hey!!! Idk if this will help, but personally I don’t know if it’s a matter of how *long* you’re practicing for, rather than the content you’re practicing if that makes sense? Rather than practicing the same technique for 5+ hours, try practicing a various amount of techniques over a period of time :)) its all up to your personal limit really, but make sure not to overwork yourself!!
Its just slowing down parts or making parts/frames fast without timing everything will look so fast or slow by adding little bit of slowing down and fast will help the animation
started out making animations as a self taught animator, then went through the education system, now I have a first class honors degree in animation :)
I fucking love your tutorials. I've been struggling a lot recently with timing my actions. Watching your stuff inspired to start animating some of my own action sequences. By the way have you watched ping pong the animation? For some reason your animations remind me of it. You really should watch this sequence from the anime if you haven't already ^_^ th-cam.com/video/Ls4NadTlHhA/w-d-xo.html

You have no idea how much this will help me 😭😭
I hope I live long enough to know how you do these angles so flawlessly, you are crazy good man
lots of squinting, murmuring to myself "...that doesn't look right" erasing, redrawing, scrubbing through the timeline. Rinse and repeat haha
Howard Wimshurst sounds like heaven
Your animation tips for 2D Flash are still helpful (to me anyway) when doing 3D.
I am a 3D animator,, your video is very useful, Thanks for being so helpful

Do you use references or are you just awesome at figure drawing?! Love these tutorials they help a lot

if you get into animation and you enjoy it, it becomes a religion and this man is the Jesus of this religion

awesome tutorials though
Can you make animations this well on FlipAClip?
When you select a frame what's the keyboard shortcut you use to delete it?
+Wahda to remove it completely you need to reprogram a key to do that
I use shift and r to remove the frame but you can set it to whatever you like
So In order to adjust the timing the frame must be stretched out correct ?
stretch frames far apart from each other = slower overall speed
packing frames close together = faster overall speed
@@HowardWimshurst thank you I was wondering why when I animated on 2s why it was flying through the frames
One of my biggest problems is timing an animation, I don't want something to be too long or too short
Hi, I was wondering how long you draw for everyday? I want to get into animation, but I'd like to get an idea of how long people who are actually good at it practice for daily so I can get to that point. Thanks!

do you use digicel flipbook in your animations?
nope, is that a hardware or software?
its a software, i use it for plannig 3d animations because is very easy to use,
cool! i'll look into it
What shortcut did you use to add those Frames ?💀
Is it possible even in flash? Please let me know
You should make a tutorial on effects
+Artistic Gaming I don't think I know it well enough
+Howard Wimshurst nah you arête ally good!
On next video
Keeping animation on music video ?
0:48 yes same XD.
Will take Bachelor of Science in Digital Animation for college. any tipssss????
You should join the hyun's dojo community. Correct me if you already join
how do time chart's work??
Its just slowing down parts or making parts/frames fast without timing everything will look so fast or slow by adding little bit of slowing down and fast will help the animation
last frame looks weak as a joke and weak as a pose imo.
Other than that RESPECT - TEACH ME !
I didn't know how to say it but that was the lamest, weakest kick I've seen. But the guy is good at teaching. I gotta give him that.
do you uploading every week?
+LazyVFXGuy usually but right now I have got some animations to finish off so there are not going to be videos going up for at least 3 more weeks
Subbed
Hmm can some one tell me what's the meaning of 1s 2s 3s 4s so on
I'm a Bit confused by that part
you can look up my video on animation keywords - it explains it there 😉
Oh ok thankd
TIPS Key Frame Please🥺
guys I'm a beginner and I have flash and blender at the same time which recommanded for amateur and thanks in advance
THIS MADE NEEDS TO ANIMATE MY STUFF CUZ IM TO LAZY
who is a made?
Determination in his eyes
I use traditional and photoshop animation...
You know.
Now I think that the way to make a glitch effect is to make a random harsh line-
When's the next video man
+ParkCraft99 hopefully it should be up on Friday evening. I might be able to get it edited by Thursday, we will see
