Still prefer the gyro controlled driver. Especially when it comes to bringing a screw in on something fragile like a switch plate.

Good catch on the reversal speed feature. I just got mine and thought it was possibly defective. But now it makes sense to have a constant high torque/speed value in reverse for all torque settings. It's the fine details like that, which is what has set this electric screwdriver apart from so many others. This has been my go to for diagnosis use but never for larger fasteners or when I'm dealing with 25+ on a job, let the big tools do that with speed and ease.
To clarify- you don't technically need to set the control to the lock setting to manually tighten. It's there more as a means to prevent accidental activation in your tool bag or pocket.

I think I would prefer the 8v gyro max with clutch I would have to look up spec comparison but for slightly larger I think it would be the better option in the same price range and with a clutch…

I would prefer this design but with a clutch. I don't like the gyro gimmick, sometimes it's annoying.

As a tech guy, smaller is better inside an amplifier or transmitter cabinet. This looks interesting except for the slightly weird controls. I use a gyro model now.

Does the dial switch on the bottom control speed or torque? If torque… assume an electric cutoff instead of a clutch?

It kills me ryobi won't make something this compact with the usb line. Their screw gun is great but the handle is so big due to the swivel.

I have been looking for a compact screwdriver for driving actual screws occasionally, for my tool bag. I believe this is only 44 inch lbs, as stated by Dewalt. A similar Dewalt model also rated at 44 in-lbs tested with an in-lb meter to 21 in-lbs. This is on par with some others but better than most. I wish you would have run this till it shut off with a torque meter.

there is a MUCH better dewalt cordless screwdriver imho. it uses their 8v system and it uses a gyroscope for tighten/loosen. it makes this one look like a toy. Model is DCF682N1

Gimmick!!, Yeah i'd rather have the MAC one. This one looks to be piss weak for a cordless screwdriver & the $90 price has just put me off it instantly. Not worth it & DeWalt living in a dream world trying to charge that for it. I'd rather get the Giro Screwdriver with it's twisty handle and more power if needed.

    • @renurenovationsllc7780

The MAC tools one had a REALLY hard time, and was like second to WORST, as far as torque to run Nylon lock nuts onto bolts. It was literally the MOST expensive, and was second to WORST.
