George my friendly rooster. He follows me all around the yard like a dog with feathers! I can be working in the garden and doing yard work and he tries to help
They can be way more friendly than the dogs and its totally normal to be used with you if you give him enough attention :) all my chickens was like him with me . nice feeling :)
they like to crow from high elevations so that they can be heard far and wide, so his lap is a good safe space he can do this. My roo prefers a big boulder we have in the back yard.

He sits & sleeps on my lap, follows me, and comes towards me when I call his name. He's a White Rooster Dog! 🐔 I think the secret is to obviously train them at their chick age and keep going at it! Roosters & Chickens are very intelligent. They're underestimated creatures for sure. Lucky turned One Years old this year on September 22!!
My husband and I had a beautiful 'full black' Australorp rooster that we loved so much. He was really sweet with the ladies; very laid back with humans and was just the most beautiful bird you have ever seen...then the neighbours complained about the noise (eye roll), and we gave him away to an Australorp breeder. Thankfully he went to a good home with seven lovely ladies to keep happy on an acre to himself. But we miss him so...
He is soooooo cute and the way he approach you is also cute. He got beautiful shiny yellow orange feathers. So handsome rooster and a lovely, beautiful création of god!!!😗😗😗 He made me want to cry. He is such a blessing!!❤❤❤
When I was younger, my grandma used to grow chickens in her home, just for the eggs. Sometimes she took some fertilized eggs and hatched them, giving the chicks to her friends. As a animal lover, I always visited her when she told me an egg had hatched, and I just stood there, playing and watching the chicks. One of them got really attached to me, I called him Chiquinho. Chiquinho was my best friend, I used to go for a walk holding him in my armpit, it was the chillest rooster I've ever met. But when he got older, he started attacking everyone except me. When someone got near, he'd instantly switched to attack mode. One day he almost blinded my grandpa with his claws. At that time, my grandma told Chiquinho ran away, but a few years ago I discovered that she actually gave him to a friend of her that also grew chickens. He's probably dead by now, I miss him. Rest in peace Chiquinho, best birb I've ever met
I have a lot of roosters who are nice like this. Give them attention at a young age, cuddles and scritches, and chances are good they’ll end up being your best buddy
Buff orpingtons are a delight to the eye. I had over 35 breeds of chickens at once but my favorite breed was and still the buff orpington. They are very sweet and gorgeous. Hens are good setters and great mothers.
I’ve got 6 serama baby boys who do this with me. My lap gets literally covered with mini-roosters and they battle to get my attention. (Remarkably, they hardly poo on me for those of you thinkin’ that). Funny too, just like your George here, they all crow as soon as they land on my lap. They all will swarm around me, looking up at me as if to say “c’mon! When are you going to sit down so that we can sit on your lap?” As soon as I do...it’s this (your video). They love being petted and scratched between the neck feathers. They’re very much like puppies.
I had a Silkie rooster that I bought last year and he was so nice and sweet. I named him Buddie and my family loved him, he was like one of the family. He would sit on our labs and sit there while we pet him. Until recently I went to go feed him and he walked up to me and died at my feet. He waited all night for me in the morning to feed him to say good bye. I only had him for little over a year and his girl friend silkie was heart broken and she died three days later. I had her for three years and she was just as friendly as Buddie. I really miss both of them.
I just pick up my silkie rooster a bit like a football, legs dangling. He is pretty fine with it, but he wouldn't choose to jump in my lap like this guy. What a rooster!
I used to have an orpington buff rooster that jumped on my lap like this one, we bought 3 chicks but one turned out to be a rooster and we're only allowed to keep hens where I live (in the village's center) so we gave him away to a family member :/ He's still a happy rooster, but they don't give him the attention and affection like I did.
I had one chicken hatch from the incubator. His name is Lucky. We bought him a couple of friends at the feed store who are very friendly as well but lucky is extra loving.
Could have been if you had paid much attention to it ..Same as My colleague from work ..He has a budgerigar like me and he wants him to be tame ..But how should he tame him .. if he is not busy with it every day .. My budgerigar is tame .. he comes to sit with me in my hand .. if he wants to cuddle .. he never let him out of his cage .. while mine is usually out of his cage ..

I had a Buff Orpington rooster. Raised him from a baby and he was the meanest thing I ever saw. He attacked us every morning and was vicious. He would injure us. My ex got fed up one morning and kicked him, forgetting he was wearing his steel toed boots, and broke his leg and I had to put him out of his misery because my ex had gone out of town that day!! It was horrific and traumatic!! The irony of it all is that we got Buff Orpingtons because we had heard about how friendly, docile and peaceful they were. ☹ Just wanted to share about my anomaly!
The great invention is a no crow rooster collar. But I like him but I don’t want him to disturb the neighbors. The no crow rooster collar makes the roosters quiet.
Our buff hen Sophie is our “dog with feathers” We have 4 buffs for almost year now, and others, All handled equally. Something is different about Some birds that connect so deeply with us! We love all of our birds and take meticulous care of them. We get so much more back than just eggs when she (and a couple other of our hens) hop up in our lap to bury their neck on our shoulder!
